    Traveling student review

This laptop is perfect for school, as well as gaming on the go. I travel a lot for work, so I needed something that could handle my in-person classes well, as well as be small enough to fit in my bag that I use to travel, and be powerful enough to game on. This is the perfect laptop, however, it has some issues that have caused me a ton of frustration BATTERY - When I go to my lectures, I'm usually in class for about 4 hours, I write notes using my BAMBOO pen, read powerpoints, use one note, and code in Visual studio, and I usually only use about 25%-35% of my battery in those 4 hours. The battery is very good, and you can set it to stop charging at 60% or 80% to extend the battery life. This was my biggest concern, and I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. In order to make it last tho, you should turn off the dedicated GPU in armoury crate (the laptops proprietary software) while on battery. This will greatly extend your battery life and is a must for college classes GPU - I have yet to find a game that I cannot play at 1080p on low settings. It performs very well in every game I play, and I haven't noticed any issues while gaming. BUILD - Keyboard is really good, the trackpad's very nice but a little small. The white back light makes it easy to see at night and isn't too obnoxiously "gamer". CPU - Very powerful, computer is super snappy, and I have yet to have any performance issues when working properly. UGPRADABILITY - There is nothing upgradable except for the SSD. But the SSD is a 30mm m.2 SSD, so there not really any SSD's that size over 1 TB PEN WRITING - I use a wiacom BAMBOO pen, and it usually doesn't have any issues, however, sometimes it will not write, and I'll have to make the same stroke 4 or 5 times before the line actually writes. When not in table mode, it always picks up my plan and messes up my writing/drawing. This is much better in tablet mode, but still occurs every now and then. ISSUES - Not sure if this is just my laptop, but I have experienced a couple of frustrating issues to watch out for. Sometimes when I open the lid, the screen will be sideways and will not rotate. When connecting to an HDMI cable, the picture will be flipped, and again will not rotate. The only way I"ve fixed these issues is by continuously closing and opening the lid again, and it usually fixes itself. Sometimes when booting up the PC, it won't read my SSD. I opened that back and it's not loose, the BIOS just won't recognize it sometimes, as it doesn't even show up in the bios. Once again I usually just have to restart my laptop a few times and it fixes itself. My final major issue which hasn't started occurring until recently is if the drivers are out of date, the PC will randomly blue screen, unless it is plugged in. Updating the drivers fixes this issue, but I've had a couple coding projects get corrupted and lost progress due to it. SUMMARY - With great battery life and performance, this is great for a student who wants to take notes with a pen, needs a powerful computer, and wants to game on the side. When it works correctly, it is the best laptop out there, However, my old laptop has never had any issues, and I abused that thing viciously for about 6 years, where as this laptop has had issues after only a few months which include bluescreens, not recognizing SSD, and not being able to rotate the screen.

    Great Machine, Defective Touch Screen

Not sure if this is Best Buy or Asus' problem, but I purchased what was supposed to be a "Certified Open Box" device. It came in generic packaging, with the charger loose in the box. The device was covered in fingerprints, and the XGm cover ont eh side was nowhere to be found. Ignoring that, I turned on the computer and everything seemed fine. I even through on a couple games I planned to play and they worked fine. Now for the reason for the bad review. I tried to use a stylus on the screen, and it jumped and skipped. I can't draw a straight line. At first I though it was the pen, until I tried my friend's Surface Pen and it did the same thing. Then, I noticed that when I was using the touch screen with my finger, it would register my swipes as multiple rapid taps. Asus referred me to Best Buy, and I currently have a scheduled appointment with Geek Squad.

      Dear JReyes,

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenence if are experiencing issues with the touchscreen.

To resolve the issue, please install all cumulative and feature WINDOWS Update and update the Nvidia vdeo driver. If you are accessing web applications, please verify if the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will affect the responsiveness of the touchscreen.

Should you need further assistance with the laptop, please email me at [email protected] and I will be more than glad to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.

My use case: photo processing, modest gaming. This is what I wished the Microsoft Surface Book/pro was. I love taking notes with a stylus (not included on this model, but any surface pen type should work). The laptop feels solid, I would say second to the feel and design of the razer stealth or macbooks. The keyboard is better than those, but that is personal preference. The RTX 3050ti inside could have used 6-8 gb instead of 4gb, but it works well enough. DLSS makes a big difference for tiny laptops and playable FPS. There is just enough power to enjoy modest gaming on the go. As an example, RDR2 runs ~ 45-60 fps with modest settings and DLSS enabled. You can disable the iGPU vs the 3050ti to try and eke out more performance, however it may not be as good as a mux switch? The separate XG mobile (pricey RTX 3080 16gb dock) is VERY tech forward and I hope Asus supports this interface in the future. It provides more bandwidth than the eGPU thunderbolt options that other portable laptops use and is truly portable. I'm tempted to get it and just completely replace my desktop with this setup. The 8 core AMD CPU can handle what I throw at it. It is much better than a 4 core intel i7 with thunderbolt. I stack astrophotography images and use photoshop/lightroom on top of modest gaming. Down firing speakers are better than I expected. IO ports: good enough for a laptop this size. XG mobile connector (with USB C port), HDMI port (iGPU connected), USBC and USBA on the right side. Battery life is decent when just using the iGPU, maybe the battery could have been a bit bigger. I travel from location to location and mostly use this plugged in. I don't know what people expect when playing games or using crazy intensive programs without being plugged in. I wish there was a flush mini SD card reader for expandable storage. I wish the internal NVME SSD was not a 2230, will probably have to wait for that formfactor to mature to hit 2TB, but 1TB is good enough for today. The screen brightness is just ok. If you are using this in the sun, you'll probably wish it was brighter but using this in a regular room/office indoor setting is not an issue. There might be a 32 GB RAM version with the RTX 3050ti coming out soon? Not like Asus really advertises it and it may differ per region. 16gb is good enough for now. Most people will just upgrade to a new laptop anyway when 32gb is necessary.

First off - the description on the US Best Buy site is inadequate / incorrect. This is an ASUS ROG Flow X13, and has a touchscreen! I needed a work travel laptop with discrete GPU and was debating getting a Microsoft Surface Book 3 or MSI Summit E14 - but this beats it hands down. Better CPU, GPU, connectivity (e.g. no dock necessary for multi-monitor) and much better price. The fingerprint reader is cool (it's on the power button, took me a bit to find:) and having 2 usb-c (one hidden under rubber cover on left side) and one usb-a is really nice given one -c is used for charging. Very solid feeling, nice stiff hinges, good keyboard, and really nicely lightweight. Performance is very dialed back (~2 GHz, uses integrated GPU) when uplugged at stock settings, which to me provided a nice balance between responsiveness, heat and battery life playing around with for a day (didn't get very hot on my lap). When plugged in, this is as performant as you'd expect given the great CPU, and the 3050ti GPU is a nice boost over the 1650/ti in most other laptops this size. If you need something small and light with a GPU - this is highly recommended.

Asus always makes great gaming laptops and this laptop is no exception, this laptop is thin and lightweight for everything that it packs. The laptop itself looks great, it is made of a good quality plastics that has a diagonal line pattern. At less than one inch when closed and roughly 9inch x12 inches, this laptop is by no means massive like the gaming laptops of old, in my opinion this is more like a hybrid laptop, you can carry it around everywhere with you and use it for work, school etc. While also being able to game on it without the added bulk. SCREEN: This gaming laptop features a 13.4 inch WUXGA touch screen with a resolution of 1900x1200 with a refresh rate of 120HZ. Generally the higher the “Hz” The smoother the moving images will be. The screen itself comes in at 16:10 aspect ratio which means you get a little bit more screen space then the more traditional 16:9. The screen itself looks great, it is bright, colorful and looks crystal clear. Windows 10 home is the installed Operation System. PROCESSOR: featured is a high end AMD Ryzen 9, plenty of processing power for even the most advanced games. GPU: GeForce RTX 3050 Ti is a new graphics card from what im reading. In my opinion, it would be a mid tier graphics card if it were on a PC desktop, but its high end on a laptop (because laptop parts have to be smaller which means less powerful) with plenty of power to run a AAA title like Warzone and Apex at medium settings, and staying at around 60 frames/s (at 1080p) RAM:16GB, in my opinion is plenty to run any game out right now with no problems, it might not be future proof but for now it’s more than enough. MEMORY: 1TB SSD, faster then the older Hard drives, 1TB is more than enough memory to accommodate downloading a few big game titles. If you download enough games, HD movies, videos you will eventually run out of space but for a laptop 1TB is pretty good without having to spend a lot more money. FINGERPRINT SCANNER: it’s located on the power button on the right hand side, the power button is the fingerprint scanner. This is not obvious at first but when you find it, it is located in a very convenient place, after a while you don’t even have to look for it you just put your finger there, and so far it’s worked really well for me. Overall this is a really nice laptop, very powerful for such a small frame. If you are looking strictly for a gaming laptop, you might want to get one with a bigger screen, if you want an all-around great laptop you can take anywhere, then this one is it.

Great Laptop, but Not For Gaming

I purchased this laptop since I was sick of buying budget laptops that would break. I've had it less than a week, and may update this later, but here's what I've got to say about it so far. Overall: A great laptop for $1350, but wouldn't want to pay more for it than that. It makes an absolute beast for school or productivity (I'm a computer science student myself) and is *capable* of gaming, but I would not buy this for gaming given how hot it gets and how hard the fans were working after playing GTA for less than 5 minutes. Pros: - Screen is very nice in terms of crispness, colors, and brightness capabilities. There isn't much glare either. - The keyboard is nice, I like the texture and the way it types - It has lots of unique, helpful features such as the ability to change the fan speed/loudness, the keyboard lighting, and honestly just as a bunch of nice unique settings - When doing normal tasks (not gaming), it doesn't get warm at all and flies through everything with ease - Being a 2 in 1 with a good GPU is really great, and it's also very small and lightweight but has a wider screen ratio so it's a bigger screen in a smaller body Cons: - I wouldn't really recommend this for gaming, funny enough. I wasn't expecting a lot from it considering it's size, but it gets hot and the fans blare playing GTA even on the lowest graphics settings, instantly. I haven't bothered to try and other games because I don't want to fry the poor thing! However, it *was* capable of running GTA on the highest graphics settings no issue. It performed the same whether the graphics were low or ultra settings - I usually don't complain about a lot about little things, but this laptop does pick up on fingerprints and oils very easily. My keyboard looks twice as old as it is already from fingerprint oils sticking to it and showing - The plastic feels much better than the plastic on my old Lenovo, but it still is plastic and feels a bit flimsy - The speakers are pretty decent actually, but being on the bottom means they're kinda quiet in most scenarios - I knew the battery life would be meh considering it's size and power, but I wish it got better battery life while doing more basic tasks. Also doesn't charge very quickly

I would bet there is no better gaming laptop out there. Why do I say this? It offers everything you'd want in a gaming laptop or a serious business laptop, without making it a ball and chain tied to your leg. It provides an amazing gaming experience, in a compact laptop size. It has decent battery life, high performance, a display and video graphics card that will impress even the most hard to please gamers, and has standard 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. All of this in a laptop the size of most small 13" business laptops that are popular today. From the keyboard, to the backlit touch pad, to the modest styling (not flashy, less likely to be robbed for it/have it stolen), to the proper sized fan for cooling, it seems this was well thought out and will separate itself from the amateurs. Did I mention the power button doubles as a fingerprint reader? Or that it is also a convertible, into a tablet? Or that the sound coming out of the speakers is beyond amazing. As a business laptop, time is money. And this allows you to be most productive without a spinning wheel while it loads a page or saves/opens a large AutoCAD file. You can be off working or at least have open Outlook while you are listening to a web broadcast or working on AutoCAD. I've had many times I hear from peers in the drawing business that their bosses don't appreciate the productivity thing and cheap out. This is worth every penny if productivity is respected. This is the first time I've used a gaming laptop and have thought it can be equally business as well as gaming because of its size and weight, plus nobody would know. That means a few things. It can be a dual duty machine. Or it can be used for business without folks thinking you are just a gamer who brought your machine to work for the day. The 16:10 ratio display, the graphics card, and the RAM/SSD on board means it can tackle just about anything you can throw at it. But it is also a laptop that is easy to type on, and also the trackpad is responsive without having to scroll things 3 or 4 times to get a smooth scrolling on pages.

I bought this to replace my huawei amd laptop and figured may as well get a gaming laptop. It's powerful and has actually replaced my desktop for the time being. What I love about it: Lots of power. The AMD cpu and the graphics are fantastic. it is small and lightweight. Due to it's size, a second monitor or more is recommended. USB-C has been a mixed bag. I love that it can charge with other chargers, albeit no recommended. I use a 65w PD wall charger when I'm not gaming or just want to top it off while not using it. Trackpad feels amazing! finger just glides over it. I was not very interested in the tablet mode, but frankly it is fun for e-reading or watching movies. It functions very well. What I don't like: The USB-C ports are 3.2 gen 2, which seems to be limiting in terms of docking stations. Every powered usb-c hub I have used has not worked. In the end I used a USB-A docking station from dell and the included power supply. That does work well and have 3 extra monitors (for 4 total). It's a minor inconvenience now and I'm used to it. Power button can be annoying but nothing to really worry about. It doesn't have many ports but that's normal for something this form factor. After popping it open to see if I could upgrade ram or anything like that, the ram is fully integrated in, so that's going no where. The hard drive is using an m.2 port but it is the smallest one I have ever seen and likely would be hard to upgrade because of it's shorter length. At 1TB though, I think it is fine. So far it runs everything well but does get hot. I never keep it in my lap, so I'm not sure if it will burn your legs, but the top part of the keyboard does get extremely warm. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase and was very much one of the best bangs for the buck (I had been waiting to buy a laptop for 2 years until pd charging was on gaming laptops)

Really good laptop. The size and weight are perfect for my everyday needs. This laptop is great for classrooms with small flip tables and small laboratory spaces. The long battery life and low energy consumption allows me a good 5-8 hours of intermittent use between classes and studying in the library before requiring a charge. Playing games such as CS:GO and Bus Simulator 21 is great while on AC power and the graphics are very smooth (the FHD 120 Hz screen is amazing). The downside are the graphics card sometimes overheat and temporarily disabled on its own and vent locations (air intake underneath) does build heat rather quickly without using the included card board to prop up and allow more air ventilation. The lack of ports is not a problem as I have a J5Create hub that gives me additional USB ports. Overall, great design and good value when on sale! I have tested this with the XG Mobile (RTX 3080 mobile with 16GB VRAM) and it works even better! The heat is reduced a bit while connected on the XG Mobile. I haven't had much issues other than the time it takes changing from one GPU to the other.

The build of this laptop is amazing. So much in such light and tiny laptop. This is probably the lightest and most compact laptop I've seen that had a decent graphics card. I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon for work and I definitely think this laptop would be a great replacement for that. The only reason I ended up not keeping this one was because the limited number of ports and it has a very high pitched fan noise when playing games. I returned this one and ended up getting the M16 because their was an open box one available and it was only $1450. If you're looking for something that travels well and be able to do some light gaming while you're out and about, then this laptop will definitely fit the bill. The Ryzen 9 pretty much makes this laptop an awesome work laptop that also lets you do some media editing and light gaming. If I didn't have a Lenovo X1 Carbon for work, I would probably have kept this one but also have the M16 for my power user tasks.

Poor Marketing holds this laptop back

This laptop stands next to the M1 series of macs in nearly every aspect. Windows (ASUS) laptops have a marketing problem that holds them back from their true market potential. There is no reason this needs to be marketed as a gaming laptop and I honestly believe that is why this is the industries best kept secret! Great battery life paired up with a top of the line processor and dedicated graphics in a tiny package. This is Apple's bread and butter and why they sell so well to people in my industry (UX/Design) The only thing this laptop doesn't match with the new M1 Pro mac is the screen specs (1k nits is insane) and unheard of battery life. Otherwise this is the full package. I had the ROG G14 (felt chonky and cheap) Razer 14 (getting too close to the new Mac Pro price to not just jump ship - I use a 2016 macbook pro for work) and MSI Delta 15 (nearly had me) but I kept coming back to this laptop. It is just so much more portable and versatile with its tiny usb-c charger and ultra-portable frame, not to mention the touch screen and 2 in 1 functionality. So why was it so hard to decide? 1. In my line of work I am always looking for a decent panel that has good colors and pushes out enough light. The panel is not bad, but at 300 nits it pales in comparison to anything I have used in the last 5 years. 16:10 and 120hz should be industry standards but I would have spent another $100-200 to get a 500-1k nit panel. External monitors fix this but still, give me a bright panel. 2. The idea that a game will pop into existence that makes me want to get into it again. I don't play a lot anymore but knowing the 3060 in the Razer 14 (very similar footprint) can spit out another 30 frames made me hesitate. The one thing that kept me from the Razer 14 was that the base model screen was an absolute disaster and required a jump to the 3070 model ($2200) to get the better screen. I watch as reviewers gawk over Macs like they are marvels of tech (the new M1 chips are) but a laptop like this comes along and has to be marketed as a gaming laptop because reviewers are sent the model with the 3080 hanging off the side. I am extremely happy to see this laptop getting so much love in the BB comments section. If products like this are made more often and don't have to be tied to the 'gaming laptop' standard it would be sitting next to the Mac with reviewers. To the marketing team at Asus: You missed the mark. You made reviewers set this laptops benchmark at 'how does this compare to a 6lb monster with a 3080 and 300hz screen' as opposed to 'the most powerful and versatile professional laptop in the Windows camp.' To everyone still here: Buy this laptop. It has a ton of power in a tiny non-gamer chassis and it sips battery so it will last you the day if needed. Sure it would be nice to have a 3060, brighter screen, and a larger trackpad but not at the cost of a proprietary 2lb charger and an extra $500.

This is an excellent machine. I had a much older laptop that was very long in the tooth, and over the last year and a half started relying on it more for my new 3d printer. What lured me to this machine was the dedicated graphics card, and its convertible form factor. I mostly use an android tablet for basic things and browsing, but the digitizer was failing, so I wanted to get a convertible laptop that could do both. It was a tall order, but this machine delivers. The Ryzen proecessor and the dedicated Nvidia GPU make it easy to manage my 3d files. I think its more capable than my work laptop that I run SolidWorks on. I was a bit conerned about moving to a smaller screen, but once I got it I loved it - I don't even notice that its smaller. The keyboard is very nice to type on as well. So I am clearly not a gamer, but this machine still has the guts to handle some serious graphic intense apps. Since I am not a gamer the external graphics card port isn't necessary, and I would prefer to have another USB port on the left side of the machine. Its size and lightness is wonderful, and it works well as a tablet when I need it. I recommend this for anyone needing a smaller machine with heavy weight preformance - even if you are not a gamer.

I am super happy with this laptop. I purchased 3 of them all open box. One for me, one for my partner, one for my sister. My sisters motherboard needed to be replaced, but with total tech and manufacturer warranty it was no big deal. My partner was REALLY rough on their charging cable and it needed to be replaced after a year. Mine has had no issues. The touch screen is super helpful, and I love that you can use it as a tablet. The windows pen integrates nicely. Not quite as seamless as my iPad pro and Apple Pencil, but close! I easily run two games and a few browsers simultaneously with no lag. Bulky games run smoothly at med-high graphics quality settings. The battery life is longer than the estimate provided in their specs. The display is nice, and easy to sync with a second display. My only negative is the speakers on the bottom end up making everything super quiet and headphones are super necessary.

Although this is advertised as a gaming laptop, this machine is actually the size and weight of an ultrabook, and the 2-in-1 form factor with the touchscreen and active digitizer make this an excellent travel work/productivity device which also happens to be able to play AAA games at reasonably high settings. The CPU performance is amazing courtesy of the Ryzen 5900HS, and GPU performance is amazing as well for the size and weight with the 3050ti. This will run any game at medium/high settings at the native 1920x1200 resolution with good framerates, and the integrated graphics is decent as well for gaming on battery. The touchscreen seems to work well and I like that it also supports a stylus (not included unfortunately), although the software could use some work as the touchpad isn't disabled when folded so it's easy to get accidental clicks. The touchpad can be manually disabled with FN+F10 but it's still an annoying oversight. My only other complaints are the non-upgradeable RAM and the fact that this config only has 16GB, and the non-standard short m.2 drive which makes upgrading more difficult with much more limited options. Asus should have made 32GB the base config for this machine, RAM limits will be the first major performance bottleneck this otherwise amazing machine will encounter. Minus one star for the low quantity of non-upgradeable RAM since this really limits what the machine can do in current workloads, not to mention how it will limit the machine in the future. Overall excellent machine though if you don't need a huge amount of RAM, and the price is very competitive compared to other premium 2-in-1 devices which are the same size/weight but are significantly slower.

This laptop is a true powerhouse packed into a sleek and portable design. The slim profile and lightweight design make it easy to carry, allowing for gaming on the go without compromising performance. The battery life is decent for a gaming laptop, providing enough juice for several hours of non-gaming tasks. The laptop tends to run on the warmer side. Consider using an additional cooling pad or optimizing in-game settings to strike a balance between performance and temperature control.

Absolutely love this laptop so far. Pros: - Lightweight - Tiny - Still powerful (I've run all my games just fine on it such as GTA5, The Long Dark, Fortnite, Raft, Minecraft, Tom's Clancy's Wildlands, COD, etc.) Cons: - Only 1 USB Type A port - Only 1 USB Type C port (which is also for power) - Gets really hot I should have read the specs better but it would be better if the laptop had a 2nd USB Type C port in the back for power. Ok, looks like the x-mobile port accepts USB-C and does get power from that side as well. Very cool! Overall, awesome little machine.

Thoughts / Light Review from a Razer/MacBook User

I got this laptop for mostly media consumption and some light gaming when away from my desktop. It is also meant to be my MacBook replacement since it's quite old (about 6 years). Build Quality - 8/10 The feel of the laptop is great but there's a few little things that preventing it from being perfect. The rubber feet really don't do much if you have this laptop at an angle. The screen also has a bit of wobble. These are not deal breakers but just simply little things that keep the laptop build from being the best. The screen wobble is not terrible but they could have done better, for example the Dell XPS13 2in1 has no wobble. Overall, the laptop feels like a premium machine and the inside base feels quite good even though that part is made out of plastic. The design ascetics such as the scanlines on the top and bottom as well as the exhaust vents are well done so the laptop doesn't scream gamer laptop. The ASUS ROG logo in the front is also very tasteful. Software - 7/10 I'm judging this a bit harsh because I absolutely can't stand bloatware. I don't know why Asus has like 7 different apps installed when the only one that really is needed is the Armory Crate. The Armory Crate app itself is also a bit buggy and something will notify me multiple times that the laptop is in a particular mode when nothing changes. For example, I was testing the batter while browsing yesterday and the silent mode icon kept popping up every few minutes. No idea what that was about but I didn't get the issue today. The armory crate app itself is not the greatest as well. You have to dig around for things and a simple search button would be nice. Battery Life - 10/10 The battery life on this laptop is great. I got about 8 hours of web browsing and video viewing (youtube at 4K or 1080p) with the brightness turned up all the way. I also did some some gaming as well on battery mode and got 2 hours while playing Genshin Impact (1080p Medium) with the brightness turned up to max on the iGPU. Compared to my Razer Blade Stealth which got 1 hour on battery while gaming and 2 hours of web browsing, this is a welcome improvement. Keyboard - 10/10 The keyboard is probably the best thing about this laptop in my opinion. I don't know what to say about it besides that it feels right. The key travel travel and spacing feels great. These keyboards are well lit and are fairly quite as well. I absolutely hated the keyboard on my Razer Blade Stealth which felt so mushy. Trackpad - 8/10 The tracking is good. I saw reviews saying it was just OK in a few videos so I was expecting something a bit subpar which would have been a deal breaker for me but it's not that. The trackpad feels quite smooth and the gestures work great. The only reason I'm not giving it a 10 is because of the size. It's not small but it's not specious either, it'll get the job done. It feels similar to my Razer trackpad but just smaller. Gaming Performance - 10/10 For a 13 inch laptop, this performs exceptionally well. I did a Furmark GPU stress test for 10 minutes and the laptop maintained temperatures at 71 degrees for the dedicated GPU and 65 degrees for the iGPU. This was in a room that was quite warm since I turned off the AC for the testing just as a worse case scenario. Regarding the CPU test, I ran a Prime95 test as well for 10 minutes and got a max temperature of 86 degrees while maintain clocks at 3.66 GHz. I tested Genshin Impact at max settings and was able to comfortably get 60 FPS at 1080p. The iGPU is also quite powerful since I was able to run Genshin Impact for about 2 hours and got 30-45 FPS. This was also on battery mode as well under the Silent profile. The temps ranged from 77-81 degrees while the fan was pretty silent.

Finally a laptop to replace the desktop. Speed, capacity and graphics. Boot up in seconds. Ample storage thanks to the 1tb SSD. Full 16gb RAM. AMD RYZEN multi-core 5000 chipset. FHD 120HZ 16:10 display. ON/OFF finger print reader. Comes with HDMI output as well as wireless display capability thanks to native windows-10. The touch screen functions like a tablet by folding the =keyboard over which disables the keypad for easy tablet work. I love the audio and backlit keyboard. USB, USB-C ports come in handing for charging and other accessories. System Checkup via MyASUS.

Laptop is crazy light at 3 lbs. The 16:10 ratio is great for productivity as well as gaming. The G14 felt a bit weird in comparison since the screen feels very smushed down in addition to being slightly heavier. If you want portability while still being able to play games on low-medium, this is a great machine. I couldn't find any comparable laptop to this with a 3050ti that's currently on the market. Also if you ever want to make this a desktop replacement, the XG mobile that goes with this if it would be a great addition.. if it ever finds itself in stock. I play Apex legends and with all the graphic settings on low I can push 90-120 frames. Pushing it onto 1080p 16:9 ratio monitor I can push up to 144 frames. I will note the response time of the monitor is a little low. So the motion looks way different comparison to my 1ms external monitor. That being said games are playable, but it you will notice the lower response time.

Pros: Good when the 3050TI is turned off. Cons: Chews through battery life super fast when the 3050TI is turned on, heats up crazy fast when 3050TI is turned on, fans super loud. I've had this laptop for 2 years now and it's been good for everyday use, gets good battery life, and is a good 2 in 1. This all changes when the 3050TI gets turned on. Fans spin super loud, you are lucky to get 2 hours of battery life, the system heats up. Basically, if you want to use the 3050TI it basically requires it to be plugged in, and at that point you are better off getting a desktop. If you want to use it for everyday, it is a good machine though, usually between 8-10 hour battery when the 3050TI is off.

      Dear ErikL,

We do understand your concern about the fan noise and battery draining faster than normal.

It is normal just like any other brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal and the battery drain faster when the RTX 3050 Ti GPU was turned on. The GPU utilizes additional power while the laptop is under heavy load like during gaming. Also, the fan noise will be louder while antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. Please check that the system was not compromised by viruses or malware by doing a full system scan using an internet security software or application. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down.
