I love this laptop. It has great specs and easily outperforms others in same price range. I use it daily for gaming as I travel a lot and always on the go. It can play gta5 on ultra settings... It's built of solid materials and never gets super hot like most laptops. I really like it. Only downside is the record button above the escape key, but I disabled the record program it would run, so no worries. Definitely would buy again

This machine is a beast! I bought this to upgrade from my Asus G73JH that I also bought from Best Buy about 4 years ago. This laptop out performs that laptop by leaps and bounds. Before, I had to run most games at medium to low settings. This machine can run all my games at their highest settings and still be completely playable. I would love to give this review 5*'s, but I have a few issues with it. When I first got it, it has a bright pixel in the middle of the screen. Since this laptop was only available online, I had to send it to ASUS to have the screen swapped out. They were nice enough to send me a Next Day Air shipping lable, and had the laptop back to me within 7 days. There appears to be a single speaker for the sound, and it doesn't sound good at all. I was disappointed once I discovered this since my G73JH had excellent sound, and I figured this would be the case with this latop. Sadly I was mistaken. Another issue I'm having, and currently in the process of figuring out is that I can not run Asus Backtracker to get a recovery USB. I've tried/bought several different USB's and still can not get it to backup. The last gripe is a two parter. It's about the keyboard. The layout is not the greatest. I don't understand why the "capture" key is just above the esc key. I can't tell you how many times I've been in game and sent to desktop because of it. Part 2 is the NumLk key is not in the normal location. The "Asus" key is in the normal spot that the NumLk key should be in, and it doesn't stay active after a reboot like every other laptop in my house. One thing I highly suggest after you get the G751JT is put in an SSD. This thing will boot into windows in less than 8 seconds. Simply amazing! Overall, I'm very happy with this laptop, and would recommend it to anyone in the market for one.

So my last laptop was asus and throughout my last laptops life I have had nothing but great things to say about it. It worked and did everything I needed it to do. I just needed an updated version with better graphics. So for pros I cannot say enough about this laptop. it has everything you need. and for the price you cannot beat it. the only thing I would say is that you will need a special bag to carry this around because it is big. but again it is replacing my laptop and also my desktop. If anyone is reading this stop reading and buy it. I did a lot of research on this laptop. You cant beat their warranty either.

Nice upgrade from my old G73JH

My old Asus G73JH that I purchased from Best Buy four years ago was getting a little long in the tooth. I looked for months for a reasonably priced upgrade. I considered MSI, Lenovo before finding the G75 line of laptops. This is a nice upgrade to the G73JH. I had no issues with the display. The keyboard is nice though I find the location of the capture button and the Gaming Center buttons can be annoying at times. I tried using the Asus Backtracker to backup and restore the hard drive to my 250GB SSD drive without success. If you want to use the Backtracker software, make sure your SSD is at least 500GB. I believe the partition sizes created by Backtracker for the restore are too small on a 250GB hard drive. I finally gave up on using Backtracker and installed Windows 8 from USB stick. The Windows 8 key is stored in the bios of the laptop and activated without issue. I can't give the laptop five stars due to a couple of issues. The power cable and headphone jacks are on the right side of the laptop which can be annoying when trying to use a mouse. The power cord also comes unplugged from the laptop very easily. Others have complained about the audio drivers. I get sound from both speakers and the subwoofer, but the subwoofer dominates the sound. I believe the full range audio comes through the tiny subwoofer. I still recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a reasonably priced gaming laptop.

I bought this as a gift for a student in design technology running programs such as CAD. It is faster than the computers in the lab at the technical school. He is happy with it! A good compromise obtaining good speed without getting the most top end system and going in debt. I like the backlit keyboard, but I have not been able to use the computer myself so I am going on his feedback.

I was initially going to purchase Model: G751JL-BSI7T28 SKU: 2995081, but then I saw what I could buy for $120 more. 3GB dedicated video & 16 GB RAM... Ridiculous upgrade! Worth every penny - 1 month in & zero issues, amazing performance, & it looks awesome (I know, it matches the other ASUS units - well done design)! Powerful, quiet, & has ran every game so far at top specs without issue. It actually stays very cool too, I've had it on my laptop for over an hour without issue - prior laptops would burn! Only negatives are it is heavy, no touch screen, & no BluRay... I can live with that. I had to order it & wait 2 days, but again, I can live with that. 2-day shipping ended up being free & the Salesman was great to work with. Accessories, bought a non-gaming mouse (Logitech Bluetooth) & went back a day later - highly recommend you pick a gaming mouse up. Bag selection was poor, as none fit the 17.6 screen size. I did also buy the 2-sided gaming mouse pad (Insignia), that was also a nice addition, Service plan / Geek Squad - get it...seriously, just get it, always get it on items $300 & up from Best Buy. Accidental plan if you are able to. Thanks, hope this helped you make your decision.

Great laptop the only reason it gets a 4 star and not 5 is because the battery issue many deal with. Mine lasted me a few years but replacement is difficult. So i guess what im saying is they need to have a replaceable battery.

Biggest Bang for Your Gaming Buck!

This is the ultimate beast of a gaming machine. I waited and waited for this model to be available for sale on best buy's website and finally was one of the lucky few that got it. There is another model available for $250 with a 250gb SSD and not worth the extra money IMHO. I purchased this laptop to supplement my gaming desktop that I also purchased from BestBuy. I have a ton of steam games that are graphics intensive (i.e. tomb raider, battlefield 4, dragon age, skyrim, etc.# and wanted the same desktop experience while I am on the road. I purchased an asus nomad backpack to accommodate this laptop, all my gaming accessories and cables. I have owned this beast for only a few days and in the process of downloading and installing all my steam and battlenet games. Before I set my sights on this beast, I researched alienware, msi, Toshiba, cyberpower, and sony. There were a lot of negative reviews for broken and cracked screens, displays not functioning, fingerprints, and shipping nightmares. Is it too much to ask for Styrofoam or peanuts? and not sure why the scuff marks and finger prints. Based what I have read and my own experience, I can deduce that 90% of the negative reviews were due to poor handling and bad shipping practices. Other than the minor cosmetic defects, this laptop has met and exceeded my expectations. Pros: Fast, gamer rugged design, esthetically pleasing, BIG, efficient cooling, backlit keyboard that you can turn on and off, quick access to steam, gorgeous graphical output, Cons: Minor flaws in design, no original windows key or software, no video tutorial, no blu ray drive, packaging material was sketchy, large scuff marks on back of display #black portion) and finger prints on my mouse pad.

This was my first Asus and I was a little hesitant based on some reviews I had read but my son couldn't be happier. This computer is really great. Super fast and the display is beautiful. He loves the red backlit keys. This was a big purchase for me but with Best Buy's 18 month no finance it helped a lot. Oh and Josh Burns with Geek Squad in Gainesville Va is the best of the best, Best Buy your really lucky to have him. My only complaint is I was sent a 6 month Kapersky with the computer and it conflicted with windows 8.1 so I had to uninstall it.

    Excellent Laptop for Gamers

This laptop is basically a repurchase of the model above it. I owned it for its 45 day period, and returned it prior to the expiration because I didn't notice they were the same thing at first glance, and I wasn't going to pay 400$ more for a pre-installed SSD. This laptop is excellent and has many great qualities for what its intended purchase is, gaming. I was torn between the ASUS and MSI, and finally took a swing at the ASUS product. I have owned ASUS before and trust the company and product, and lets face it, most computers today have ASUS hardware in it. The main reason I chose the ASUS and gave up the portability of the MSI is because of Air Flow. The ASUS reigns supreme in this category. The size isn't all that intimidating if your using a case to move it around, lets face it, 10lbs isn't that much weight to hold. As far as aesthetics, the look, feel, and presentation of the laptop is nice. Very nice. I do wish they would use a different coating material as the oils from your fingers do wear in rather quickly. Constant cleaning will slow this down though. I also intend to continue programming on the laptop as portability and being able to sit outside and work to me is appealing vs always being cooped up in my office. The GPU is the 970M 3GB dedicated graphics, which is nice. It is able to hand full 1080P without a glitch, and games on ultra high settings. I do recommend adding in an SSD or two, depending on your needs for this. Its simple, the back comes off, you slide it in, flash over the OS and voila done. Whats even better is this does not void the ASUS warranty on the product. They want you to add the SSD and with ease might I add. Other than that its a really solid product. Pros: Fast, great graphics, amazing look and feel, durable, large screen, great airflow, QUIET Cons: Size doesn't fit most 17" bags, didn't come with an SSD and for 400$ they added one.

Purchased this laptop about two months ago and waited to get it nice and broken in before doing a review, and it does not disappoint. -Pros Powerful Responsive Amazing performance with it's 970m Hard drive comes in 2 500gb partitions, so keep that in mind when you want to download and install things, I keep my OS on the first partition and have the second partition for my entertainment. Other than that, an SSD would have been nice, but I plan on installing one in the near future anyways. 16gb of memory works great, overall, it's a solid performer, feels very robust and has some good weight to it, handles my schoolwork easily, and all of my games at a breeze.
