Worth every penny I put into purchasing this thing. More than I really need, but wanted. Practically have a screen the size of a television. This computer has a decent size solid state drive. Boot up is super fast. Practically takes 5 seconds. Processor has a boost up 3.5 Gigahertz. Can play videos up to 4K no problem. You would just need good internet to play YouTube at 4K. Video games at normal to high Graphics is no problem at all. May be a gaming computer, but great for work and video editing as well. Even has a adjustable brightness lighted keyboard. The only issue I found with this product is the screen size. I will need to purchase a new bag to fit this behemoth. The weight is not too big of an issue. Some people reviewed that the speakers being at the back is a bad idea, but it doesn't bother me. Lastly, it came with Windows 8. Luckily though, you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free, but only for a limited time.

Bought this to replace an older ROG with a failed hard drive (that one was purchased in 2010 so figured it wasn't really worth dumping money into a hard drive for "ancient" tech...) Didn't feel that it was worth the extra $300 for the extra 8gig of ram and slightly faster CPU - this laptop is a beast and so far has run everything I've thrown at it without a hitch. The ONLY reasons I don't give it 5 stars: 1. Not available in a store (must be ordered online - hated the wait! lol) 2. Hard drives were strangely partitioned - actually has "2" roughly 500 gig drives and "2" rougly 128gig SSD "drives" which makes things interesting when separating games/data (without paying extra for something like Partition Magic). Other than that though, very reasonably priced!

PROS: This is a high-quality gaming laptop, I am able to run all games at ultra with a good fps. I can even run high requirement games, such as Assassin's Creed Unity, on ultra with around 45 fps. The sound quality of the laptop is great also. It even has dual fans, which keep the laptop very silent when gaming. The laptop has never gotten hot, it's always cool. If you want more fps, it has a built-in overclocking. I also bought this laptop to use AutoCAD a lot and it runs flawlessly. CONS: This is not a laptop that you would want to get if you are looking for a mobile laptop, it weighs 8.4 pounds, so it is heavy. If you want a desktop replacement laptop, then this will meet your needs. Overall this is a great laptop and I have had no problems with it so far. You really get what you pay for. I recommend this for any hardcore gamer or for someone who will be using it for professional programs, so as AutoCAD. This is the holy grail for someone who is looking for a work/gaming laptop.

I have tried several laptops out before, and then I read the reviews on this laptop. The reviews were exceptional and led me to believe that this laptop might just be the one I've been looking for all along. Well, I took the plunge, cause they're not cheap, and there are several reasons why. For one, this boots up in only 7 seconds. 7 SECONDS!! The graphics are outstanding and the sound is very good too. You will have to get a special laptop backpack that will allow this bad boy to fit in. Your average laptop bag will not work.

9/10 I bought this laptop because I wanted a gaming laptop on the go that was capable of playing the newest games with top of the line graphics with out any frame rate issues or hick ups and this does and excellent job at doing that as well as performing my needs for school including creating documents and reveiwing my emails and such. The only downside is it's size it not really as portable as I was hoping it was, but what should you expect from a 17" laptop. That's why I feel as if this laptop is more of a desk top replacement and is the only reason I gave it a 9/10 I probably should have gone with a 15" and saved myself about $500. It was very easy to upgrade to windows 10 which I enjoy very much since cortana helps me to browse the internet and my files very easily just by saying "hey cortana" and then what ever I'm looking for and even opens files for me and reminds me of things I need to do throughout the day.

The planning in the design of this computer is excellent! Even though it's known as an awesome gaming machine, well if you're wanting to make & edit videos, animations, graphic programs such as CAD programs, or high end photo editing programs, this computer is for you! How do I know? I use all those types of programs and believe me, animation programs alone use every bit of memory to crunch and compress the end files and this ASUS makes it look easy. Years back I tried it on another brand and it couldn't handle it. And I will say this too, I will never buy any other brand of a computer except for an ASUS which I will only buy or use personally for the rest of my life. I really like their design, their power, and their backing of the customer. And Best Buy is the only place I will go to buy my laptops, well as long as they keep carrying ASUS ha ha and I'm sure they will since they know electronics too!!

This computer packs an obscene amount of power. The GPU contained, will handle anything you can throw at it, easily runs all of the newest games with ease, and also drops some incredible bench mark numbers. 24 GB of fast DDR3L memory ensures that you can run photo, and video editing software, while streaming youtube videos seamlessly. This product will be powerful enough to handle everything coming down the pipeline for some years to come. Great job Asus. A++

I've had my Asus for a month and am very impressed in every way. Had/have a Hi- end, 2010 laptop with win7, and this, with win 8.1 makes it feel very outdated. Starts up in mere seconds. It can handle any video and graphics. No reflections on the screen due to the matte finish, which shows very clear and stunning picture quality. It has a heavy and solid feel. I recommend it highly.

Very solid build, heavy weight but gives more of that physical feeling that it is a strong laptop that can be pushed hard without worry of overheating or giving out on you. The battery last a little while without being plugged in but most users to buy this machine must expect that the battery life is going to be a lot less than a normal laptop due to the fact of it having to support heavy payloads.

It's absolutely amazing if you're looking for a laptop to game with. It's all up to date and runs better than even some of the desktops my friends use. It runs really fast and can even play some of the most demanding games in terms of graphics and processing speed. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to game and have the convenience of a laptop.

This is a great, powerful machine that is definitely work the price. Got it updated with 32GB of RAM, 1 TB hard drive, as well as a 256 GB solid state drive booster. The i7 processor makes the computer lightning fast, and it boots up within seconds. As an engineering student, it is exactly what I need to get all my work done.

Has the power and performance to handle advanced video and photo editing, but would benefit quite a bit from a larger SSD C://OS drive and SSD file storage replacing its internal HDD, something sure to come in future models. Beats out everything else I've seen in today's offerings, though.

good graphics , sound, memory, and gaming abilitys

Yes, this laptop is expensive, but you get what you pay for... I would only recommend this for a hardcore gamer or someone doing intensive tasks like CAD or video production...otherwise, you can spend about $1,000 less for an ASUS ROG that will be more than adequate... However, if you need the horsepower, this machine delivers... The 4GB graphics card is insane (Shadow of Mordor looks ridiculously good); running Windows 8.1, the start up time with the screaming fast SSD is literally like 10 seconds. Plus a very adequate amount of storage with the 1TB spinner... Screen is gorgeous, keyboard keys feel great, very rugged and durable... For me, the most impressive aspect is the cooling system; the surface stays cool at all times and you can really feel the heat being discharged by the fans through the back; great design... The only knock would be the size and weight; it's a heavy beast...if you're planning on carrying it around, get a large backpack (the ASUS gaming backpack is sweet) and hit the gym a lot... Overall, a great laptop!!

This is the second one I've bought and I love this brand, even compared to alienware. It plays everything I want except witcher 3 but that's optimized for Xbox one/ ps4 and that it has a high bar for requirements. It took me awhile to get used to new is and separate drives but I love it.

I've been using this product for a couple months now, and I love it. It's quite fast, boots in seconds, and plays videos and games like that's what it's made for.

If your looking for a super fast gaming laptop that dont break the bank when purchasing it... this is it .. half the price of a alienware with same specs.

You get what you pay for, 24 GB ram make it close to impossible at least for me to run it all! D: This laptop can easily handle whatever you throw at it at max settings with no lag with its 4gb 980m card which can compare to the performance you get from a PC! C: Would recommend it to anyone who looks for an awesome laptop at a good reasonable price!

Using the ASUS ROG G751 is a dream, nothing it can't do, the build quality and the fit & finish is 2nd to non, love the way they do that :-) Performance is amazing, fan's quiet, could not be better
