This little ROG 65W Charger Dock is deceptively simple—just a wall plug with a few ports slapped on the side, right? But once you plug your Ally into it, it’s like watching your handheld evolve into its final form. Suddenly, you're not just hiding in the kitchen with a portable—you’re gaming on the big screen, charging at full tilt, and pretending the HDMI cable draped across your living room is a deliberate design choice.
It charges fast, handles docked output without frying anything, and hasn’t caught fire—so ASUS gets points for the basics. The HDMI output is crisp and stable, which means I can actually run a gaming session on the TV without dragging out the laptop or explaining to my kids why dad's Steam Deck has a keyboard now.
That said, this thing is THICC for a charger. It hogs space on my outlet like it's paying rent, and the USB-A port is USB 2.0, which at this point feels like ASUS slipped in a museum exhibit just to mess with us. You won’t be transferring any files at warp speed, but for charging accessories or plugging in a controller dongle, it gets the job done.
One other gripe? It’s almost a dock—but it’s not quite. You only get the one HDMI and a couple ports, so if you’re dreaming of turning your Ally into a full desktop setup, you’ll still need something like the JSAUX dock or a powered hub. But for what it is—a travel-friendly, charge-and-go hybrid—it nails the essentials.
In short: this dock is perfect for what I need 80% of the time. It lets me charge and game anywhere, turns my Ally into a couch console in seconds, and makes me feel like a tech wizard… until I realize I’ve now used up my last free outlet and the toaster’s unplugged again.
Still worth it.

This is weirdly the only charger I have tha can consistently reach 100% charge on my ROG Ally after the battery upgrade to the Ally X's battery. I have tried many, multiple 65 watt gan chargers from Anker and Aohie, a 110 watt Anker brick, the Official Ally Charger of course, the 65 watt ROG phone charger, the Samsung 65 watt charger as well as a couple others. Most of the time they reach 99% and sometimes hit the 100. The HDMI and USB are also convenient. Plus is goes on sale here for half off often enough.

Bought this as I'm basically buying the entire line of ROG Ally products but to share a few things I noticed along the way with the time I've had with it so far.
One: this is a no brainer! It has HDMI 4K output via PD cable connectivity from the Ally AND includes a usb port to hook up either a mouse/keyboard adapter bundle, even a wired controller works! Also, is a Ally charger in itself! Bang for the buck, I say.
Second: I wouldnt say a con but this bad boy GETS HOT! After a good hour play through on Elder Ring (4K, no stuttering either btw) this guy was hot. I pushed it for another hour, still no problems but it was HOT! Do yourself and mental anguish a favor and get the geek squad "Accendental Replacement" add on. It covers so much and you can play without any worry.

The ASUS ROG 65W Charger Dock is a fantastic all-in-one solution for anyone who needs power, portability, and functionality. It easily charges my ROG Ally and also lets me connect to an external monitor via HDMI—perfect for gaming or work on the go. The compact design is travel-friendly, and the included braided USB-C cable is high quality. I love that it also includes a USB-A port for peripherals. For its size and price, it packs serious value. Highly recommend for handheld gaming setups or anyone looking to simplify their mobile tech gear!

Game-changing accessory! Picked up this ROG 65W Charger Dock for my Ally at Best Buy, and it's the ultimate upgrade for stationary setup. Delivers rock-solid 65W charging while unlocking desktop mode—HDMI 2.0 ports crisp 1080p/60Hz to my monitor for big-screen gaming sessions in Elden Ring or productivity in Armoury Crate. The USB-A and USB-C ports handle peripherals like my mouse, keyboard, and external SSD effortlessly, turning the Ally into a mini-battle station without extra adapters. Compact black design matches the ROG aesthetic perfectly, and the braided cable is durable for daily docking—overheat-free even during marathon charges.Best Buy was spot-on: killer bundle price with my Ally purchase, free in-store pickup, and the gaming experts demoed the HDMI hookup on the spot. Geek Squad threw in setup tips, plus My Best Buy points for more gear. If you're maximizing your ROG Ally, dash to Best Buy for this dock—versatile, vital, victorious. Fingers crossed for that review prize! Level up with ASUS and Best Buy!

I have found this as the best “docking” station option for the ROG Ally products. No issues with HDMI connection, ability to charged and the extra USB port allows you to connect a mouse and keyboard if needed. Great item for the price. Can get hot, but never caused any issues.

Essential accessory for ROG Ally

This adapter works great and seamlessly. While the Ally is great as a portable, handheld gaming device, the option to hook it up to a larger screen is great when that is desired. It doesn’t come with an HDMI cable, but aside from getting one of those, using the adapter is as simple as plugging it in to the wall, the Ally, and a tv. The console automatically detects the second screen. Having it charge the Ally while in use is convenient, and there is very little latency in the image on the second screen.

This is an excellent add-on for the ROG Ally handhelds. The HDMI port allows connectivity to a TV and/or Monitor. The USB C port connects with the ROG Ally and the USB A port will support a single device or in my case I've connected a 4-port powered USB Hub to it and power my Thrustmaster Joystick and 2 Elgato Stream Decks through it. The 65 watts charge my unit very quickly.
Aside from the docking capabilities one of the other features I like about this versus the standard charger is the fact that the connection from it to the Ally is a USB C cable so when putting the charger into my Ally carrying case I can disconnect it from both the Ally and the charger. This makes it much easier to store as you don't have to deal with the usual wrapping of a cable around the charger.

This is an excellent alternative to the stock charger as this is much more compact. I have used this for connecting to many different TV's at hotels. My only gripe is that it has only one USB port. This would have been perfect with 2 - 3 usb ports. There are cheaper alternatives out there but not with the quality and compactness of this.

A great concept that starts to fall apart

The concept of this is great. Having a dock built in to a charging block makes it great for portability, especially with a foldable plug. However, where this starts to fall apart is the price to performance ratio. I would not recommend this for the price of $65. The HDMI port is only HDMI 2.0, meaning if you have something like an ROG Ally X that can (potentially) run games up to 4K 120FPS with variable refresh rate/auto low latency mode, then you're limiting yourself. I also think for the price the USB port should use the 3.0 standard. If this is half off then maybe I could recommend it

This is crucial if you own the Asus Rog Ally or any other Rog laptop. I have tested like 3 usbc hubs along with my 144hz gaming monitor and, one of them were an Asus brand usbc hub with dual 4k display and a usbc port for power pass through. It works but when plugged in there is an Armoury crate dialgoe box saying that the power hub supplied isnt enough or something for performance mode; please use the included charger that the Ally came with , or something like that. Though it works sjowing 120hz, other non branded hubs show otherwise up to 60hz, and stuck at 30hz where ehen you play a hame , in full screen mode it will quit saying there’s no supported graphics card, which is absurd. This ROG GAMING CHARGER DOCK is the real deal; 120hz (depending on your monitor otherwise 60hz), NO Armoury crate error saying power isnt enough- its just the only hub 100 thet will work for the Ally if youre connecting to a monitor. My only complainis the stock, theyre sometimes sold out and also not in stores.

I recently had the opportunity to test the 65W ROG Charger with HDMI 2.0 Port, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. This charger not only delivers rapid charging capabilities but also offers the added convenience of an HDMI 2.0 port, enabling seamless connectivity with monitors or TVs.
One standout feature of this charger is its ability to charge the R.O.G Ally to 80 percent capacity in just 40 minutes. This level of efficiency is truly impressive, making it ideal for users on the go who require a quick power boost. The charger's robust power output ensures a reliable and stable charging experience.
The inclusion of the HDMI 2.0 port is a welcome addition, allowing users to effortlessly connect their devices to external displays and enjoy high-definition content. The seamless transmission of audio and video signals further enhances the overall user experience.
In conclusion, the 65W Charger with HDMI 2.0 Port is a remarkable charging solution that combines rapid charging capabilities with the convenience of an HDMI connection. Its ability to charge the R.O.G Ally to 80 percent in just 40 minutes is nothing short of impressive. Whether you're a busy professional or a multimedia enthusiast, this charger is a reliable and efficient companion that will elevate your charging and connectivity needs.

If you have a Steam Deck or a Nintendo Switch, I cannot recommend this enough. With a firmware update, it will flawlessly work with just about any TV or computer monitor that I throw at it, making it an excellent travel companion when you want to play on a big screen. Fairly compacy and powerful enough to charge most of my devices without any problems, this is really a game changer (and I’m glad that Asus ensured other devices could use it). If I could change one thing, it would have a longer and less stiff USB-C cable in the box (and maybe a matching, long HDMI cable to go with it).
