The Falcata Is Better Than I Expected

I have been using the new Asus ROG Falcata for a couple weeks now. I have been debating on how to review it as it is a very niche product. This is a not just a normal gaming keyboard as it splits in two section to allow for better placement of keys to the natural placement of your hands. Let's call it an ergonomic, gaming keyboard. First off, it is a 75% keyboard which is naturally smaller as it eliminates the 10-keypad and compresses arrow keys into the layout. I am a touch typist and I will tell you right now that the split takes some serious getting used to for normal use. I generally have to combine the two sides to type on it and split it back a part to play games. Maybe that is the intent all along and maybe if I typed on it longer split apart I would just get used to it, but since I have other computers I use on a daily basis this feels very one-off. The keys themselves feel great and the hall-effect switches are adjustable in software which makes this keyboard ideal for gaming. You can really dial in the 'feel' you need. Couple the hall-effect switches with the 8000hz polling rate and you have a very competitive keyboard. It is fast... very fast. Build quality is also top notch and it does not feel like a toy in the slightest. It is beefy and highly dampened to keep it quiet. Battery life is generally good with the lights off and or dropping the polling rate. I found the best combination when playing games was keep the polling rate up and the lights off. I only charge it twice in the last couple weeks which is a nice improvement from some of my other wireless keyboards that basically just have to be wired most of the time. Overall, I don't have any real complaints as it serves a very niche purpose of being a competitive/pro level gaming keyboard. If that is what you need then this should be on your short list. If you are looking for something a little more productive oriented, the Falcata will do the job, but given its price you can probably do better for less. The Falcata's ability of splitting into two sections is a neat trick, but only useful in very specific situations (i.e. gaming). I like it, but I don't love it.

Pro: -Great feeling keys -Web based software -Customizability -Battery life Con: -Link cable gets in the way The Falcata is definitely a niche keyboard, but if you happen to fall into that niche, it’s a great keyboard. It’s made to be either a full feature keyboard or as a gaming keypad. The build quality is completely solid. The keys feel great to type on, with more of a light sounding thonk. The keycaps have almost no wobble. It’s a little strange to have that split down the middle, especially for the space bar, but it was easy to adjust to it. There’s no software installation needed since it’s all web based, and most of the features can be adjusted on the keyboard directly. The build quality feels very solid. The keyboard splits down the middle and is held together with magnets. There’s a USB C connection for the link cable, and another one for the charging. The link cable sticks up from the top and doesn’t look very neat, and also can get in the way. The keyboard comes with additional feet to adjust the tilt, or even making it angled sideways. The palmrest seems over engineered in my opinion. They are attached to these triangle plates that you then screw on to the keyboard. I guess they want you to be able to lift the keyboard by the palmrest and also be able to customize the feet underneath? It’s a little cumbersome initially, but it’s super solid once it’s set. The multiwheel can be used to adjust volume, lighting, and actuation point. The wheel can be hard to scroll and I usually end up clicking on it instead. Each sub category has a meter indicating the levels of adjustment. It’s a little confusing so I’d rather use Gear Link to adjust all the settings, but it’s good to be able to adjust the settings directly on the keyboard. There’s a lot of features to talk about. Aside from being able to adjust the actuation point on a per key basis, the Rapid Trigger and Speed Tap can be a game changer for fast reaction and movements. The Rapid Trigger allows the keys to be activated on the up travel, making it quicker to respond to the next press. It’s like you’re taking half steps while strafing. Speed Tap lets you activate a second key while the first is still being held down. For instance, pressing D while holding A will make you move right rather than stopping. Both of these features can be adjusted per key as well with the Gear Link app. Gear Link is a browser based control center for the keyboard, and it’s a great idea. No more installing rarely used apps running in the background. All you need is to open the link and connect your keyboard. You can adjust the key assignments for each key, assign the Fn buttons, set the actuation points and triggers, adjust the lighting, and the multiwheel actions. I think every brand should start doing this and do away with the bloat software installations. Battery life is great so far. It’s said to last 90 hours of use. I’ve used this for over a week as my daily keyboard and it still has 40% remaining. The idle time can be adjusted to conserve battery life even more. How much this keyboard works for you will depend on your needs. If you only need the keys for movement, then being able to just use half the keyboard is like using a gaming keypad and leaves more room for the mouse. One annoyance is if you need to actually type, then you’ll have to move the other half into place and out the way again. Another use I can see using half a keyboard for is with art or video applications, if you’re willing to set up custom keys. It would work as a shortcut pad without taking up space. So far I’m liking it since I fall into that niche group that was looking for something like this.

Great looking keyboard but way above what you should be paying for it. Mine included ABS keycaps even though the box clearly stated PBT. Unsure what they are thinking over there at Asus but it appears they are getting pretty lazy. Stick with an Azoth Extreme over this unless you absolutely need it for your lack of space.

Two Keyboards are Better than One

Well, this isn’t something you see every day. Following the rise of computer gaming as it has become more mainstream over the last 20 years, the humble keyboard has seen something of a glow-up in the gaming enthusiast space. Higher quality switches and customizable keycaps started to spread across the market, and before long the keyboard became something of a playground for hardcore computer users to deck out and match their style. It makes sense when you think about it - you constantly use the keyboard to interact with computers. Why shouldn’t it be customizable and configured exactly as you want it? Split keyboards have been around for some time as an ergonomic alternative to single-piece keyboards, but they’ve largely been relegated to exotic, boutique, or custom-built options. ASUS’ new ROG Falcata appears to be one of the first split keyboards to push into the more mainstream gaming space, albeit with an eye-watering price tag to match. Having had some passing interest in split keyboards before, I gave the ROG Falcata a go, and quickly realized what I’d been missing. - Unboxing and Setup This being a niche keyboard in an already niche segment, it’s no surprise that ASUS spiffed up the packaging. Upon opening the box you’re presented with the two keyboard halves in velvet pouches, with all accessories neatly packaged into sub-boxes for what feels like a premium unboxing. Unfortunately this also extends to limited documentation - the included quickstart guide could use some additional clarity to point out the three-way power switch needs to be toggled to the wireless option to turn the keyboard on and use it with the included USB receiver. The ROG Falcata’s build quality is near the top of the pack. The all-aluminum casing gives the Falcata a lot of heft, and the soft rubber feet & wrist wrest certainly help keep the keyboard halves from moving around once you’ve set them down where you want them. Keycaps are of an extremely high quality ABS plastic, with the right texture and concavity that makes typing and gaming a comfortable experience. The Falcata can be connected to your PC one of three ways - the included, pre-paired dongle, wired via USB-C, or paired over Bluetooth. I chose to use the dongle as it was the quickest setup option, and indeed the Falcata was as plug-and-play as it gets, immediately being recognized as an HID keyboard by Windows 11. A quick charge from USB-C and I was off and running. The most important thing in the box, however? A standard Ctrl keycap that replaces the Copilot key. Absolute perfection. - General Use It became apparent within a minute of using the Falcata for the first time that the default actuation distance on the keyboard was far too short for decent typing - I was triggering keys I had barely brushed with my fingers and was getting a lot of double-inputs just taking notes for this review. This was quickly rectified with some configuration via ASUS Gear Link (more on this later), and was able to set the keyboard up for my typing style. My mechanical keyboard preference has always been for “Blue” or “Brown” style switches (clicky and tactile) with 0.4mm O-rings for comfort and noise reduction. I wasn’t sure going into the Falcata whether I would enjoy what seemed more like “Black” (linear, not tactile) switches. But after a few minutes getting used to the new switch type with a deeper actuation distance, I began enjoying the Falcata’s switches as I typed. Though the switches in use on the Falcata are linear, they have more resistance and spring feel to them than any “Red” or “Black” switch keyboard I’ve used before. They have just enough give to feel weighty without feeling like they’re fighting back. Indeed, I typed my entire review on the ROG Falcata and grew to love the feel. I still feel like the keyboard could use some O-rings or landing pads for comfort, but that’s just my personal preference. - Ergonomics Although the Falcata’s split down the middle of the keyboard is set so you can push both halves of the keyboard back together for a traditional device experience, being able to position both pieces exactly where your hands want them is a huge boon ergonomically. I angled both inward and quickly noted the difference; longer typing sessions were much more comfortable with my arms at relaxed angles, though I was occasionally frustrated by the “Y” key being on the right half of the keyboard as I tend to hit it with my left finger. Guess I have some typing habits to relearn. Included with the Falcata are enormous wrist wrests that drastically improve comfort near the edges of a desk or table. The keyboard case is ever so slightly angled upward at the rear for a mild tilt towards you, but if that’s not enough ASUS includes multiple sets of feet with the Falcata to increase the tilt angle if desired. These screw into threaded holes on the underside of the keyboard halves, so there’s no chance of them popping out or folding unexpectedly as can happen on cheaper keyboards. My only major gripe (and one that I can likely address with an aftermarket purchase) is that the USB-C Link cables connecting the keyboard halves are seemingly the only way to link the two halves…and though I would’ve preferred both being wireless, cables would be fine were it not for the fact standard USB-C cables don’t seem to work for linking, and the two link cable options in the box are fairly short, limiting placement options. - Gaming Use With the keyboard in two halves, the obvious benefit for gaming is to disconnect or move the right half of the keyboard, leaving the crucial WASD half of the keyboard and nearby keys available for your left hand while freeing up space for your mouse on the right. Indeed, bringing the mouse closer to my left hand during first-person games using a WASD+mouse control scheme wasn’t just ergonomically superior to a much wider stance, but it brought me closer into the action and helped me feel more engaged with the game I was playing. The precision keystrokes and high polling rate would be plenty satisfying on their own, but the Rapid Trigger switch is a party trick for dual-use users. By default, Rapid Trigger sets the WASD keys to a hairline actuation distance (fully customizable, of course) for much quicker response times when gaming. I’m not quite eSports material so it’s hard to say if this would have improved my movement and overall performance in-game, but the key sensitivity was extreme to the point of almost being a major hindrance as just resting my fingers on the keys was enough to trigger input. Points for that level of sensitivity all the same; the Hall Effect sensors on these keys are very precise and accurate indeed. - ASUS Gear Link I’ve been used to ASUS hardware requiring the use of bloated, cumbersome Windows software to configure and customize devices, and was expecting to need to use Armoury Crate or Aura Sync to make any changes to the Falcata. Mercifully, this keyboard debuts ASUS’ new Gear Link software - a web-based configuration tool that runs in either Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. With no software to install, visiting Gear Link (dot asus dot com) is all that’s needed to completely customize the ROG Falcata. The Gear Link interface will look familiar to anyone who’s used ASUS software previously. Everything on the Falcata can be customized, from lighting to key remapping (which I had to do to update the formerly Copilot key to RCtrl), and even the actuation and de-actuation distances of every key individually, with different settings for when the rapid switch is toggled. Macros can of course be set and called from any key or combination of keys, and the multiwheel and buttons on the left side of the keyboard can be reconfigured in countless ways. Five profiles and a default one can be saved to the keyboard to be loaded on other devices, and edited from any computer with web access. I found the Gear Link interface trivially easy to access, straightforward to understand, and massively more convenient than using any standalone ASUS software I’d used previously. A small bit of lag when adjusting sliders is the only complaint I can really leverage - and this could be a browser limitation. After years of tolerating ASUS ROG software that felt more like an afterthought and security vulnerability, Gear Link is a massive improvement that really ties the premium ambition of the ROG Falcata together. - Bottom Line As a niche keyboard, the ROG Falcata had a limited audience and had to be good to compete with boutique, low-volume exotic keyboards and DIY kits. The Falcata is most definitely a contender for the discerning enthusiast, with excellent hardware design, great manufacturing quality, and supporting software that’s powerful and entirely web-based. My only complaints with the device were minor at best, and none that dragged down the experience in any significant way. The only thing left to discuss is the value proposition…which is going to be very difficult to quantify. Compared to traditional gaming keyboards, the Falcata’s $419 MSRP could be sticker shock, but against some of the more exotic small batch keyboards out there, it could be the bargain of the century. I went into this review leaning towards the former opinion as I never delved too deep into the keyboard enthusiast space, but now that I’ve spent a couple weeks with it it’s hard to go back. Recommended!

Although I did not neccessarily need a new keyboard I decided to get the new ASUS ROG Falcata split keyboard to see if there were any features that would wow me. The design itself is very interesting and I will say that the overall look is very clean & modern given that split design which you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere. As with most ASUS products the Falcata seems very well made & durable with premium components. The detachable silicone palm/wrist rests feel comfortable however I'm afraid they'll soon develop that sticky icky rubber feeling after some prolonged usage. They are at a point now to where they are beginning to annoy me with the amount of dust they seem to collect. I think it's better to just replace them or find a differenbt brand that does not have these issues. The horizontal scroll wheel requires way too much force, feels stiff and offers no satisfying tactile feel. The hot-swappable HFX V2 switches are good and you can configure them to your liking using the control panel if you choose. The keycaps are maybe the least premium, replacing them with quality keycaps would improve the experience by miles although it does feel nice to type on. Given that I am usually a fairly frugal person I myself would not recommend the product based strictly off of the price point. If the price was in the low $300 then I likely would recommend given the overall quality & functionality.

    SOLID GAMING ACCESSORY

After spending over a week using this keyboard, I can confidently say it has significantly enhanced my gaming experience. The split design offers a level of comfort that’s hard to beat, especially when setting up for long gaming sessions. It’s a nice design choice that promotes a more ergonomic posture. Build Quality: As expected from ASUS, the build quality is exceptional. The keyboard feels incredibly solid and well-constructed, providing a robust, premium experience. The keys offer just the right amount of travel, with a satisfying tactile click and smooth return. There's no feeling of flimsiness or springiness – just a well-built, sturdy device. Design & Functionality: The design is pretty cool and highly functional, whether you’re using it as a full keyboard or in its split configuration. Personally, I prefer using the left-hand side of the keyboard, and the customizable trigger controls are very helpful to my gaming performance. It allows me to adjust the layout to my specific needs for a more personalized experience. The multifunctional wheel is another standout feature, providing an intuitive and seamless way to adjust volume and control media playback on the fly. When it comes to connectivity, the Bluetooth performance has been solid. I’ve experienced zero lag or signal dropouts while gaming, which is a critical feature for a wireless setup. Pairing the keyboard with my PC was quick and effortless, just like any other Bluetooth device. The included silicone wrist pads offer great ergonomic support, helping to reduce strain during my gaming sessions. The split design allows you to position the keyboard halves independently, adding another layer of comfort. Minor Drawback: The only downside I’ve encountered so far is related to the keyboard’s compact size when used as a full unit. While the split design is fantastic, I personally find the mini keyboard layout a bit limiting for everyday typing. It would be ideal if the keyboard was full-size but still maintained its split configuration for gaming, offering versatility without compromising on functionality. OVERALL- very cool design that is useful for gaming but if you use your computer for other than a gaming pc the compact design makes it a little uncomfortable for me to type.

M703 Magnetic Gaming Keyboard From ASUS

ASUS's latest M7003 ROG Wireless Magnetic Keyboard is an amazing piece of gaming equipment. It is a wonderful example of design and production excellence. Every bit of the keyboardd exhibits quality: - Heavily qeighted split keyboard - Magnetic keys with instant response - ROG LED adjustable backlighting - Wired or wireless using bluetooth or an included dongle - Non-slip base with adjustable feet - Large keyboard arm rest - On-board adjustable volume control, lighting intensity and selectable trigger All these features make this ASUS Model 703 gaming keyboard perfect for gamers and others alike. The ASUS M703 arrived nicely packaged and took little time to assemble and set up. It is essentially plug and play while being adaptable based on each user's requirements. The split design is genius and takes up very litle space on my desk while allowing for ergonomic adjustments to fit each user's style and comfort. This gaming keyboard uses magnetic "Hall" effect switches which feel almost like those oin a mechanical keyboard, only better. The key strokes are smooth, rapid and snappy. The ASUS Ma7a03 keys allow users to configure the kjey activation point from 0.1mm to 3 .5mm making for a keyboard built for speed and adjustability. ASUS uses its Gearlink software to update both the keyboard software and firmware and to configure various key points, stops and multi-actuation triggers. It is currently in beta status as of this review but seems very stable and useful to program the keyboard.a I used it to update my keyboad's firmware finding it to be easy and intuitrive to use. I really love this new ASUS M703 Wired/Wireless Magnetic Gaming Keyboard and intend to continue using it daily as my primary keyboard. I highlyu recommend itr to you.

    Over Hyped and Overpriced

This keyboard had a lot of potential, but ultimately I feel like it fell short of expectations. For a nearly $400 price tag, that is an incredibly high price to pay for any keyboard, no matter the feature set and functionality (unless it magically coded for me and helped me win Warzone matches). Let’s start off with what’s good about it. The switches on this keyboard are very nice. The responsiveness is excellent and tunable with gear link. The keys are smooth, quiet, and easy to swap out. Gear link lets you choose the response level of a key press which is nice depending how hard or light you like to press the keys. I do appreciate how gear link doesn’t actually require software and can be used in a browser. But honestly, besides that and the rapid trigger, this is honestly just a glorified wireless mechanical keyboard that boasts to be ergonomic but I feel is anything but. Now the bad. Calling this ergonomic is quite a stretch. The feet on the keyboard are hard to install and annoying as hell to type on. The magnet is weak on the keyboard that holds the two halves together. Typing on this always results in the keyboard wobbling and defeating the whole purpose. I really wanted to love the ergonomic feature since I have wrist pain but I couldn’t stand the flex in the keyboard with the weak magnets and flimsy build. The layout of keys is annoying too. The copilot button I had to disable because I kept hitting it, so annoying. The onboard functions on the left side are not easy to use and a dial would’ve been much better than a scroll wheel. Oh the battery life is impressive too, so that’s nice. But overall, save your money and buy a cheaper wireless mechanical keyboard for half the price and all the features this offers, minus a gimmicky ergonomic design.

Overall - The Keyboard is a high-tech, cutting-edge keyboard packed with a lot of really great ideas like the split design, the effect switches, and adjustable actuation. It hits a lot of key things you want; however, there are a couple of big misses. Couple that with the fact that the split design is really only of great value in a few shooter games, it really does have a large advantage – thus the 3 stars Packaging - ASUS has really nailed the packaging and unboxing experience – you’ll pay a premium for the keyboard, and from a packaging standpoint, it is top notch- It heavy-duty box, and everything is really well laid out. Setup - let’s start with the good, there are multiple ways to connect USB, wireless, and Bluetooth – all three work very well, you can adjust the actuation; however, I found it to be great straight out of the box, the split keyboard design allows for the ultimate in ergonomics and you can adjust to the most comfortable position (I thought this was going to be the biggest positive however outside of shooter games I found it to be a little distracting) The bad, the left side scroll wheel use was an absolute disaster. Rolling out worked fine; however, rolling in always engaged to click function. The other bad is using the stand-off feet with the split match; it's a little unstable – the feet placement should have been on the 4 corners once it’s split. Touch and feel - Overall, the touch and feel is really good – it feels like a premium keyboard; however didn’t really notice a significant improvement over other gaming keyboards at a much lower price. Functionality - The feature of the keyboard works well with the noted exception of the scroll wheel list above. That said, I did experience some type of system compatibility problem with my gaming mouse, and after using it in a couple of games, it would cause the select feature of my mouse to engage. I quick reboot always fixed it, but a problem none the When it comes to features, performance, and real-world use, the Falcata delivers some of the most advanced stuff — but also runs into practical limits. Bottom line – if you play a lot of shooter games, it might be worth the investment; other than that, I’d pass.

One of the best ergonomics out there

As I've gotten a little older, I've come to appreciate the need for an ergonomic keyboard. Unfortunately while they may be good for your wrists, there are depressingly few split keyboard designs that actually offer a halfway decent typing experience, let alone a good gaming one. ASUS aims to fix that with that with the Falcata, and does so with their usual brand of gratuitous overkill. The general build quality of the Falcata is among the best I've ever seen. It is a seriously beefy piece of tech with lots of metal parts and absolutely zero deck flex, which admittedly is made substantially easier by the fact that the split design doesn't create nearly as much leverage. The optional wrist rests are made of sturdy rubber so they should last a very long time, and the magnetic switches shouldn't be subjected to nearly as much wear and tear as the contacts on more traditional mechanical designs. As for the user experience, I found myself with very few complaints. It's got all the usual bells and whistles you'd expect from an ROG product with elaborate RGB, low latency, key rollover, and so on, so I won't go into much detail there and instead focus on the real game changer: the ergonomic layout and what it can do for your daily comfort. I'm usually not the greatest fan of smooth switches, as I find the physical feedback of tactile designs to be better for my accuracy and just general awareness of what I'm hitting. And when I first took it out of the box I really did not think I would like the switches here, as they seemed ridiculously sensitive and would often start triggering just from the pressure exerted by resting my fingers on the home row. But this was before I discovered that the actuation point for every switch is adjustable. And what's more it's adjustable on the keyboard itself, through the use of a multifunction control wheel on the left side. While I do still somewhat miss the satisfying click of the keys, once I had everything dialed in I found my accuracy was almost identical to what I was getting with my tactile boards. And oh my goodness, the comfort is so much better. I've noticed in the last few years that my left wrist has been getting angry when I let myself spend more than an hour or so at the keyboard, and on some days it just won't tolerate it at all, but with this I can completely eliminate the issue with just a few seconds of adjusting. I've even started using it for work, which is made significantly easier by the fact that it supports pairing with multiple devices via Bluetooth. That said there are a few areas for improvement with future versions. The biggest, arguably, is the documentation and height adjustment. The keyboard comes with 8 detachable feet (4 tall, 4 short) 10 places to screw them in and 0 explanations for how this is supposed to work. Based on how the sockets are arranged it seems like you're supposed to be making a triangle with the feet to provide a wrist-friendly angle on your desk, but every time I try to do so it either feels very wobbly or like I'm missing pieces. The instructions basically only show you where the feet screw in, not how you're supposed to arrange them, so I feel like I'm missing something very clever that the engineers behind it thought would be self evident. But, honestly, if that's the biggest complaint I have it's probably a good thing. This is an easy recommend for anyone looking for an ergonomic mechanical keyboard.

I used to use sub $100 keyboards, but would have to replace them every year and was not happy with the feel or performance. I have now been using keyboards with different kind of switches, but wanted to try the hall effect switches, which the ASUS ROG Falcata keyboard uses. During the setup, I was surprised to find different height screw-on feet which are interchangeable to provide the most ergonomic feeling for long periods of gaming or even using for work. I have tried both the USB connection and 8K wireless dongle connection and did not notice any difference in latency. The features I liked, but did not use often was the RGB lights and the dial. Asus has been listening to their audience and allow adjustments to the keyboard using a web browser instead of downloading more software. I have an ASUS gaming laptop and use the Armoury Crate, so I did not try the website. The only improvements I would like to see, is an added clip or clips to help hold the two halves of the keyboards together and have a separate number pad for purchase. I overwhelmingly recommend this keyboard as it has so many features which can please any gamer. This keyboard will not disappoint.

    From machanical to magnetic switches

I played with this keyboard at the store one random day and instantly liked the feel of the keystrokes. I wasn't sure what kind of switches this keyboard was using but it felt very nice to use and I initially thought these were linear switches. They are not, these are what they call Hall Effect Switches (V2) which use magnets to register keystrokes and they can be customized through software. I'm mostly going to be using this for typing, but I can see the advantage of using it to game. They can be set to be incredibly sensitive, which means they register a key press much faster than a standard mechanical switch. For this review, I'll be focusing on the typing experience. With that said, once I adjusted the force needed to register a keystroke that I preferred (done through software through a browser, no program installation needed; nice!), I began typing. The keystrokes are very smooth, quiet and makes me want to keep typing because it just feels satisfying typing with this keyboard. The browser software Gear Link is pretty straightforward. It has decent customization options, however, I wish it had the option to assign key combinations to the "copilot" key such as "Alt+CTRL+DEL." It only has single key assignments, but it does have other custom settings like using a key for volume up, down, pause, etc. The provided "Link" cables are the only ones that are going to work to link the keyboard together and function. Asus has said using 3rd party cables will not allow the keyboard pieces to function properly (or at all for that matter). You also cannot use both pieces of the keyboard if they are not linked together. The wrist rest is very nice and soft to use. It is optional, but I say give it a try. It also comes with detachable feet to screw on the bottom of the keyboard to give it a tent or tilted option. The build quality is very good, it feels robust and heavy duty. The RGB lighting is bright, but I feel like the customization of the lights is lacking. Given the price tag, I think it's a minor letdown that you can't use 3rd party cables to link the pieces. I'm sure Asus must have a reason for that decision, but it would have been great to be able to use any cable to have more options, as well as longevity of the keyboard (they do provide 2 link cables). If you happen to lose or damage both cables, you may be out of luck. Overall, this is a magnificent, premium, keyboard at a hefty price tag. If you can get this on sale and are looking for a very nice keyboard, give it a try. If money is not an issue, also give this a try.

Gaming keyboards come down to preference on the individual. But everyone wants the right feel and fast response to get the ultimate gaming experience. With the Asus ROG Falcata 75% Wireless Gaming Keyboard, I have found that experience. Right out of the box, the first thing that surprised me about this keyboard was the weight. It was certainly heavier than I assumed it would be. But it is because it is a solid construction. It is very sturdy and can stand up to the roughest gaming environments. Connection is easy. You can choose to connect via wireless/Bluetooth or even go wired if you like. Before I talk about performance, I will comment on the keyboard itself. Unlike some of the other ergonomic keyboards, the is really two separate keyboards split right down the middle. This is great for gamers. You can have the keys you use while moving the other half of the keyboard out of your way. This allows you to move the mouse closer. The form factor is also a bit smaller making your setup a bit smaller without really feeling like it is smaller. If you want to use a full keyboard, the other half can easily be placed beside the other for easy use. This really is a gamer keyboard. I would like to use it for other functions, but this keyboard does not have a 10-key numeric input. So, if you want that, you may need another keyboard. This one is really made for play and not work. Moving on to game play now, this keyboard is fun. This keyboard gave me the ability to set up my desktop the way I wanted. Since I only need the left side for most activities, I just moved the right side out of my way. I felt I had more control. The wrist rests are comfortable too. You can customize your experience too with the keys by changing up the actuation distance. You can make it ridiculously sensitive if you like. Also, the key response is lightning fast. The keys sample at 8000 hertz, so there is no detectable input lag with the keystrokes. The keyboard also features plenty of extra nice-to-haves that most gaming keyboards have now. You can change volume on the keyboard, change media, and even change the keyboard lighting to your liking. The keyboard is rechargeable; however, I never ran the battery down enough to see how long one charge would last. I can say it lasts plenty of gaming sessions for sure though. In the end, I really enjoyed the Asus ROG Falcata 75% Wireless Gaming Keyboard. In my mind though, I see this much more of a gamer’s keyboard than an actual work keyboard. The customization it offers a gamer is very practical, but I just don’t see that translating well for dual use with business. But if gaming is what you like, this keyboard will definitely do the job. In that case, I do highly recommend it to all.

When I received the package from the delivery guy the first thing I noticed was how heavy the box was... I initially thought that I must have been shipped a case of keyboards by accident instead of just one. but after opening the box I disscovered that eh keyboartd was heavy enough that it could realisticvally be used as a murder weapon.. sso I took the parts out of the poaackage and I held them in my hand, and I promptly dropped on half of the keyboarr onto my kitchen counter because the metal backplanes have an awkward angle tto them that doen't fully support6 the keyboaardd. The next thing I noticed wwas how well built it was. The keyboard itsself has zero flex, and the keys feel great. I ddo wish thee backplane mounts were solid or had some way tgo bbe connected together so I could game wwith the keyboard in my lap, but this is aa desk top keyboard only, or perhaaps a lap board keyboard... but it can't be used as it comes out of the box. So afftter screwiung the back planess to tghe board I used it to game with and it worked aamazing.. the only issue I dson't lkike is there is no dedicated number pad. I really7 liked the keyboard for gaming, and was preparedd to give it a great 4 star review.. the on;ly reaason I was going to give it 4 insdtead of 5 stars was because it requires a dedicated USB cable, aand states point bblank in the user manual that it only works with ASUS usb cabless... which IMO is a backwareds step in USB tech as it takes the universaal outt of the cable etc... abnd it is also quite cluimsy as far as the two halves don't solidly lock togethyer so it can';t be uised sitting in your laap if you wanted to use it in a recliner etc... BUT THEN I tryedd to use it to type up this review, and at firsst I kept backspacingg and correcting aall of my mistakes, but then I said to heck with that, lets let the mistakes shine thrrough so others can see.. this is the worst keyboard I've ever used for typing... the keys hit multiple times, aand if you even brsh any other key iot showws up in youtr word like you meant it to be there... I ssimply can't get6 through a ssingle scentense without aany typoing errors...
