Perfect save for one major flaw

When you look at it, this computer is just about perfect. Quad-core i7 Processor? Check 16GB RAM? Check Fantastic video card? A GTX1070? Oh yeah! Great price? Absolutely Small form factor? Yeah... she's definitely small. What's the major flaw then? The hard drive. I'm not going to complain about the size because a 1TB 7200 RPM drive isn't bad. My only complaint is the 7200 RPM part... it's a platter drive. It feels imperative in this day and age to put a solid state drive (at least 128-256GB) in a modern computer. Because it's a platter drive, the computer will feel slow going about everyday tasks. Games take longer to load. The computer takes longer to boot... you get the point. I decided to put a SSD (solid state drive -if you don't know) into it. Because the case is so tiny, you have to jump through a lot of hoops as the disassembly is pretty involved. That said, once I had the drive installed and got the BIOS to recognize it (another PITA), everything was running fast as all get out. I love this machine!

I like that for the price you get a 1070 8g graphics card, the case stays cool even under long game play. I like that the power supply isn't in the case, which makes it very portable. One down side - for the price it doesn't have an SSD card, you can add one later. Also the small case can make things a little time consuming when wanting to upgrade parts.

This gaming computer is a beast. It's a little bit bigger than a PlayStation 4 packs a powerful punch. If you look up the specs you'll be impressed. It's Oculus ready you can play your favorite games right out of the box. It has a Nvidia graphics card. Which means while you're playing and something awesome just happened you can save the replay with instant replay feature. By default it's automatically recording the last 5 minutes of gameplay which is awesome to capture those unrehearsed moments.

I first have to admit I know almost nothing about computers but I do see a difference when using them for MMOs. This is super fast and very easy to use and set up. With the click of 2 buttons I was even able to set up a duel monitor system and again I'm not the brightest. I only gave this 4stars because I personally find Windows 10 to be overly complicated and irritating however since I use an IMac for everyday uses and this just for gaming I don't really have to bother with it much

It has just enough usb ports for Oculus Rift (more is better). Easy to setup (both the pc and Rift), doesn't see where to register the pc. The pc does run fast, but it freezes sometimes-I think it should not have been with this kind of components. It's a compact case, you may think twice if you want to upgrade storage or anything else yourself (I didnt dare to do it). However, It does get the job done.

Updates at first boot are annoying. After updates, the computer worked flawlessly. I've played Battlefield 1 at Ultra and League of Legends no problem. Cool temps no stutters. Aesthetically, the pc looks amazing. It's compact factor lets you place it on the desk without taking much space. I haven't tried VR as i'm not interested. Only complaints about this purchase is the Keyboard, mouse and hard drive. The keyboard and mouse are okay... i guess but i prefer a mechanical keyboard and wireless mouse. Fortunately i already had a Logitech Orion G910 and G602. The third complaint, THE MAJOR ONE, this desktop does NOT include an SSD!!! Common now, this is supposed to be the CHOICE OF CHAMPIONS hahaha i don't feel like a champion with the HDD boot and load times. In the end, it is great ESPECIALLY at $1000 price range. FYI i got it on a super sale, i think it was presidents days. I WOULD NOT BUY THIS at retail $1399

    Fantastic machine, easy setup

It's been a while since I bought a dedicated desktop PC and this ended up being a great choice after researching options for something with a small form factor that met the needs for my HTC Vive VR system. Setup was a breeze and took less than 15 minutes using my HDTV as a monitor to have the Asus ROG up and running including a few software updates. No hiccups at all. With the Vive, the system has so far worked flawlessly performance-wise. The GTX 1070 is easily able to take everything I've thrown at it so far in VR with High quality settings. Very impressive for such a small machine and with barely audible fan noise. The adjustable 3-zone lighting system (it can also animate to system audio) is a fun to have gimmick for sure. The form factor is a real winner here and saves a lot of space while looking good in my opinion. Of course, the size limits easy upgradeability, but that's the trade-off. The keyboard and mouse are serviceable. The keyboard lighting is useful, though the mouse is completely bare-bones. Both are easily replaced with better options of course. Note that it has a single 1TB HDD and no SSD in this SKU. Overall, for the price, this is definitely a great choice and is a solid choice for this VR generation.

ive bought two of these in the last few months and the first one i bought in january still works perfect. the second one i bought last week and it was dead on arrival. it was the gpu problem ive read about in a few reviews. not sure if the card was bad or not seated properly or something else but i just had a blank screen when powering it up for the first time. bestbuys return policy gets 5 stars because ive never had trouble from them during an exchange or return. so i exchanged my bad system and the new one is good so far. just thought anyone considering this particular unit (g20cb-b21) should be aware of this even though it doesnt appear to be a widespread issue as for the performance its surprisingly good. i expected it to be good having a gtx 1070 but i can max out the settings on arma3(among other demanding games) and get a pretty stable 60fps (using vsync) with not too many drops. im sensitive to fluctuations in frame rates. i hate em so if im happy it must be a pretty good setup. i use msi afterburner to monitor performance and i havent seen any indications of bottlenecking so the cpu and other components seem adequate as well. one downside is this system doesnt quite compare to the user built units when it comes to upgradeability. you can replace the gpu, cpu, ram (ive heard up to 32gb max), hdd/ssd. maybe im forgetting something but i think thats it. no aftermarket cooling unless youre handy with a dremel but thats ok because in my experience this unit has never exceded the low 70s on the gpu and the high 60s on the cpu (celcius). i think the motherboard is proprietary in these systems so i dont think you can use an off the shelf mobo. its an h170 chipset so no cpu overclocking. so there isnt quite as much freedom in the upgradeability department but im still happy with it. its still a powerful system. contrary to popular belief you CAN open this system to upgrade components without voiding warranty but you have to be very careful not to damage anything. i would strongly recommend reading the warranty literature before taking a screwdriver to this thing. as for cost, a lot of people say its so much cheaper/better to build but every time i piece comparable components together its barely cheaper if at all. theres plenty of pros for this prebuilt to negate the small added cost of buying it vs building your own bottom line the g20cb-b21 is a powerful system that doesnt run hot. its not overly expensive (especially if you can find it on sale like i did). even with the small hiccup i had with the second one i bought id still recommend this to anyone considering not building their own

This PC is powerful and stylish. It is top tier for its price range and is really customizable. Runs great, really quiet. Im mean really really quiet. Doesnt overheat or slow down. Runs most games at 70-200 fps on ultimate settings. 7.1 Surround Sound capable and it makes the games come to life with every bang and explosion. Easy to navigate with Windows 10 and customizing lights patterns and colors was simple enough. Over all its a steal for the price.

My only downfall with this PC is that it Just have 1TB of Hard Drive and no SSD. I know they have ones that had SSD but they did not have it in store.

Overall, a solid pc. The graphics card is a beast. The processor is also impressive. The only complaint that I have about this build is the choice of the HDD that Asus used. But, this is the step down from the hybrid drive. So, you get what you pay for. And, since I had a 1 TB Samsung SSD laying on my bench that was easy enough to install... This is the right price for the right components. If you are looking for something with incredible r/w speeds... This is not going to blow you away. But, everything else about this box is a home run. I would definitely recommend. Especially, if you find it on sale.

I purchased this PC and gave it a run for nearly a month. I wanted to like it but I am the type of person who updates my PC's over time and this model is Not upgrade friendly. The final straw was that Asus will not allow you to open up and add a SSD drive (it does not have one and suffers bad in performance because of it). If you open up the system you automatically Void the warranty! Asus come on..SSD's are super cheap, put a 128GB in there at least!! A PC is only as good as its weakest link and this PC's weak link is the old slow mechanical hard drive. I would highly recommend looking into a Cyber PowerPC computer, Best Buy sells quite a few of theirs...you will be much happier. Also be aware that this PC has an external power supply, or I should say 2 external power supplies! You need 2 outlets to plug into to run this PC. They are laptop type power supplies cradled together into this large, aweful looking brick.

The 1st one had a bad gpu. No problems returning it to the store. The 1070 plays all my games 1080p at least 60fps on ultra. Have it connected to a 4k tv and looks awesome. Bought it on sale for $1099. No ssd but its not slow by any means. would recommend

I love this PC. I purchased it to replace my older one. My old one was loud this one is quiet as a mouse. My Husband purchased it to replace his first. He loved his so much we purchased it for me as well. This one runs flawlessly, I am a gamer not a pro but do play some online heavy graphic games and I don't have any lag at all! I absolutely would recommend this product!

it does everything I ask it to do. There were no reductions in quality, for the price I paid. The lights are really cool and fun to play with. The only problem is that it has a heating problem. I play Overwatch on near max settings (recommended by the processor and graphics card), and it always heats above 80C (which is above max recommendations for temperature). I've continuously tried reducing the framerate and settings, but I might as well have bought a $500 pc for the settings that would bring the computer to acceptable temperatures. I have it in a well ventilated area with plenty of space. I'm experiencing this in 40-60F weather in my room.

General programs that are run on this PC are Photoshop and Corel (not a heavy gamer) with 2 monitors. All the HDMI ports you could want (3). Will run PS with Netflix/Hulu/YouTube running with no problems. The tower is also just so compact it fits almost any where.
