Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the excellent performance and powerful components of the ROG Gaming Desktop, particularly praising the GPU and RAM. Many appreciate the reasonable price point, but some users mention that the cooling system could be improved and that the included keyboard and mouse are basic. The power supply's capacity is also a concern for some buyers. While the case's design is noted, some find it difficult to upgrade.

Had an auspicious start to my experience with this piece. Upon unboxing, while lifting the pc out of the case, heard a rattle. Removed the plexiglass case cover; nothing there; then removed the back side cover where a little shaking revealed a screw (pic provided). Looking over the unit, it appeared identical to the screws they used to hold down the motherboard; but did not see any missing. Went on to make all the appropriate connections; but now there's something in the back of your head saying "what else is loose here?" Provided with the unit is a short pamphlet - PC installation guide. It shows to hook up the monitor at the rear top of the unit - wrong! There's an HDMI port there, but it's not connected to the video card. You need to plug the HDMI cable into the GeForce card itself. Once that was done, powered up the pc and went through registration without issue. Since this only comes with a 1TB hard drive (and a 512SS boot drive), I knew I'd have to add storage space for pics & videos. Asus provides an extra SATA power cable in the box, so I took off the plexiglass cover again, but found there was no spare SATA power available. Had to remove the rear of the case, and connect the cable from the box into the modular power supply, and feed it through into the working side of the pc. Then hooked up the SATA data cable into the motherboard. This brings up my other beef about the pc. Since there was sparse information available in the box, went online to see if there was a full manual. I followed their recommendation to use the model # from the box (GF15CF), but could not make a match in their data listings. I chalked that up to the possibility that this was too new a pc to be included, and went on to check other similar units. I was disappointed to see that their online manuals are not much better than the pamphlets that come in the box, pretty much half the manual is either safety information or how to work Windows! I was really hoping for a motherboard diagram like you would get when you purchase a motherboard so I could check & see if there was any difference between the onboard SATA ports. Guys; you're marketing this product as a "gaming machine." It would be a good assumption that your target audience is interested in information such as motherboard layout, maintenance items such as removing a CPU fan for cleaning & repasting; etc. Very disappointed as to these qualities of the product. Throw in a decent manual. Included a pic of the secondary drive I installed (The 1TB drive is accessed through the back side along with the power supply.) To check out gaming operation, I installed my Steam client, and wanted to check out the display of my go-to game, Civilization 6. There are a lot of lighting effects that I've never been able to enable on my current gaming laptop. Set up the graphics display to 2560x1640 resolution, and enabled dynamic lighting, shadows, ant-aliasing, high resolution geometry & textures, all set to the highest options. Was very happy to see the game display in all its glory. What wasn't so hot is the fan setup. The case fan is bargain basement quality. During gameplay, it's constantly throttling up & down, and it's loud. The same goes for the included keyboard & mouse, which I can partially understand; as most gamers like to choose these products to their specific liking. Given the experience with the loose screw, and the lack of documentation, I hesitate to recommend this machine to any serious gamer. That said,

Packaging : Nice and tightly packed, with No chance of damage. It has the following items 1) ASUS ROG UNIT in a black bag 2) Connection cables and power cable 3) Optical (wired) mouse and keyboard 4) Installation Guide and other warranty information Features: Windows 11, Intel I7-12700F Processor, Powerful RAM Long DDR4 3200 8G*2 memory, NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX3060 12GB GD6, 1 TB Hard Disk, 512GB PCIE G4(SSD) Design and look and feel: Top Handle Design looks cool and very useful. One side glass and it is pretty hard and safe design feels good. It has all ports like HDMI, USB 3.*, Type-C, Multiple Display ports, Audio ports, Wifi 6. You can check the attached Photos for all the details. Performance: I played few games like Fortnite, Call of duty, Play station, Roblox, etc. I really enjoyed the performance, no lag or pauses in the game, the temperature was handled pretty well. NVIDIA Graphics card worked well, I can see the difference since I play games on other high-end laptops. There are no issues with Fan, Nice build machine, the Wiring is good, and everything is in place perfectly. For hardcore gamers i know they always have doubts on these Pre-Build systems how it works, instead, they can request their own favorite build, but I am telling you this pre-build works well you can place with it and change it in the future if you want, but I do not see anything lagging in this that needs change. I am sure you will enjoy it. I liked it. I will recommend this product.

Firstly, I was very please with the care that was taken to package this computer. Nice dense foam inside a sturdy box and the graphics card is held securely in place with two attachment plates to prevent movement during shipping. Everything arrived as is it should with no damage and they even included the unused cables for the power supply in case you choose to expand your PC later. The case itself is fairly attractive and nicely sized. There is RGB lighting present but it is pretty tasteful and not overbearing, plus it can be disabled or customized using the armory crate software. I was very pleased to see the graphics card supports mentioned earlier, but I was equally pleased to see two sticks of RAM installed instead of a single stick like many other prebuilts. This is very important as DDR RAM is designed with the use of two sticks in mind and running a single stick can severely impact performance. On the gaming front this PC is perfect for modern gaming titles at 1080p and even has enough power for many games at 1440p. Since I personally have this paired to a 27” ASUS 1080p monitor I run most of my games in 1080p high/ultra with a 120% resolution scaler to compensate for the larger screen. With those settings I will typically see around 140 fps in modern shooters and closer to the 200 fps range on games like Witcher or Hitman 2. All in all I am very happy with the quality and functionality of this computer. In previous years I would normally just build my own PC but with parts availability being what it is and valuing my time more as I get older I can happily recommend this prebuilt from ASUS.

The ASUS GT15CF-I73060VR Gaming Desktop has exceeded my expectations in every way. I tried several games with it and it surpassed my performance expectations in every one of them. I was concerned that I would not be satisfied with the GForce RTX-3060 12GB DDR6; 3xDP,1HDMI but mated with the Core I7-12700F and running 16gigs of ram I have not had any problems and the performance in games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare remastered and Dirt Rally has been much better than I expected even on my 4K 27” monitor. The model I got also comes with a 500g NVME SSD for running the operating system and a 1T HDD for storage. Regarding the new GForce RTX-3060 and it’s counterparts they have new technology like DLSS that increases gameplay performance with AI. Not only that the new GForce cards have better Ray Tracing capabilities with 2nd gen RT Cores and NVidea Reflex to increase reaction time. The new Rog Strix GT15 series is also a very nice looking mid-tower PC and has built-in controllable LED lighting which can also be matched with optional keyboard, mouse and headphones. This PC even comes with a fold-out headphone hanger on the left side at the top and a built-in carrying handle that is very convenient if you are someone who goes and competes in competitions. There are a lot of configurations you can get these in depending on your needs. If you can only afford one with a RTX-3060 do not let that get you down. These new cards are very good and with there new technology I mentioned can even perform well in newer games that are compatible with the technology. Looking around at gaming PC’s I feel like Ausus has the best-looking ones with plenty of different hardware options. This PC has a clean beautiful build with all of the excess wires tucked away which allows you just to look at the beautiful lighting they have integrated into the hardware through the side window. I feel like the setup I have is a great balance between cost and the hardware you need to have a modern gaming PC that you will be happy with. I would definitely recommend it if you are in the market!

The ASUS ROG STRIX GT15CF delivers, end of story. I have tested two ROG computers, now counting this one and I am becoming quite the fan. First off, I want to be clear that I am not a computer guru or gaming expert and that my review is not going to be technical in nature. I know just enough to understand what makes a computer good or bad and that is about the limit of my knowledge base. I am, however, a gamer and someone who likes to have nice things. This desktop is great for gaming and is a nice thing. Out of the box, you know you have something special just from the aesthetics. The site claims that the unit is made to be aerodynamic and stealthy. Without reading those words that is exactly how I would have described the piece myself. It looks like if you put a wing on this thing, you could fly it. The unit even has a carrying handle and a flap that acts as a headphone holder. On that other note though, I have had several personal laptop computers and desktop computers alike that also sound like they could fly. To my surprise, this one does not. The ASUS ROG internal software the Armoury Crate is intuitive and makes personalization quick and easy. I love being able to setup profiles to set the mood and performance needs for any certain activity. For simple computing we go with a static blue and running a Windows performance need. However, of a bit of War Zone Rebirth we go performance with full spectrum RGB. As with most desktop computers the ASUS ROG Strix GT15CF has tons of ports, I would have liked a couple of more USB-C, but I suppose I can add those. I will also need to add more RAM because in today’s world sixteen is just not enough if you plan to play well into the future. The 3060 is wonderful and I understand that there is better out there. I play many different varieties of games and I have not played anything that the 3060 does not manage superbly. Let us be honest about this particular personal computer bundle though. If we think about computers in the terms of good, better, or best. This PC would fall in the better category but heavily leaning towards the best category. It is a top of the line entry level gaming PC. The bones are really strong and with a couple of easy tweaks this PC will easily go from better to best. The added Ram is one of those tweaks I plan to add sooner than later. As it stands with the base RAM, I was able to run GTA V, Minecraft, NVIDIA Broadcast, OBS Studios, YouTube, a computing composition with excel, and watch Netflix with no issues. This is an excellent gaming computer, with solid specs, and best of all at a reasonable rate. 8 out of 10

I have used this PC for a year now and it's holding up very well. I can play any game on the highest graphics with no issues. I was also able to add my SSD from my last PC easily. I do have a few complaints, mostly involving the case. It looks nice, but the top ventilation isn't great, it only has 1 front USB port, and either my AC cord is flawed or the power supply is very sensitive. Sometimes if i move the AC cord at all, the whole PC shuts off. And it is gentile movement, not tugging or anything like that. I plan on replacing the case and power supply eventually, but it works well enough to not have to. Just inconveniences. I also immediately replaced the accessories, so no idea how those hold up. If you don't feel like building your own PC it's a pretty good purchase, I probably would have never purchased it full price, but for the sale price I paid I'm happy with it.

Gaming desktop with lots of power, nice features

I've used a laptop for the last several years, mainly for the portability and the fact that most laptops are cheaper than desktops (especially gaming desktops). I also wasn't gaming much on my computer, instead opting to use my Xbox. Since my current laptop is getting older, I decided to get another gaming desktop and use the laptop strictly for when I travel. I have owned various Asus products over the years and had no problems with any of them. So far, this desktop is looking to be the same. Being a gaming desktop, it has colored lighting effects on the front and inside (which you can see because one side has a clear panel). It comes with Armoury Crate and Aura Creator, which let you monitor the computer's temperature and adjust lighting, fans, etc. For the most part the computer is quiet, except when under heavy load additional fans turn on. It has a couple of nice features, a handle on the top of the tower to make for easy transport and a headphone clip that folds out so you can hang your headphones on the tower. It comes with Windows 11 64-bit, which has some small differences from Windows 10, some of which can be switched back if you prefer. I was surprised the computer didn't come with any anti-virus software (other than Microsoft's Defender), but when I looked in the MyAsus program, it does include a trial for McAfee, if you care to use it. The computer comes with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, which so far seems to do very well with the computer games I've tried (Borderlands 2 & 3, Halo Infinite). The computer has a 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 and comes with 16GB of RAM. Storage is something of an issue. It comes with a Micron NVMe 500GB SSD for the main drive and a 1TB Toshiba hard drive for the backup drive. Since these will fill up quickly, eventually I'll have to either change out one or both of the drives, plus add some external storage. Connections are plentiful, with lots of USB ports (including new USB-C ports) and HDMI ports.

This desktop PC provides excellent performance, especially at it's price. The RTX 3060 is a great entry level graphics card that definitely holds its own, and paired with the 12th gen i7, it was able to easily run any game I threw at it. Most were at their highest settings too. Gears 5 has a great benchmark tool, and I included a screenshot of the performance I was getting. Forza Horizon 5 also has a good benchmark tool. I've included a screenshot of it as well. Both these games were hitting 60fps at 4k with settings at either ultra or high. Very impressive. The tower also has some excellent lighting effects. Gaming PCs can sometime to a little over the top with the lighting. This one can be very subtle and has some cool options to sync the lights with what's on screen, or the current load on the system. The side window opening is also very cool looking paired with the lighting effects. The tower feels very well built, but may be on the large size for some. There's even a cool flip-out hanger to hang your headphones on the tower. Pros: excellent performance at a great price, great lighting effects and see-through case Cons: the tower is a fair amount larger than other towers I've had in the past

This PC comes with just about everything needed to be gaming right out of the box. It took just a few minutes to unbox and setup, the handle on top is a nice addition and is handy if for some reason you will be taking it to LAN parties for some reason. The lighting effects are pretty cool as well and fully customizable and tweakable within the included Armoury Crate app. If you have used the HP Omen, Corsair, or Logitech apps before you will be very familiar with it and should be able to jump right in. I installed a few games from the Microsoft Game Pass to test the performance and visuals. The Forza Horizon 5 visuals were stunning and running at a solid 60 FPS at 4K was no problem for this machine. I also played a bit of Halo Infinite in 4K and it looked absolutely beautiful. Both games loaded quickly and Windows 11 boots pretty quick as well. Daily use works great as well when not gaming to surf the web or watch movies. Everything opens quickly and the machine is very responsive. Pros: - Pre-Built gaming machine that can run games at 4K - Asus quality hardware and support - Screaming fast internet downloads with their gigabit network adapter on my 1Gb Fiber home connection - Lots of color options and adjustments via the Armoury Crate Software - New UEFI BIOS that has multiple customization and overclock options if you want to tinker with that Cons - Still has some bloatware and pre-installed apps that have to be removed - Windows 11 takes getting used to if you haven't used it yet - Very cheap keyboard and mouse included, not even worth including honestly - Still not going to run a lot of new high end games at ultra settings - Limited upgrade options, not much options other than adding another 2.5" HDD unlike when I used to build custom game PC's back in college and had 5 or 6 hard drive bays to setup RAID's before SSD's and NVME's were so affordable Overall for those who want a decent mid-level gaming system this is a good entry at this price point. There are a lot of quality parts but don't be expecting to add multiple more HDD's or NVME's because this system isn't designed for that. If you want to play some great games right out the box with little hassle then this system is tough to beat.

You can't go wrong with asus generally speaking, and this prebuilt is no exception. However, you will probably find that the processing power bottle necks do to 16gig of ram that and the 500w power supply. Neither of which are big dollar items and not difficult to do. Even without upgrading those items you are still getting 1.5t of storage, a decent gpu and i7. My only other complaint is the limitations in bios.

Worked great for two years now the video card is not working. If i play any game the video card stops sending video to the monitor after about 10 minutes of play. I can hear the game still playing but can’t see. i’m not able to get out of it and get the monitor back on without a hard reset. Chat GPT thinks the GPUs heat sink may need to be re attached. I already updated GPU drivers. GPT also says the power supply may be going out causing the GPU to be underpowered. This was an ok PC but it doesn’t have slots to upgrade and the case / board is custom so I probably can’t even re use the case for a custom build.

Pros: Generally, well paired components except for tiny single rear fan and CPU cooler that really rob the system of performance. The system is well built with no loose connections and cable management is OK. GPU is well supported. RAM is set to dual change and runs at 3200Mhz. Cons: CPU immediately thermal throttles due to the tiny air cooler paired with the 12700F. The case runs at a slight negative pressure with one little rear fan; noisy but sufficient to deal with load. The case favors form over function with little ability to upgrade. I ripped the components out, dropped into a Corsair 4000D case and replaced the ill-equipped CPU cooler with a competent AIO. Then enabled re-bar and adjusted PL1/PL2 in bios to prevent power throttling. Now it's a competent mid-range PC. It's frustrating that a company like ASUS would come so close to delivering a decent prebuilt but miss the mark due to trimming cost in areas that negatively impact performance and aiming for an aesthetic that limits upgradeability.

      Dear Anders,

We do understand your concern about the fan noise.

The cooling system is adequate to disspate heat in an efficient manner. It is normal just like any other brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the laptop is under heavy load like gaming, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down.

Surely, additional fan and installing a CPU cooling system with a higher CFM will certainly improve heat dissipation.
