Excellent gaming PC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Asus ROG gaming PC is an excellent gaming PC. It features a 13th Gen Intel i7 CPU, Nvidia RTX 3070, 16GB Ram, and a 1TB SSD. I would have preferred a little more ram and SSD storage, but what is offered gets the job done no problem. The chassis of the system is very nice and features customizable lighting. There are 2 USB c, 2 USB A, and audio ports easily accessible on the front/top of the chassis, and several ports in back for everything else. The side features a clear window so you can easily see all the beautiful innards of the machine, which is kept nice and tidy and looks great. The CPU features a aio water cooler, which isn't mentioned in the description, but is a welcome addition. Overall, aesthetically, they did a fantastic job with this machine. It is very well-built while looking beautiful. The specs of this machine (previously listed) are very nice, while not being top of the line, they more than get the job done. I tested everything using my 144hz, 1440p gaming monitor, and every game I threw at it got well over 100 fps, if not topped out at 144. These included Forza Horizon 5, Doom Eternal, Metro Exodus Enhanced, and others. I was able to set all of these games at very high settings, if not the highest. They all looked absolutely great and ran smooth as butter. I ran the 3DMark benchmark test and scored over 13,000. The system gets a little loud when playing a game, but not as loud as I expected. I think my gaming laptop actually gets louder :-P. Overall, the gaming performance of this machine is fantastic and easily outperforms any modern console. One small issue I had with this system was the wifi. It features an external antenna that looks like a shark fin. At first I didn't even connect it because I didn't think it would be necessary, especially because I am in the same room, less than 20 feet away from my router. However, I was getting absolutely terrible speeds until I hooked it up. Even then, I still wasn't getting the expected speeds. I have a 1Gig internet plan, and I can usually pull about 500-600mbps on my phone if I am in the same room as the router. However, with the PC, I was only getting about 300. So I opted to hard wire to the router and things improved drastically, as expected. So I would just keep that in mind. Overall, this is an absolutely fantastic gaming PC. It is well built, aesthetically pleasing, and performs great. It can handle any modern game better than current consoles. Wifi performance is lackluster, but can be remedied by just hardwiring to your router. Not enough to subtract from the final score. I would easily recommend this to anyone in the market for a gaming PC.

Monster Machine with Endless Performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who is an avid gamer, streamer, and content creator I knew that this machine would truly be put to the test when I received it. Firstly I am upgrading my machine from an Intel i9-9900k so we are comparing a processor that is nearly 4 years old to a processor that is about 10 months old. I expected apples and oranges and that is exactly what I got. My First test was going to be Microsoft Flight Simulator. Historically as an avid flight simmer I know that MSFS has issues with throwing a heavy load on the CPU and less so on the GPU which can cause bottlenecking mainly on the CPU side not the GPU side. I loaded up MSFS in a 2K resolution and spawned at JFK airport in an A320 and took off. This area is known for its heavy load CPU and GPU because of all the assets it needs to render and load. The 13700KF handled it like clock work. Frame rates remained well above the acceptable limits and view changes and weather changes did not cause the bottleneck to trigger which was beyond a happy sight for me to see. Next I decided to stream the same thing. This is where I knew the processor would start being tasked. Loading a streaming software called OBS I streamed in 2K resolution and immediately due to the new processing load I saw frame rate issues (More So a GPU task) and nearly lost about 10 frames doing this. Understandable having everything maxed out on MSFS and streaming using the same GPU. I went into the settings and turned down some of the 'nice to have' details which alleviated the issue completely. If you are trying to stream an FPS or heavy GPU game be sure to do a lot of testing before hand as you will need to constantly tweak settings. I decided as I am a YouTube content creator that loading into Adobe Premiere and Editing 4K Footage (using Proxies for speed) would be a good test. I opened up Adobe Audition and Photoshop as well to increase the Multi-Core processing load. I edited together a quick 5 minute video in 4K and started the Render. This is where the 13700KF shined. The rendering was incredibly fast considering 4K uncompressed footage. I was used to it usually taking about 10-15 minutes. With the 13700KF... A mere 5-7 minutes. Granted this was just footage and audio and not much else needed to be rendered but it passed my test. Let's talk GPU. The 3070 is a solid graphics card with about 15% less power than its bigger friend the 3080. However, if you plan on gaming in 1080p or 2K you won't even know the difference. If you choose to game in 4K that is where the performance difference shines between the graphics cards. Loading into Call of Duty, Overwatch, MSFS, and Only Up it allowed me to see the performance difference between games. Only Up really was a base benchmark to see what it is capable of because it really just has to load assets and being single player the game has a lot less to compute and process. COD and OW were certainly different. COD uses significantly more lighting effects and textures which added load to the 3070 compared to OW where the design of the game is less heavy on the reflections and pretty effects. When testing in 2K there were only a few moments in COD where my frames would drop below 60 and it was not for long. These were the places where casted shadows and textures were clearly the hardest to render. MSFS as stated in the processor section has a bottleneck issue on the CPU side because of the way the sim is programmed. If you sim in 2k or less you won't even know it though. 4K is where you see the issue. The cooling design is great for the machine and I have no complaints of over-temping or loudness. The motherboard does have room for additional expansion should you need it so you aren't completely locked into the build if you want to upgrade. Overall this machine is worth the overall investment if you are a gamer, streamer, and/or Content Creator.

Asus Quality, Great For Gaming Without Hassle
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus ROG desktop. For those looking for a build with as many components from Asus as possible, this is it. From graphics card to the AIO cooler, it is all common Asus parts you can find off the shelf and use. Because of that, you will be expected to pay the Asus ROG tax. However, their components are usually consumer friendly and I personally have not had Asus product failed yet. As a gaming computer, this is pretty solid. I have been able to run all my games at 1440p usually at 60fps or above. The computer does not get too loud when gaming IF the game is not cpu bound. During stress tests, I've noticed that even at 100% gpu usage, the temps are under 70 degrees Celsius so it never gets too loud. The CPU is an interesting case. When demanded, it will boost to 4.7 GHz and the fans will kick in full blast at 85 degrees. However, it will then underclock and settle at around 4 GHz and remain stable at 55-60 degrees with the fans much quieter. Because of this, games that have surges of cpu demands will mean your computer will be loud on and off and that does get annoying at times. Overall, no real complaints as a gaming computer and general usage. It's performed during long gaming sessions without any hiccups or lag. In terms of extra software, there is unbelievably none outside of Armoury Crate from Asus. This is their software for controlling your case lights or monitoring computer status. It gives the illusion that you can tweak your cpu or fan settings with all the fancy dials, but in reality you can't do anything of the sort - you'll have to go in the bios to do any of that. For external peripherals, you get a bottom of the bin keyboard and mouse. The packaging that it came in was extremely protective, nice soft foam that can absorb all the abuse from shipping. The case itself is subjective, bit I think it's pretty sleek. Cable management is proper and it's mostly packed to the brim. Don't get any ideas of adding fans to the front, it's occupied by led strips and wires. If I could change one thing, it would be better fans as even at idle there is a low but noticeable hum. Overall, this is a decent gaming computer. You'll pay the extra price for being an Asus ROG piece, but it's an extra peace of mind as you know where every component is from. The RTX 3070 is last gen, and a 4070 would definitely make this more competitive in pricing. However, for what it is, it is not bad.

Dead on arrival
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wouldnt know how it worked, tried eveyrhing to get a display, new monitor different gpu ports. Took it back to bestbuy and the geek squad suggest i just return it sense they tend to sometimes get messed up in shipping. But a cyber power instead and the inside of that case had foam in it so everyrhing was nice and snug. I love asus and their ROG products so this was a disappointment.

Open Box had some issues
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer as an open box because Best Buy listed it as “excellent” condition. Bringing it home we found that the Wifi Adapter inside was faulty. Geek Squad wanted us to pay $150 to get it replaced. Their customer service was super unhelpful. I should’ve just bought a new one.

A good value, quality prebuilt
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been building PC’s for about a decade now and I really enjoy the process of building my own computer. There is however, a value in buying a prebuilt system. Today, there are endless options, components, and makers to choose from. Coming from a place where I build PC’s I have always respected ASUS components. For that reason I had lots of hope for this prebuilt PC. First impressions are that this PC appears solid and well built. Its heavy, and doesn’t creak when I pick it up and move it around. Inside, the cable management is excellent, and the connections were all solid. I checked each one to see if they were well connected. The side panel was very easy to remove which is always something I look for in a case. Gaming performance are what you would expect from a PC with an RTX 3070 and modern i7 CPU. You can dissect the heck out of the performance and try to get super in depth figures, however, I want to focus on the stuff MOST people and gamers will care about, how it performs for games. I will focus on its performance in Diablo 4 as that’s my daily driver right now and the hottest game on the market. I ran every single setting maxed out, on a 21:9 ratio monitor (3440 x 1440) 175hz. I was able to hold onto 175hz in most settings, with obvious drops in frames below 100 sometimes in major towns, and when large enemy mobs were on screen. Never did the game ever reach unplayable FPS or even below 60 for any prolonged period of time. I also played some Battlebit Remastered and this PC absolutely destroyed it. I was maxed out, 175fps steady for 90% of the time. Obviously, browsing the web, doing work on MS Office products like Excel was flawless. The power of this PC is going to work for 99% of people. Unless you are trying to run modern AAA title games at 4k then this PC is going to do the job. In conclusion, as someone with a decade of experience building PCs, I have a deep appreciation for the process. However, there is undeniable value in purchasing a prebuilt system, especially considering the vast options available today. This particular prebuilt PC, featuring ASUS components, made a strong first impression with its solid build quality and impeccable cable management. In terms of gaming performance, it delivered as expected with its RTX 3070 and modern i7 CPU, providing smooth gameplay in demanding titles like Diablo 4 and indie games like Battlebit Remastered. For the majority of users, this PC's power and capabilities are more than sufficient, unless specific requirements demand 4K gaming performance in modern AAA titles. Overall, high-performing option that caters to both enthusiasts and casual users.

Great Gaming desktop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used plenty of different computers over the years. I have used Desktops, laptops, windows and Macbooks as well. This is the first gaming desktop I have used in a long time. The last time I used a desktop was an old Dell XPS prior to them owning alienware. It is nice to have a desktop again and an upgrade path unlike with laptops with their soldiered on CPU, GPU and sometimes memory and//or storage. The Specs Intel i7-13700KF 16GB DDR4 3200 mhz RAM 1TB SSD ( Micron) Nividia RTX 3070 (8GB VRAM) Once you open the box and look at the desktop you get to see the beautiful case. It has a glass side panel and it lights up. the CPU also has an AIO cooler to keep it cool. The intel chip inside this PC has a KF at the end which means it could be overclocked plus the F means it doesn't have integrated graphics onto the CPU which is ok since this is a gaming desktop and you don't have to worry about battery life. As terms of performance this computer will do good for 1080P gaming with the desktop 3070 and 13th gen intel i7 cpu. Yes it is a generation older than the 4000 series but it still is a good card especially if you can find this pc on sale. I have played games like wow, Tomb Raider, Cyberpunk and this has no issues playing at high settings at 1080P
