This has been a great gaming laptop for all the games that I have played on it. One thing that prevents his from getting a five star is when I try to play Heroes of the Storm it will black screen my computer after a few games and restart it’s self. Not sure if this is an actual issue or just from it over heating.

Computer would not turn on sometimes Read on the internet other users were having similar problem. Jiggle the switch was recommended fix? Computer would hang-up and the screen would freeze. Two fixes for this: wait it out, 5 to 25 minutes or force off and back on. Took it to Geek Squad - twice - they shipped it to Geek City who subsequently shipped it to vendor - Asus for repairs. Computer now gone 21 days and Geek Squad, Geek City and Asus unable to locate computer. So, I paid $1,835.99 for the computer and $199.00 for a Geek Squad protection plan for a computer that hasn't worked correctly - right out of the box.

Despite having a GTX1070 graphics card built into it, this particular laptop does not work with the Oculus Rift. It connects to the Rift ok, but it will not deliver any video. I called Asus tech support, and Jeffrey said this Asus laptop is not compatible with the Oculus Rift. So, I exchanged it for an Alienware laptop, which works great with my Oculus Rift! However, other than this issue, the Asus laptop is pretty sweet. It's super fast, and it's noticeably lighter and smaller than the Alienware. It just seems silly to buy a high-end laptop in 2017 that doesn't work with VR.

    Replacement laptop

    Worked for 6 months

Bought a very, very similar Asus model but not this exact one, for my son. Specs identical except mine came with a 256 Gb SSD and not the 128 Gb SSD. It worked well for 6 months. Then my son couldn't get it to turn on. He found he could get it to turn in by hitting power button repeatedly for 1-4 minutes. Sounds crazy but he continued to use it out of necessity (1st year in college). We contacted Asus and they said send it back to them in Texas. A month later it came back after they replaced the motherboard. Seemed to work fine. Son called me from out of state on his first day back to college 2nd year, it won't turn on. This is 2 weeks since it came back from Asus. Completely dead. No lights. Call Asus again and they say send it back. This time they replace the motherboard again, the in-out board, camera, and front and rear panels. We get it a month later. In the meantime, I dust off my 10-year old Dell and it fires right up so I send it to my son to use since Asus doesn't do any loaners. This time, the notebook works for 2 whole days! Incredible! Call Asus again and after talking to a supervisor, they agree to replace it with another one. But, their policy is to replace it with a refurbished one. I have no choice but to agree to their terms. They tell me to ship the notebook back and they will process the replacement within 2 weeks. Three weeks later, I haven't heard from them so I call them again. They tell me that a Pause has been placed because they need to contact me about offering me a different model. I complain that it's been 2 weeks since the Pause was placed and no one has emailed me. The next day, I get an email where they ask me to select a replacement from 3 choices. One doesn't come with an optical drive (mine does), another does but is missing the SSD drive altogether (fast boot up), and the last does have the SSD but only 128Gb (mine has 256Gb). And the worst is the fact that mine came with the 4K Ultra HD screen and none of the 3 options come with the 4K display. What a deal right? So none of these options are acceptable and I'm still fighting with Asus. This is my story and experience with Asus. I do not recommend them. Get something else, skip Asus.

It works great for, I mostly play Witcher and WoW on it. No issues, works great for the light gaming I do.
