Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the ROG Swift 24" LCD FHD G-SYNC Monitor's high refresh rate, G-SYNC compatibility, and excellent picture quality, frequently praising its performance in gaming. While some find the price high for a 1080p TN panel and note the lack of built-in speakers, the majority of users highlight the monitor's vibrant colors and ease of use. A few users reported issues with dead pixels, but these were not widespread concerns.

    Great Monitor

As a hardcore FPS gamer I am really enjoying this monitor. The screen is good, colors out of the box are better than most TN panels which typically require a lot of tweaking. Response time and Input lag feel similar to my BenQ RL2455HM which is good. The refresh rate is what really makes this monitor special, that being said most people won't notice a difference overclocking above 144hz. (myself included) One of my favorite features of the monitor is the OSD controlled by the joystick, it is like night and day tweaking settings in this monitor compared to my BenQ. Build quality is great, no defects and all features work as described. My only complaint is that the monitor is overpriced for a 1080p TN panel, although G-Sync does typically add $100 to most monitors. At the time of this review Best Buy is the only Retailer in the US selling the PG248Q. Lastly I would like to warn potential buyers that this monitor ships in it's manufacturer packaging increasing the chance of theft. I would be cautious about choosing home delivery.

Recently I purchased this monitor, and honestly I am amazed by this monitor. Refresh rate is amazing with it being able to be overclocked to 180hz out of the box, and G-Sync works wonders in fast games such as CS:GO, PUBG, and on forth. The TN panel does wash out colors but that is a oversight in my opinion. Honestly the colors look good compared to my old monitor which was a old I mean OLD HP monitor, 7 years old that is, and is well worth the money in my personal opinion.

Beware: Newer models have major issues

I picked up this monitor a week and a half ago after reading great reviews, and this would be an amazing monitor if it didn't seem that the later production runs didn't have defective TN panels. First, let's look at the GREAT things about this monitor: - 144Hz - Fast refresh rate - G-sync is *amazing* and everything people claim it is. - Colors, once calibrated, are decent (BUT... they don't stay that way) What's wrong here: Upon setting up the monitor, I noticed that the gamma was *extremely* high. Everything was washed out. No big deal, I just need to calibrate the monitor, right? So I spend an hour fiddling with the settings and finally find a color/gamma/brightness/contrast setting where the washed-out nature of the colors was acceptable, but there was still a yellow tint at the top of the monitor and the white was still so bright (even with *very low* brightness/gamma/contrast and color temp settings) that it hurt my eyes. After scouring the Internet and trying every calibration option I could find, there was no way to fix it. On top of which, the screen backlight created a white fog effect on any setting which was contributing to the wash-out effect. I was also getting significant color banding effects and pixelation on some content which was making it look terrible. The final straw was that the monitor seemed to be inconsistent and seemed to have a warm-up time (30-60 minutes - which is very long and hard to plan for) - My calibration settings would end up off every now and again. Every time I adjusted them and made it right, if the monitor sat on for a while or went to sleep, the gamma, contrast and brightness on the panel (not in the settings) would change, meaning there was no real way to calibrate the monitor consistently. A few days ago I started searching the Internet and found a decent number of people experiencing the *exact* same issues with this monitoring starting with monitors produced in the middle of last year. Asus support RMAed the monitor for several of these people and after several monitors, people reported that there was no resolution to the issue. I love Asus products, and I loved the G-sync effect (which made my games extremely fluid and easy on the eyes) but the calibration problems with this TN panel are a HUGE problem. I'm returning the monitor today and given the consistent problems others have had, I don't intend on playing monitor roulette. Back to the drawing board for a new gaming monitor. :(

    Absolutely Love This Monitor

This Monitor is AMAZING!!!! I picked it up the very fist day it came out. I got this because I love active 3D and it's a really good panel was well. And I wanted to wait a while before I placed my review up. But I was unfortunate to get a dead pixel that showed up after the return period, so I couldn't exchange it for another one. As well as I can't send it in to Asus because I don't meet their pixel replacement program, which is a minimum of 3 dead pixels. So besides the whole dead pixel I absolutely love this monitor, and I would recommend it so some one that has the hardware to support it/ someone that really wants a high refresh rate. I honestly think this monitor should be 75-50 bucks cheaper though.

    Smooth Gameplay, Terrible Colors

I have been using an ASUS VG248QE for months before I bought this monitor. My VG24 is a 144hz with great picture quality. The main selling point for this monitor was it was G-Sync capable, in which it did deliver. If you can push the frames, 144hz with GSYNC is AMAZING. But there is only one problem I have with the ROG, and it's a BIG problem. The picture is absolutely atrocious. Compared to my VG, and considering it is made by the same company, the picture quality is flat out bad. The only way I can describe it is that on the ROG, the picture quality is dull. The color on my VG just *pops* more, if that makes sense. Black on the ROG is not really black, the color just isn't deep enough. I've tried for over a month to accept the color scheme, after weeks of messing with settings, and I just can't get over it. As much as I wanted to love this monitor for how smooth gameplay is, I just couldn't love it, and trust me, I really tried. Maybe my VG spoiled me, and if I never had it next to this one, I probably wouldn't ever had noticed, but it's there and for the price I paid for this monitor, the atrocious colors are simply unacceptable. I am returning this monitor this weekend, and while I will miss the smoothness, I still want my games to look good. It's a bittersweet trade-off, but I expect quality when I pay $500 dollars, especially when it cost 2x as much as my VG24.

    An Amazing Monitor

The ASUS ROG PG248Q is by far my favorite monitor! I use it as my gaming monitor because of its amazing 144hz and 180hz refresh rates. It allows me to stay on top of the action much easier, as well as see what is happening much faster. The built in G-Sync is definitely needed, much better than most games custom V-Sync options! One of my favorite features of this monitor is the ability to adjust the height and/or orientation of the screen with ease. Most opposing brands have much less ease when it comes to moving the screen. If you are an FPS gamer, this monitor is one of the must haves!

    Super nice 1080 monitor

I have been using the same LG monitor for years at 1680x1050 maximum resolution. My old rig has served me well but I'm finding it hard to play the newest games so... time to upgrade. I have all the new parts lined up on pc parts picker but decided to pull the trigger on a new monitor before purchasing the rest. I've been doing a lot of searching for what I thought would serve me well and landed on this beauty. This is a Best Buy exclusive and it came in under the $400 price range that I decided to spend. My son just upgraded his rig with a gtx 1070 and an i5 skylake processor but no new monitor. We hooked up this monitor and cloned it with his monitor to his new system for comparison. He fell in love with it playing the first game we tried (Battlefield 1). He showed me the massive screen tearing that he gets playing fps games and you really can tell the difference in screen quality and colors with this monitor. It's also much brighter than his. Needless to say, he didn't want to give it up and played on it for the rest of the evening. What I like: 144hz 1 ms response time Gsync!! Easy height adjustment, pivot, and angle adjustments Solid base Crisp picture with good colors The red light ring on the base is a nice touch What I didn't like: 1920x1080 (actually looking for QHD) 1080 wasn't a very noticeable upgrade in resolution. It's a tn display so the viewing angles leave a lot to be desired but that's nitpicking. I'm always sitting centered on the screen when using my computer so like I said, it's not an issue for me. To date, this is the best monitor I've owned. You won't find a better gaming monitor with these specs and gsync at this low of a price! This was also a monitor that they had in-store so no shipping or waiting for it. Sweet! Buy it already!

Long story short, from the Asus vg248qe which I still have, I decided to purchase the Dell s2716dg. Let me tell you, within one day of use, I exchanged the Dell due to horrible color banding issues. Even when mine was the A10 version, which is supposed to be one of the newer ones. I couldn’t last 10 mins browsing on the Internet. I tried adjusting the colors myself, nothing worked. Used a friend’s setting didn’t work. Playing a game was terrible, becuase it was making me naseous. So I decided to go back to Bestbuy, and get this since I really don’t care about the resolution even though I have a 2080ti. The Asus has 180hz, 1ms and Gsync! If you’re playing on high hz, make sure to get something with Gsync, otherwise you will deal with screen tearing. Overall, the pg248q has been good. You do need to adjust the colors, but looks good. The only downside to this, it is lcd. I wish it was led, that would have made it even better. Overall, it is a great monitor!

Great monitor and great price (When it's on sale)

I picked up this monitor in store on Friday the 18th and used it that night and the following morning. The Good: It's blazing fast and smooth with it's high refresh rate, gsync and its 1ms responce time. At 1080p it's a great match for my GTX1070. I played a few games of Overwatch and CS:GO on it at 180hz and it felt amazing. It's a TN panel so colors aren't going to be as great as an IPS but out of the box the colors are pretty darn good for a TN. In game and during use, it's hardly an issue. The pro's definitely outweigh the con's in this regard. The Bad: The reason I'm giving this monitor 4 stars is because my unit ended up being defective (mildly) and i had to exchange it. Not a huge deal breaker but still pretty annoying(not something you expect to have to do when spending $350-$450 on a monitor, but stuff happens). It had a faint gray horizontal line across the top third of the screen that appeared only when using DisplayPort (the only input that allows for the high refresh rate and gsync). The issue didn't show up on HDMI. So the issue wasn't purely panel damage. I enjoyed it while I had it despite the line issue, and am looking forward to getting my replacement in 2 days.

If you have a gtx graphics card and a hole to burn in your pocket, this one is the best 1920x1080 monitor you are going to get. The 1ms response time makes even moving your cursor beautiful, and the G-sync helps make sure what ever game you are playing stay smooth. One issue I had to figure out for myself though: never use the overclocking option all the way up to 180hz. First off, there is simply no need to have that high of a frequency, and it makes the monitor white washed or some type of major back light bleed when it is cranked up to 180hz. I recommend you turn it on only to 160hz, as it keeps the color quality of the monitor and makes sure your games can surpass 60hz.
