Preformance dip in turbo mode

Preformance mode gives me the best quality and framerates. It's paired with the rog Ally. Not sure if that's hardware malfunction or software bugs in armory crate not syncing properly with turbo mode

The performance issues are fixed by utilizing AMD drivers, and are on par with the 3080 XG Mobile. Not to mention that AMD offers their super resolution for all games in fullscreen via their software, while DLSS is only offered in certain instances and is not open source. This is great price vs. performance, the connector issues are gone on this, and the hub on this works great, FYI the USB C Hub is separate from the x8 pcie 3.0 link so it does not reduce the GPU bandwidth. 5 out of 5. Can't wait for the 7800XT Mobile when it comes out.

I would not bother trying to get the 3080 or 4090 version. Just get this instead. I use mine for my ally and its been great, fan dosent really bother me because its behind my tv. I just set my resolution to 1440p.

It'll keep trying to install over and over and over. and when it finally does, it doesnt display any signal to monitor. Probably why asus seems to have discontinued it.

Nearly unusable without headphones. Also nearly unusable with ROG Ally. Hitches and stutters galore on games. Don’t believe the average FPS from YouTube videos. They are “correct” but 75 fps with stutters is worse than 30FPS. Most tech enthusiasts on YouTube are not actual gamers so it’s awesome to them. To me, save your money or buy an entire Rig instead. Oh yeah it randomly disconnected and it BSOD my ROG ally so bad I had to reformat the whole thing. Stay away.

There was a month or two if you had this with a ROG ally the device would cycle between connected and disconnected when trying to activate it. Further, if you're trying to use this with an Ally as a switch-like set up the armory crate and quick settings have no external controller support. As for performance it's actually good. If you can handle the jank of ASUS software and this being overpriced and proprietary to only ASUS hardware then go for it.

You get high fidelity graphics from a small device. However, the process of connecting or disconnecting often had a negative side effect. Most of the time it meant the integrated gpu did not get enabled on disconnect.

It looked amazing and played diablo 4 really good. I played for about two hours. No problem what so ever. So now the negative, 1. the fans on it could be a little loud. I had to turn it off because my wife wanted to sleep. 2. Honeslty speaking if uour buying a ally rog they should sell you the 6850 xl mobile as a package for 500. I do think the sell price of 800 is alot when you only going to use it for a ally rog. Unless you have this as your main desk top its a little over price for just a ally rog
