Amazing With Ally
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best purchase besides my ROG ALLY! Turns my handheld to a crazy performing desktop pc. Love having the choice of a high performance gaming pc and then take it on the go

Game changer!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So bought this for my rog ally and as a replacement for my home pc. Overall I think its a great add on and seems to work fine. The fans are loud probably mentioned by alot of people. Make sure to aim correctly, if not, you'll have hot air coming at you. My issue is only, I don't use it as much as I though I would. This is more of a personal thing though. Follow the instructions included on how to connect and disconnect. Maybe if I was to by a laptop to pair this, then I could see the use, but the pricing is steep.

Insane
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not for everyone. I didn’t have a laptop and leased the rog ally as I didn’t have enough, but was without a console for almost 2 years. Bought the Xg mobile to get better performance. This card is an absolute unit. Last of us is one of the most demanding games. On extreme settings with raytracing, it never dips below 60 fps which is insane. In mw2019, I get over 130 fps and never dips below. Highs are 160. Wz2 In game gets a constant 90-130 fps on extreme settings as preset. Beamng gets 90-130 and never dips below that on ultra. I believe this card will last me for a few years until I need to play on medium/low settings. Then I just upgrade to the 5090 Xg mobile. I got this as a way to have a laptop experience on the go and man am I happy with my purchase. I’ve completely turned from a laptop/pc owner to using the rog ally + Xg mobile full time. I’ve played hours on it at a time and temps always stick around 80 degrees. Amazing product, but def overpriced. I had the money so I’m not disappointed in the slightest. Also didn’t have any issues reconnecting and disconnecting. It did say it couldn’t read the Xg mobile and that it detected it, but one of the cords was loose. That was an easy fix. This is a great product and you def won’t be disappointed

Four stars doesnt mean is bad
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didnt expect to bought it until I see the 500 bucks of discount. Is easy to plug and easy to work with in my Asus Rog Flow X13 My main purposes was using it to work with stable diffusion and games. Seems reliable for some years. Fps have increase a lot and working ai images handle sizes of 1300x1300 pixels. Something that only high graphic cards do. The price with that or not depending how you see it, you have 6-4 gb more of ram than the normal graphic and you got a station port. Howewer, even with the discount, I feel the price is a little bit higher for what it offers. The usb cable is very short making it not that portable of what it looks. The graphic is very loud and I think the feel of the plastic is cheap. Something that you need to know If you have the system with the connection for the graphic, the Asus Flow, and you bought before, is definitely worth it, and you get a convertible pc, one of the smallest ones with a lot of fun. But for the other part, you increase the price like 400 bucks or more than a gamer laptop

Amazing Attachment Horrible Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This provides everything that the laptop does not have for an outrageous price. This costs the same amount as the laptop. I must say that using the 3080 video card instead of the integrated 3050 is great.

Decent Graphics Boost but Loud
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use with my ROG Ally and turn it into a gaming PC. While I knew it wouldn't be as powerful as a gaming desktop PC with a dedicated graphics card, I figured for the price and since I already owned the Ally that it would be 95% of the experience. I was a little off on my thoughts as this really gets you about 70% of the experience. The Ally's Z1 Extreme is a pretty good gaming CPU but all of the bottlenecks in my games were still due to the XG Mobile. On 1080p, I was able to play with High/Extreme settings on most games and able to get around 90-120FPS. For the price of this thing, you'd be better off getting a full on gaming PC and using the Ally as the portable unit. Additionally, while gaming on the XG Mobile, that thing is LOUD. Even when I put on closed back headphones while I was gaming I could still clearly hear the fan on the XG Mobile which I didn't love. I'd save your coin and splurge on a desktop and skip this because it doesn't make your Ally a gaming desktop. It makes it a gaming laptop and that's being generous.

Best external GPU for ROG devices.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice addition to your ALLY or ROG laptop, in my case i paired it with a Z13 2022 i9 3050Ti and is working really well. Framerates did a great change to make better use of the 120 Hrz displays. Playing at 1080 is jsut perfect but I will definitely support 2k or even 4K. Didn't match my desktop RTX 3070 as expected but is was kinda close this being a laptop 3080 in an external case. Would recommend but first make sure this is what you need for productivity.

Runs Starfield 45-55 FPS medium 4K paired w/ Ally
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This XG Mobile worked flawlessly as soon as I connected the device the Ally recognized it. Then took about 30 seconds to connect to my 4K TV (Sony A80j). It doesnt have G-Sync using a DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 cable but not missing it. I played Horizon Zero dawn at 4K ultra settings and got 65-85 FPS solid. Played Starfield for a little on 4K medium settings and got 45-60 FPS.so far no issues and it just works great! I also price matched and feel alot better about my purchase. THANKS BESTBUY

XG Mobile Dock: A Niche Gaming Delight
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently integrated the ROG Ally with the XG Mobile for a gaming experience on my TV, focusing on controller-friendly games and relishing the extensive PC game catalog. While the setup meets my needs, it’s worth noting that the connector isn’t always recognized on the initial attempt, which could be a minor inconvenience for some users. As for noise, it doesn’t bother me personally, but I recognize that it might be a concern for those more sensitive to such factors. A crucial consideration is the cost comparison – the XG Mobile Dock comes at a price point surpassing that of combining an eGPU enclosure and a graphics card. This aspect is noteworthy, especially for users mindful of their budget and seeking cost-effective solutions. On a positive note, the XG Mobile shines in terms of size and convenience. Its compact design allows me to travel with the entire setup effortlessly, occupying minimal space. This portability enhances the overall appeal of the gaming experience.

Awsome, but you have to pay...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The device works fantastic. It bought this for my Asus Ally and it had basicly made it a gaming system that is close to a mid range gaming PC. However, it is costly. Would highly recommend but just know, you will be oaying for it. If you had an Asus laptop that was compatible as well, would make the cost a bit more practical. You will enjoy it if you can afford the cost.

Good for what it is but a overpriced
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good, I still think these are way overpriced, but I did get mine on a sale for 999, imo still overpriced for what you get but it does a great job of keeping the heat out of my laptop when playing games.

Good device
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a good device while it lasted. Bought mine in august and it decided to blow its power supply out in october for no apparent reason. Wouldnt power on, no red light, and no pass through power to charge my ally or power anything else. Sad to see it go.

Pairs great with the Asus ROG Ally.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The XG Mobile 3080 pairs well with the ROG Ally. I have it hooked up to the Ally which is hardwired to the router. I play primary on Steam Link. The experience is great as I can play every game maxed out at 60 FPS on Ultra right now. One of the additional benefits is that the cooling solution for the GPU inside the Ally is now dedicated to just the Z1. Worth it!

Turn my Ally into a desktop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item can be pricey but if you catch it on sale or open box well worth the money. When I hook this up to my rog Ally it's like I have a desktop almost can play anything on ultra settings with a little bit of Ray tracing on a 2K screen AKA 1440p.
