Great Computer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome computer. Great preference with amazing airflow design. Keyboard is back lit and colorful and can be customized for any colors. Computer color is beautiful. Upon start windows got windows 11 update and it was ready to go. It handles every game without any lagging. It has one hdmi output, two display mini port, two usb connectors and memory card slot. 16gb of RAM and 1TB ssd hd. I love big mouse touchpad and booting logo.

A great all-around laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is stylish, versatile and has a decent enough battery life for the specs. The screen is bright and colorful, the keyboard has great key travel and feedback, and the speakers sound good when playing games or watching videos. Performance is throttled when running off of 100w of USB-C power, but is still usable when on the go if leave the sizable A/C power brick at home. It does get noisy at the max performance preset while running games or rendering video, but a quick hotkey press to change the performance profile or the use of USB-C power can limit the noise and heat considerably. The only thing lacking for gamers is the NVIDIA suite of nice-to-haves when it comes to their graphics cards: no DLSS (though there is the comparable FSR), middling ray-tracing performance, and an inferior video encoder compared to NVENC for streaming or lossy local encoding. Despite these lack of features, the laptop more than makes up for them with its decent performance in modern games for the price.

Fast, compact laptop with long lasting battery
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop about half a year ago, and so far, I'm satisfied. I use it for work mostly but occasionally I play games on it, and it can run really graphic-intensive games like Cyberpunk 2077 without tweaking the settings too much. As for other things, the processor is really fast and doesn't even break a sweat with most tasks. It can easily keep up with almost anything you throw at it. I owned a "gaming" laptop before I bought the ROG, so I was somewhat concerned about battery life. This device let's you disable the graphics card which greatly improves battery life. If I'm only using Chrome and Outlook I get over 10 hours of battery life on medium screen brightness. I travel quire frequently, so the 500 nits of brightness this screen can put out is very welcome, as is the compact form with slim bezels. I would have loved to have an OLED or Mini LED screen, but at just over $1000 dollars that's too much to ask for. The only thing I have to criticise about this device is that it's a bit moody, I've had it randomly not turn on on a charged battery. In those situations I needed to hook it up with the charger to turn it on, even though the battery was charged. The first G14 I got had a fried motherboard after one month of usage, which was replaced by best buy "Geek Squad" in less than a week.

Great hardware, lackluster software support
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've loved this laptop so far. The screen looks great, both high resolution and high refresh rate. It's a tad small for my tastes, but it's a nonissue most of the time. Built pretty solidly, feels high quality. Gaming performance is great, I can generally get between 60-120 fps on most new games with FSR on (sometimes off!). There's a few gripes I have. Asus is pretty behind on their GPU drivers built for the laptop (over a year), which leaves a decent amount of performance on the table - especially for newer games. You can install the generic AMD drivers, but they may be less stable. Recent AMD chips have an odd stuttering issue with fTPM, Asus still, hasn't released a bios update including the new AGESA firmware which would fix this, even though most other chips have been fixed for even years now. Overall, the hardware is great, but my experience with ASUS software has been pretty terrible. Their driver support, bios updates, and preinstalled software are all pretty terrible. Ghelper is a much preferred alternative to the preinstalled ASUS stuff. Overall, pretty great laptop, just a few issues that don't cause much more than the occasional minor annoyance.

||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent gaming laptop, very fast and powerful for modern games, does heat up a bit but not too bad and the form factor is a given with the heat dissapation, screen is great, the only reason i returned this is because i feel like with the amd configuration i was constantly tweaking drivers and settings which this might be a plus for some i thought personally it was a small flaw on an otherwise amazing laptop.

Great laptop! With some buggy software:/
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop can either be one of the best ones you have ever owned, or the complete bane of your existence. PROS First, the screen is absolutely stunning! Second, colors are vibrant, Third, brightness (500 Nits!) Fourth, keyboard very tactile and great key spread (Lenovo still sits above). Great speakers (With some small oomph on the bass). CONS Comes installed with so much bloatware it genuinely affects battery life, screen brightness, and even typing (It took a complete uninstallation of all pre-installed software to fix background stuttering that would cause the keyboard to mistype constantly). On the other hand, the laptop did get a little too hot when pushed hard, but can be remedied with software solutions to maintain temperatures. OVERALL The laptop is great bang for the buck if you’re looking for something more gaming and office productivity oriented. However, if you’re looking for something more inclined towards 3D work, such as blender, I would suggest the Nvidia equipped G14s. Lastly, if you are not very inclined towards reinstalling windows, or removing bloatware, there are tutorials out there that explain the process in easy steps (G-helper).

Fantastic Machine!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic laptop! I'm coming from an M1 Macbook Air so I'll compare it to that. Pro's: 1) The screen is awesome. One of the best I've had the pleasure of using on a Windows laptop. I think the Macbook Air I was coming from has a slightly higher resolution, but the the G14 is slightly brighter to my eye and is matte, which I prefer. 2) The keyboard is great. The layout is nice and comfortable and the key travel is just deep enough and clicky enough to be satisfying. I much prefer this keyboard over the Macbook Air. 3) You have plenty of ports. The Macbook Air is lacking ports. This machine has a lot of them. There is one downside to the port configuration (see con's), but otherwise I couldn't be happier with the port selection. 4) Versatility. This is probably the best part of this machine. Depending on the mode you pick in the ASUS Armoury Crate software, you have the option to reduce power and be in a "silent" mode, to extend battery life, or put it in one of the other modes for more performance. 5) The battery is great. I'm getting 8-10 hours on silent mode with light mixed use (office applications, playing music, web browsing). Not quite as good as a Macbook Air, but close. 6) Build quality. This machine is built like a tank. No wiggles or creaks or weird noises or anything like you sometimes see with Windows laptops. The build quality is not as good as a Macbook Air's unibody design, but I still prefer the G14 for it's softer touch material. 7) The performance is fantastic. It's handling everything I am throwing at it without issue. There are tasks the Macbook Air handles better, like transcoding video, but other things the G14 performs better at - like gaming. 8) The trackpad is fantastic. Not quite as smooth as the Macbook air, but easily the best I've used on a Windows laptop. I would say it's 95% as good as the Macbook Air. 9) Expandability. You can add up to 32gb of additional RAM for a total of 40gb. 10) It takes some configuring in the Dolby app, but the speakers sound fantastic. About as 90% as good as the Macbook Air. They get plenty loud after configuring the Dolby app, but lack a little of the clarity the Macbook Air has. Con's: 1) The Armoury Crate software is not great. It's not awful, but could stand to be faster. 2) There is no track-point. This really shouldn't be on this list, but I like track-points so I wish it had one. 3) No power-bridge. Again, really shouldn't be on here, but it's a Lenovo feature that died in 2018 I wish someone would resurrect. 4) No Thunderbolt. Intel owns Thunderbolt, so of course this machine doesn't have it. Not having it means that you can't use a dock, so when you are at your desk you likely have several cables coming out of both sides of the machine. This is the biggest drawback of this device. You can't do a 1, or probably even a 2 cable desk setup. I think that about covers it all. The machine is fantastic and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I would recommend this machine to pretty much anyone.

Good laptop, but default settings bad.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.20262026 I've only had this laptop for 1.5 days. So I'm not the best person to review this computer, and bestbuy doesn't want to allow the updating of reviews, but in any case, y'all can look at any YouTube longer-term reviews, and I want to warn/give a tip to future laptop owners. I like this laptop, with some caveats. I'm not a hardcore gamer. I'm a college student who'd like a cool computer to expand his creativity with, and also code (and maybe compile google chrome from source lol). With that in mind, I haven't used things too much, i'm not a color accuracy nerd, etc. Tips for computer owners: DISABLE TURBO BOOST ON SILENT/BATTERY MODE! This computer likes to *always* use turbo boost, even when doing simple tasks. You DON'T NEED IT FOR EVERYDAY TASKS. It seems like every AMD Ryzen laptop has the same issue. Hence, disable (or control) turbo boost - there's a reddit thread with info on how to - google it. I set my silent power plan to have Aggressive Efficient setting, and it runs much cooler and with more battery. The good stuff: iGPU: The integrated GPU is already plenty powerful, and I could play games like Ori and the WIll of the Wisps at what seemed like 60fps. Again, not a hardcore gamer, but it seemed cool to me. The display: I enjoyed the 120Hz QHD screen. It was visible in the sun too. 16:10 is very good for reading content. Cool stuff. The size: Of course, the reason I bought this was because it's tiny and packs a lot of power. It's a bit diagonally larger than my MacBook and this can actually game. Now, for the bad stuff: WIFI CARD: Using a mediatek card in any laptop should be a crime. I don't understand why ASUS would hamper their own laptop so much as to stoop to this level. It's slow, unreliable, and awful. I plan to change this to a $15 intel wifi one if possible. STORAGE: 1 TB Storage is nothing. If you're going to be downloading lots of games, you're going to be chewing through storage a lot. I'm planning to buy a 2tb+ SSD in the future, but those are still expensive. So keep that in mind. WINDOWS 11: Still very buggy, still garbage in my opinion. Had a black screen of death two times; i'm pretty sure it was just windows being amazing. There's also sometimes issues with the framerate of animations not looking smooth at all, etc. W11 eats a third of the 16GB memory that this laptop has. I tried using Fedora Linux, but asusctl doesn't exist yet and it wasn't the smoothest experience. Hopefully things will improve later so I can get off this cursed OS. THE HEAT: I'm coming from an M1 Macbook air (which would be perfect if it could game) and any amount of heat seems inadequate to me for basic stuff. Also, it does get hot when playing games. Even with only the APU, the CPU temp got up to 85 C. Yet to be determined: Battery Life - it wasn't great with turbo boost, but it has greatly improved without it. I haven't really tested the battery life, but Windows is telling me while writing this review that 6 hours are remaining w/ 55%. I'm gonna guess that it's going to be 6-7 hours for basic work, but check on YouTubers (especially those who also have turbo boost disabled!) for more precise info. EDIT: I waited a day with the turbo boost set to efficient aggressive, and the battery was about 5 hours with mixed YouTube videos/installing Creative Cloud/note-taking/light programming. That said, look at other reviews to understand how it can vary. I'll keep considering if the thermal limitations are worth the 14" size. Maybe I'll switch to the 15" version (an NVIDIA GPU would've been good to have b/c of machine learning) It seems like I can't modify my response, so if you guys have any questions reply and I'll try to answer them!

Beautiful and Powerful
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoy this laptop. It is very portable and easy to use. Graphics and screen are beautiful. My advice, read some of the other reviews on how to get it to run a little cooler. It definitely helps lower the temperatures of both the gpu and cpu. A few things that don’t bother me but may bother someone else: -The fans kick on at max basically as soon as you start the game. They are noticeable but I don’t think they’re super loud. I can still hear the game from the speakers clearly. -It has a pretty slow start up. I actually thought it was broken the first time I turned it on. When I use it frequently the start up is quicker but if I leave it for a couple days the slow start is back. Overall I love this little laptop!

I would not buy this again
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I like: - The power: can handle pretty much everything - Screen: Nice and bright screen, with not too much bezel - speaker: Loud, clear and comes with serious bass for a laptop. - Keyboard: Feels good - Exterior design is nice What I don't like - Get extremely hot, with not even gaming - battery can drain pretty fast, at just working and browsing - the inside plastic feels I am not fan - palm rest: makes my palm something sweaty and uncomfortable. - No FN lock - wifi card : pretty poor, but that's easy to replace with a better one. - Asus software are heavy, and kinda buggy.

My Favorite Possesion
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little marvel was my first step into PC Gaming and its still running incredibly strong 3 years later. Im adding an additional SSD for more storage but this thing has been able to handle anything I throw at it, from 2000+ hours of RDR2, BG3, The Sims, and Mass Effect. It really can handle a lot and is a beautiful piece of equipment too.

Expensive, but awesome
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to return the first one because of a faulty WiFi card, but the second one has been great. It doesn't get the battery life that I've seen in reviews, but it is pretty powerful. I didn't see anything comparing it to desktop parts, but this beats my desktop computer (Ryzen 3600X with RTX 2060 super). The screen is great. I also like the build quality.

Best laptop for beginners
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is good for beginners. I suggest you watch some videos before buying it. Yes, it does get pretty hot but that normal for this small 14 inch laptop. It does get loud depending how much you push the laptop again its normal. It does the get the job done i use it mainly for addibe programs and do a couple of rendering it can handle it but up to some point. If your just learning new programs this is a good starter then eventually upgrade the ram but overall its a begiiner laptop. I can handle any task with ease. Make sure you watch a yiu tube video in what to do with the first time setup like updates etc.

ASUS ROG G14 review from a gamer & employee
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is S Tier. I am one of the Geek Squad Managers @ Best Buy. There's a lot to say about this computer. This is my secondary computer, it was purchased for vacations. I have a custom built gaming desktop and this computer packs a punch! PROS: Screen: BEAUTIFUL! The WQXGA screen is one of the first features I'd rave about. (I have multiple high HZ monitors) and this screen made me want to go with less hz more resolution for gaming... its that pretty of a screen! The screen adjusts while you swap between tasks, you can turn that feature off but I did find it sweet to have on. Performance: I haven't had to adjust any of the settings after downloading the games I play. (Halo Infinite, Resident Evil 4, Diablo 4, League of legends). The settings are set for high as well! the AMD CPU + GPU Combo works fluently together, they compliment each other in performance. The design: It's such a beautiful device, nice 14 Inch screen... Totaltech membership gave me a lot of peace of mind, I value this purchase a lot the design, screen, and internals are something to keep protected. It's a peace of mind for this valuable item. I watched a reviewer on this computer and it passes the CHEETO TEST. Something to think about especially with a white computer. CONS: It's a laptop lol with A LOT of amazing hardware that needs to breathe. I don't seriously have a con for this laptop. This statement goes for any Gaming Laptop you're looking for BATTERY: Battery life is better than most gaming laptops. 3-6 hrs not playing games and having the hardware on SILENT mode. HEAT: When on performance mode for the 120 hz screen + higher FPS, the computer does push out heat. I use a mouse and the heat does push out on the right side. ARMORY CRATE: Make sure you get used to this app. This app does influence you to use the Aura Wallpaper, which is a moving wallpaper that makes the experience fun. But this will absolutely destroy your batttery life and FPS/performance if you are gaming. Plug in power: To the best performance/experience you should keep the computer plugged in. I couldn't get 120 FPS without doing so. Plugging the computer defaulted to performance mode. OVERALL: I love this computer more than my gaming desktop. It is a Best Buy!

||Posted . G14 pretty decent laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ROG Zephyrus G14 is quite the laptop. Asus really has created a lightweight yet strong computing system that can really hold on its own in terms of day-to-day work and gaming. The keyboard's texture is spot on. I especially enjoy the clean look the laptop brings. The screen is especially sensational it is clean bright and smooth with a 120 refresh rate gaming has never looked smoother for me, as this laptop is a huge upgrade from my previous Dell G3. However, if you read the other reviews the laptop does tend to run quite hot. While testing its capabilties in valor match the avg temperature based on the ASUS armory crate runs around 70-80 degrees celsius but as it is a gaming laptop, these things are to be expected. In turns of fan noise for a small yet powerful package they actually run quite well being mostly quiet and if they do turn on you can barely hear it, unless you put you're ear up to it off course. In terms of pricing as a college student, it does feel a bit too pricey for my taste, as after taxes and everything it does set you back around 1,800 USD. But for the amount of tech and design work that was done to produce this laptop, some say it's worth the price (choose at your own discretion). Unfortunately, this model does not come with ASUS's Animatrix which is a huge bummer if you were looking forward to it in the G14. At the end of the day, the G14 is defiantly a lightweight gaming laptop that packs a punch, but that's is up to y'all to decide. To sum it up pros -good keyboard -good screen cons -no Animatrix -does tend to run a bit hot - a bit pricey (but kinda worth it if you're looking for a lightweight rig) ill keep you all updated if I happen to find out anything else.

It was very light and can play games like battlefield 2042 and i even was playing with oculus VR with iracing and f1 22. Solid choice, just be wary of the temperatures
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being my first gaming laptop, it's a solid choice. I'm able to have the benefits of a comfortable keyboard + large trackpad on the go (without having to bring a mouse with me). The 2560 x 1600 resolution is exceptional when viewing pictures and watching videos. I've also been able to get 9+ hours of battery life out of this laptop. As for gaming, it delivers, being able to run modern games efficiently. When gaming, it gets hot around the 89-93 C range, but it's expected with such powerful components in a portable laptop. Overall, I love my purchase and I would highly recommend the 6700S model to anyone looking into a 14" gaming laptop, especially when it's on-sale.

Well executed and perfect for business/personal
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has been exactly what I hoped it would be. Getting $500 off made this a no-brainer. Honestly, I'm not much of a gamer but I am a power user for business and home use. Adobe, video, statistic analysis, some gaming, etc. I am happy to pay for speed and power when I need it. Things that were important to me presale and may help you: - Super fast for daily use. The screen is sweet too. - Netflix with headphones and the screen is just mindblowing. Watch Stranger Things 4 with Bluetooth headphones! - The face detection with Win Hello is surprisingly good. - The USB-C charges the battery well when I'm on the road and need a quick fill-up. Not when actively gaming but day to day, my larger USB-C chargers work great. - The brick is pretty large but charges fast and is needed when gaming. - Keyboard is just great. Key spacing, placement, and travel are all spot on. - The touchpad is even better. Love it but had to turn off the three and four-finger crap to settle down the errant actions. Now it is perfect. - Battery life is all day for typical personal and business use. Very happy with this. - The integration of AMD CPU and GPU is great. Sharing memory is one neat feature but it all works well together - The GPU also supports some offloading nicely, like with Synology Surveillance Station. Offloads well and flies! The integration of AMD CPU and GPU, and resource sharing, looks well executed and I selected this laptop in part due to this. Finally, I have used a combination of Chromebooks and Windows laptops and wanted a single device to rule the world :). My Dell XPS 13 is awful in so many ways. The support, screen ratio, and mousepad all suck on my (2-year old) Dell. The older Google Pixelbook has a great keyboard and mousepad execution IMHO. I loved this little friend for the last three years. The ASUS laptop is larger, but solid, no-flex and reasonably sized 4lb'er. Like a little linebacker--small and robust. Overall it works well for me in evaluating over the last two weeks.
