Honestly this is probably the best value / performance laptop you can buy. Interestingly enough, it's the only piece of Asus hardware I've ever used that actually works with ASUS armory crate. Very long battery life, strong processor/discrete GPU - it does it all. The only thing that you could do better with is maybe one of the Razer laptops (not my cup of tea) or a an M2 Macbook Pro.
Bear in mind, I mostly code and play video games. It might be a bit much for the average user, but for someone like me, it's perfect.

Wow! This is a great laptop especially for a price of just a little over 1000 bucks. The build quality is great and the aesthetics are amazing! Moonlight white looks so good. This is my first small 14 inch laptop and I love how compact it is. It takes up very little space especially since I have 15.6 and 16 inch laptops. Gaming is pretty good, the video game images look great on the 2560 x 1600 screen resolutions. This laptop comes with a powerful CPU the Ryzen 9 6900 HS and a really good GPU the AMD 6700S which is comparable to the 3060. It comes with a 16 gigs of RAM. Unfortunately one of the 8 gigs RAM sticks is soldered and the other is replaceable. So I bought a 32 gig RAM stick and now the total my G14 is pushing 40 gigs of RAM. Battery life is good 6 hours or more. I wish this came with the Anime-Matrix feature. Going to upgrade the 1TB SSD with a 4TB SSD. Popular complaints are this laptop gets hot. It does but so do other gaming laptops. So pick one up on sale at Best Buy $999.99. You won't regret it.

Let me just say I could not be happier with this computer.
The screen is bright, clear and vibrant. I really like the 16:10 and the small bezels. I thought that maybe the size would be to small buy its great. Its small I cant take it with me everywhere. The touch pad is freaking awsome. It's nice and big and the glass just flows. The speaker are ok. They get loud enough for the most part. Nothing like my Macbook though. The backlight on the keyboard could get bright but it works. This thing get very hot while gaming. I have mind on a stand up off the table when i play to help with cooling. I have it connected to my 32 inch monitor and use the laptop monitor as a second screen. It works great. The performance is amazing in such a small package. I have all the setting maxed out and raytracing on for warzone and it plays around 100 fps give or take. I got mine for $1300 and am so very pleased with this purchaser.

This gaming laptop is the perfect sweet spot considering price, performance, and aesthetic. I was skeptical of having a 14 inch screen (coming from always having 16-17 inch for gaming and productivity) but have really enjoyed the portability of a smaller footprint. The 6700s performs really well - I can have mid to high settings on cyberpunk and pull pretty steady 60 fps, and can make great use of the 120hz screen on eSports titles like siege, getting somewhere around 100-120 fps.

I recently bought a 2022 G14. Specs: Ryzen 9 6900HS, RX6700S. There were lots of flaws. I received this device with dead/stuck pixels. The bottom plastic shell on the laptop is brittle plastic. This has been chipping and cracking. I have been taking very good care of this laptop and it still has problems. I also have a fan rattle noise. It comes and goes, Im thinking its a fan bearing issue. I also have power supply problems. If I want power to the laptop, I have to unplug the 120V AC lead and plug it back into the Power Supply once or twice to even get it to work. The Hot exhaust from the fans also blast directly on the screen. I love that Asus gave us a thinner 16:10 aspect ratio display, but the display reliability will probably not be good. I already have white heat exhaust marks on the screen when the screen goes black. I also would like to bring into account that the laptop indeed get way to hot. My CPU temp got to 98 C. At that point if you have this powerful of a processor but can't cool it well enough. Yes It can run that high but it will make the CPU and other compnet life span much shorter. One solution I found for the cooling issue was a cooling pad from IETS. This cooling pad got me down to the mid 70's to low 80's on the higher end Celsius. For a product that has an MSRP of $2000 It should be quality. I went from an HP envy to this. This is my first time with ASUS and I really wanted to like it, but its so hard to now. The fact that the engineers at ASUS might have thought, "Hey the design of the laptop may cause problems down the road, meh just release it anyways the customer can afford to fix the issues on their own dime."

I generally use this laptop for programming. It handles quite well but the only thing I feel is it overheats quite quickly. Battery wise it’s okay. What can we expect from these machines which are built for computational power.

Before buying this laptop I watched a few reviews and read many others. Lots of complaints about how hot the computer gets, but I got it for a $600 discount so I was willing to take a chance.
What a mistake! I didn't even play any "real" games on it. I clocked the temp at the top of the keyboard at 132 degrees, while playing Civilization 6, which is probably one of the least graphically intense games imaginable. Still, this sucker got blistering hot, with CPU temps in the mid to high 80s and GPU temps in the high 70s. All of these temps were measured while the laptop was sitting on a 40 degree thermoelectric cooling stand. I can't imagine what types of temps I'd see without the stand.
I tend to hold on to computers for a really long time, so I'm returning this because there's no way those temps are good for the longevity of the machine. I have a feeling in a few years when these laptops have expired warranties we will start to see a lot of very unhappy customers.

Dear Meiswho,
There's a possibility that there are background apps and Windows updates causing the unit to perform as it does. What we've observed with the Windows 10 operating system is that once the unit is not being used all background and installed apps including Windows updates will fire up. We would recommend that you check for and install updates. This will cause the unit to run a bit hotter than normal and in turn ramp up the fan speed. We would recommend that the user check for and install all updates for all installed applications. Multiple restarts are recommended to ensure all updates are installed. For more information send us an email at [email protected] and provide the link of this review for reference. We’ll do our best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Pros:
1. Perfect size, excellent (but not great) built quality.
2. Great keyboard and trackpad.
3. Very bright display.
4. Very powerful for its size.
5. Not very loud.
6. Gaming while plugged in to USB-C.
7. AMAZING battery life.
Cons:
1. My unit had backlight bleed issue (check the photo).
2. Right hinge creeks while closing.
3. Runs HOT (default fan profiles are terrible).
This is my first Asus laptop. Before this laptop, I've tried:
* Razer Blade 14 (Ryzen 9 5000 series + 3060 100w),
* Lenovo Legion Slim 7 (Ryzen 7 5800H + 3060MQ),
* Lenovo Legion 7i (10th gen i7 + 2070MQ),
* HP Omen (10th gen i7 + 2060).
My goal is to get a compact everyday laptop + to use as my main gaming computer.
I loved almost everything about this laptop. Backlight bleed is not that big of a deal for me. Only reason I returned it: AMD GPU.
I've played Red Dead Redemption 2 on this laptop with Ultra settings and no matter what settings I tried, graphics did not look as good as on Legion Slim 7 with RTX 3060 (100w).
Also, laptop exhaust vent is blocked by the lower portion of the display. A terrible design decision in my opinion.
Plus, default fan profile set by Asus are terrible. But, you can at least customize the fan graph. With default "Turbo" mode, CPU max temps: 96.6'C and GPU: 88'C, which I did not like.
Battery life on the other hand is AMAZING. You will easily get 10+ hours on silent mode and WITHOUT battery saver. Just run Microsoft Edge on efficient mode while unplugged. I would not be surprised if it achieves 15h while unplugged. Also, you will extend battery health by capping battery charge at 60% or 80% in 'My Asus' software.
Display is very sharp, VERY bright. Lowest brightness level is the same as 30% brightness level of my Legion Slim 7's 300nits display.
"Asus Armory Crate" is a great software to check your system, customizing TDP, fac curve etc. Much much better than Lenovo's vantage or Razer synapse or HP's software.
Would I recommend this laptop? Yes. It is a great option for college student because of it's form factor + excellent battery life.
For gamers, who is buying this as their primary gaming machine, I'd tell them to shop for an NVIDIA laptop.

Great laptop when it worked.
Cons:
- Had some odd blue screen issues occasionally every one or two weeks I could never quite figure out after reinstalling windows and installing all the correct drivers a few times according to multiple guides.
- Sometimes wouldn't wake up from sleep.
- Died one year and two months of ownership. Best buy wouldn't do anything about. Neither would Asus. Spent 1600 dollars for a year of use. Attached picture of motherboard after trying to reconnect the battery as a last ditch attempt to reset the motherboard.
Pros:
- Great battery life when using open source alternative to Asus armory crate. Armory crate kinda works too but lacks features.
- Great performance for the power draw.

Love this laptop. Replaced my MacBook as I wanted something cheaper that I could game and code with. It heats up quite a bit compared to the apple silicon chips but I knew that going into it. I recommend setting custom fan curves and voltages as I personally don’t need the highest voltage. This helps with the heat! Love this laptop it’s so clean.

I really like especially being my first gaming laptop and all. Runs smoothly for the games I play. My only upset is that I'm a week in with the laptop and it's already starting to show a yellow tint on the corner of the screen. That's my only issue I have with it and am upset it's started doing that so early.

cool gaming and work laptop, glows very cool in the dark, the only thing that heats up quickly is that it is not on a stand, because all the cooling is from below
