i was skeptical at first but since this was on sale for $1400 i decided why not. man this thing is impressive. can run forza horizon 5 and MW2 at well over 100 FPS at high settings (even a few at ultra). and when its unplugged in power saver mode you can use it as a regular portable laptop with excellent battery life. it gets fairly warm but not too toasty (not sitting on lap when gaming anyways as i use external monitor and controller for gaming).

These other reviews are whack. The screen is great. 120hz is perfect as the GPU maxes out around 100-120 fps at 1920x1200 resolution on newest titles. Yes there will be heat, yes fans are loud. But you’re getting an amazing machine in such a portable form factor. I play on turbo with headphones. Keeps my machine cool and with headphones on I don’t hear fan noise. As I travel for work, this machine works and moves seamlessly for my life. Battery is great also! Love it! The only issues I had was that Bluetooth headphones have a little lag in the sound, bought some wired headphones and poof, problem gone. The issue may even be resolved with future drivers.

Strong battery life for daily use, great performance for gaming. Gets hot to the touch and a little loud, but I suppose that's to be expected of a gaming laptop.

POOOWWWAAAAAhhhh. Kinda The 16gb isn't enough to be perfectly honest. Butt the processor and graphics are awesome when not being throttled by heat. The Little Guy heats up like crazy and heats them up crazy fast. so cooling is a bit of an issue when being portable. And small thing more backlighting zones would be even better.

The laptop has great build quality. The keyboard feel fantastic. The backlighting on a white laptop/keyboard is a bit redundant, but that was a color/personal choice. Great performance. I play most games as hi in the graphics settings as I want. The battery life is fine. Leaves a lot to be desired between this and my MacBook. I game with is plugged in mostly for maximum performance. It will last a good amount of time not plugged in, but gaming unplugged is asking for trouble.

This laptop can have excellent thermals and performance with some tweaking with G-Helper. It allows you to set limits on CPU/GPU wattage which will help with your temperatures and fan noise. Under full load, I am able to less than 80C without sacrificing too much power. I recommend uninstalling all of the bloatware such as Armoury Crate, install G-Helper, install updates, and test around the settings to get the best performance.

First ROG product and I am loving it. Blazing fast crushes Hogwarts legacy, overwatch, diablo 2 resurrected. Wondering if I even keep my desktop around it's so fast. Good battery life and the screen defaults to 60hz/fps on battery so games with a 60 lock work super smoothly. Keyboard feels really really good, touch pad is a touch pad. Love the style on it, would rather have the white than the back display. If your not waiting for next gen this is the laptop.

I purchased this computer approximately 1 month ago and have never been so impressed. The performance for its size is exceptional, the build quality is amazing and the battery life is like no other gaming laptop I have ever seen (9+ hrs). I got an open box model that was also on sale. The device had very minor defects but I could care less. The temperatures are concerning but I trust that Asus engineers won’t let my laptop melt. I would definitely suggest getting a cooling pad. Also a side note that’s not well documented, the usbc ports are 10Gbps and not usb4 like many reviews claim. I asked Asus’ customer support and was provided not only with that information, but also a free digital manual. I would also like to add that the customer support staff was exceptional!

This is my second ASUS ROG. I had a first gen Zeph 14 and due to a broken screen of it falling out of my backpack it was time to get a new one. High speed processor makes doing simple tasks easy and gaming on it is great. Issue I have found with ROG series: the computer is fairly thin and therefore there is a heating issue. Prolonged play will be noisy due to cooling fans and the laptop does overheat. Would still recommend as there are few laptops that will provide the performance for a decent price.

I bought this on clearance for a song. It may not be the fastest 14" gaming laptop, but it's still a potent option, expecially for the price I paid. I don't really care for the white and sparkles on the lid, but that was solved with some vinyl skins. it's a very common laptop, so most places that sell laptop skins will carry ones for this model. Fans do get a little noisy when it's going full throttle, but there really isn't a way around that in a laptop this small. Mine had 16 GB of ram on the board and one empty slot. I added a 16 GB chip, and it bumped up my timespy score about 7%. Some of that might be the memory capacity, but some is probably going from single to dual channel I re-installed the OS from scratch. Everything works, but one device is missing a driver. No idea what it is. If you do re-install from scratch, I'd take an driver inventory first. I am dual booting with Xubuntu, and it runs that pretty well. The wifi is a little sketchy - it seems to drop the connection briefly every now and then for no reason, but it's tolerable enough for me.

super-fast and versatile computer, I have not had any issues playing whatever games I want on it. I also use it for my college coursework, and it has performed like a dream. I would recommend getting a cooling mat if you plan to use it for any really high draw activities. but that is the case with most laptops.

Solid little laptop, very powerful for what it is. Never had any issues with it other than it gets very hot and can be a little loud at times. If those things don’t bother you and you don’t got the money for a 32gb ram version. Go with this one, it won’t get you high graphics on most games without lag but normal graphics work best with high frames. Good luck

Overall the laptop has been great in terms of gaming and doing work. I’ve been able to go to the library and do work for hours without any discomfort. With gaming it runs basically all triple A games at 1440p relatively easily. I highly recommend this laptop for those looking for a good combination of high gaming performance without wanting to sacrifice the convenience of portability.

Solid gaming laptop that is very portable but needs some tweaks to keep temperatures down. These fixes can be found on the internet, but out of the box the default settings can result in an uncomfortable experience

The G14 is pretty good for gaming. It was my top pick on a very short list for two reasons. 1. I needed something portable and the 14" G14 is one of the few gaming laptops that meets that requirement. The modern crop of 15" and 16" gaming laptops are huge. Be sure to see them in person before buying one. 2. I needed a high quality screen that was bright enough for daytime use in brightly lit rooms. The G14 screen is excellent, bright, and has a fantastic viewing angle. The screen itself is Mac-like in its quality and brightness. I prefer the AMD processor because the Intel processors are so power hungry that you have to have them plugged in and there are times that I have to run on battery power. This 6900HS does everything I need for gaming. The 6800S graphics chipset is significantly better than the 6700S. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I had the 6700S G14 and returned it because the 6800S consistently got 20% more FPS. The different between 34FPS and 27FPS is VERY noticeable in games like Total War Warhammer III (Ultra settings). I really like the USB-C charging. I picked up a 100w USB-C charger and it allows me to game at full power for a long time. The USB-C charger is also compact and easy to transport, which the OEM charger is NOT. Heat dissipation is pretty good. I do get some intense heat out the right side of the laptop onto my mouse hand, but it isn't terrible. I've never noticed much heat from the keys or anywhere else for that matter but I do live in a cooler climate. I've never experienced any heat throttling, so that's a big plus. I really like the fact that I can upgrade the SSD, RAM, and even WIFI card. There are a lot of people recommending WIFI card upgrades due to problems with dropping connections but I don't think that is the card. The system comes configured for 802.11ax. If you have an 802.11ac router, then this will cause problems. Once I changed the settings, all problems went away. Cons: The 6800S is a power hog. When playing demanding games the 100W charger (the max power suported via USB-C) is not enough to keep the laptop charged. You will drain your battery, but it will take a while. This generation of AMD graphics aren't as good as Nvidia. That's just a fact born out by countless tests online. However the 6800S is good and for my purposes, good enough, though I would have preferred a 3070 or 3070Ti. The keyboard lighting is awful. It's simply not bright enough to see in bright light and is overpowered by the brightness of the screen in low light. It could be that the white keyboard makes it harder to see and changing the color seems to help with contrast, but darker colors aren't brighter. Sitting in a restaurant with a lot of natural light, I can't tell if they are on at all, though the system says they are at full brightness. They might as well not light up at all. Battery life is not great, but it is a gaming laptop so it never will be. You really want to be plugged in as much as possible. Final Thoughts: Overall I am happy with the laptop. It's portable, looks good, and has a fantastic display. Heat dissipation is very good and it has nice features. My games perform well on the highest settings, though sometimes I drop to 1980X1200 to get the best performance. I'd rather have effects over resolution. The poor keyboard lighting is disappointing, but isn't a deal killer for me. I got it on sale for $1200. Had I paid full price I would be laughing as cursing ASUS as I returned it, but that was never going to happen.

The all AMD version of this laptop is the perfect laptop. Crazy good performance with incredible battery life, it shocks me how good it is. Better than anything else out there currently, especially at the price (2022 version). This beats the M1 and M2 macs as well. Buy it.
