Customers often highlight the excellent performance, impressive build quality, and long battery life of the ROG Zephyrus 15.6" QHD Gaming Laptop. Many also praise its powerful GPU, lightweight design, and vibrant display, along with the keyboard. However, some users mention that the laptop can get hot, and the fan noise can be noticeable. Other criticisms include the soldered RAM, less-than-stellar speakers, and the absence of a built-in webcam.

Phenomenal editing laptop

Absolute beast, couldn't be happier. I solely use it for video editing on DaVinci Resolve Studio. And still never go over 40 percent of it's ram. Make sure to install the Nvidia studio drivers on their website, will make it run like butter. Even though the monitor is only 1080p, I often will edit 4K videos and it comes out incredible. I'd recommend buying a cooling pad, just to help it whilst it's chugging. Also recommend a USB tree to make more plugins available as there's two USB and one type c connector. Only thing that I've noticed is the battery lasts about 4 hours while editing and 4K. But just plug it in and you're good, after plugging it in, it will automatically go into turbo mode to keep it cool

It's amazing! Great job by Best buy and UPS delivered 3 days early!
The laptop itself is just awesome. I needed a device to use with my triple monitor setup, so I could game on one and keep an eye on my other projects.
This thing flies through everything! I was a little worried about buying a Ryzen device because of no Thunderbolt, but my dock works with the USB C port on the device so it's all good.
It is simply perfect for my use.

Be careful buying open box because even though my laptop was geek squad certified it has a big bump under the screen. Performance and everything? Amazing. Quality control? Not so much.

Great gaming laptop except for the fact a key broke off only 5 months later. Luckily I had purchased an extended warranty through Best Buy. However, instead of being able to replace the plastic piece under the key which would take maybe 5 minutes the Geek Squad had to send it out to have the entire keyboard replaced. Estimated turn around 3 weeks! We are currently waiting for it to be returned. Otherwise this laptop is awesome!

This laptop has major QC issues and asus knows it. As MANY people have stated and I confirmed by testing out 3 different computers out of the box at best buy this display is super cheap. i did not find a single model without IPS bleed, nor did I find a single model without dead pixels. My first model had the worst bleed, but had a few dead pixels in the corner I could live with that. Second return in store had a dead pixel dead center but very little bleed. Openeed another box and finally got one with decent IPS bleed and only a corner dead pixel.
To make matters worse this thing runs insanely hot. I am utilizing 20% of the CPU or less playing old games and getting tempereatures in the 90s celsius. This is with the computer elevated with lots of space under the fans and with performance mode on. THis is obscene, and will likely fry the cpu over time. They probably cheaped out on the liquid metal as they did with the screens. Recently bought a razer 1080p with zero dead pixels and zero IPS bleed. Don't let Asus tell you that's normal, don't let asus let you believe this is an isolated incident. They hastily assembled with poorly trained staff these laptops. They are very well aware of this and are lying to everyone who'se review they responded to otherwise. I would not buy one, and If i was not outside my best buy return window I would be bringing it back. I will contact asus suport to see if I cna RMA it. It's sad Asus thinks americans who shop at best buy can just eat their crap like this. Apparently they made the non "best buy confuguration models" better. Typical big business in the USA

Dear Otterboxscam,
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if the laptop didn't meet your expectations.
All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, the light bleeding is a random problem. It is normal for the laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.
If you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Runs Warzone and vanguard without any hiccups. I have it connected to an external monitor so I am able to multi task. I like to have discord open while I game and it could probably run even more if you wanted.

Great laptop, Great price, and Low Gaming Temps

For the price this was a great purchase for me. I ended up finding it as an open box item at the Clearwater Florida store in Excellent condition for 1,100. It was also the back-to-school tax free weekend. Mine came with Windows 10 on it, but I upgraded it for free to Windows 11, installed all the updates, Drivers, and so far, it's been an awesome laptop. The laptop doesn't get that hot even while gaming, but the power brick does get extremely hot.
The idle GPU temps are 35 to 37 and while gaming it is 58 to 62. The idle CPU temps are 44 -48 and while gaming 55 to 65. Overall, these are great temps for such a compact gaming laptop.
I can run pretty much every game out there at max settings such as BF 2042, COD Vanguard, Assassins Creed Valhalla, Elder Scrolls Online, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The laptop was purchased as a gift for my Fiance since I have gaming desktop already and a Series X console.

I've only had this a short time, but I can already say with confidence that this laptop is fantastic. Asus nailed the design, apart from the keyboard font. The keyboard feels fantastic to type on and honestly one of my favorites I have typed on (apart from ThinkPads). Once powered on, you hardly hear the fans, if at all. Battery seems to last quite a while once you turn on the iGPU Auto switch. Performance has been great, even gaming at 1440P.
There have been a number of people complaining about minor issues, so don't let that distract you from an overall amazing machine. I haven't come across any creaking or thermal issues on my unit. Extremely minimal backlight bleed.
Can't wait to have this long term - near perfect laptop. Asus - you may have a laptop of the year contender.

The G15 was the first time I was using an AMD CPU, and I am very happy with the experience. The display is good( could be brighter), the built quality is also good( although aluminium body might have had a been more premium feeling), but the best part is the keyboard. Extremely tactile keys with good of amount of key travel. This is similar to the lenovo thinkpad series keyboards. I use this laptop with
an Asus TUF gaming monitor. Overalll very happy with the laptop.

This Laptop is a beast. Yes - there are higher GPU's out there with higher Wattage going to them, but for what paying - this is an outstanding value. Sure - I would like a 3080 - but im not willing to shell out another 700 bucks to make that happen. For the money - this thing is fantastic. My only gripe is again Asus does not allow us to upgrade the RAM without losing duel channel support. I wont go into full specs of this beast - but my overall impressions are GREAT!
I ran a Geekbench 5 score that I will share. This thing blew away my current desktop PC with a 2080 in it. Mainly in CPU performance. I hope these Benchmarks show you how powerful this thing is.

Nice desktop replacement, I use a USB-C to DVI converter to connect to an ultra-wide monitor.
This causes the laptop to overheat and restart, so I have to open the Armoury Crate app to disable overclocking and enable the fan.
More ports would be nice.

The laptop is great in all departments except quality control. I am experiencing screen bleeding issues after using it for a couple of weeks. I hope this screen bleeding does not augment any further. I want to try for an exchange, but this laptop is out of stock at the moment.

Great laptop, ran everything I had perfectly. However after a week, the screen started having issues. It started with a freeze and then fade to black, a flickering screen to a blue screen and then finally the screen wouldn't turn on. I returned the laptop and got a refund.
Its a shame, because I feel ASUS really got it right with this laptop. I am going to order again and hopefully the laptop I got was a dud.
