Customers are saying

Customers value the ROG Zephyrus 15.6" QHD Gaming Laptop's performance, build quality, and graphics capabilities, frequently praising its excellent gaming performance and portability. However, some users express concerns regarding the device's tendency to overheat and generate noticeable fan noise, while others find the speakers and lack of a built-in webcam to be shortcomings. Positive feedback also highlights the laptop's impressive refresh rate and comfortable keyboard. The lightweight design is another frequently cited advantage.

This is a decent laptop, but I probably won't buy another Asus laptop again. The performance for the money is great. I do wish it had more RAM which is a pretty easy fix. Battery life is good enough. Display looks great. Now the bad. Had this for a little over a year now. I've had WIFI and Bluetooth adapter problem's which I was only able to resolve by restarting the computer. Even reinstalled the drivers and it still randomly happens every now and then. The screen will sometimes go black and nothing you do will get it to come on. Forcing you to hard shut down the computer and turning it back on to get display output again. This happens at least once a week. Maybe it's a windows bug, but coming from a Dell XPS I never experienced this problem. The display itself also seems fragile. Lots of flex and now sometimes when closing the display from one side causes artifacting like a cable is loose. Also have a dead pixel right in the middle of the display. Of course two months after the warranty expired.

Great little laptop. Runs about anything with a external monitor. It's loud and gets hot but with a fan stand it's manageable.

There are many good things about this laptop. It does however come with a few problems. -The fans make an irritating (LOUD) screech and whine during even a minor activity. -Under load it can and will overheat to 70-90+ c. Buy a cooler or be prepared to replace this laptop before long. + On the plus side it can run anything I've tried in 4k and at 60< fps. + The standard 1440p display is sharp and the colors vibrant. Other notes A few people complained about the speed of the included wifi card being an issue. I am getting 90+ Mbs with the default card. Mine came with the wrong audio drivers installed. I suggest giving it all a once-over before feeling its good to go.

The screen is the best for laptops. Great color and brightness. I would have liked a little more power from the GPU for gaming but it’s the best for its price.

Wifi card died 2nd day. It stopped connecting to the wifi. But it worked with eathernet cable. So I had to return it. But It's a really nice laptop. The build quality is excellent. The specs are wonderful. You can't get anything close to this with this price range. The only thing I didn't like is that it doesn't has a web cam, which is kinda weird. But over all it's a very decent laptop for someone looking for a powerful laptop for heavy work or even gaming.

Overall I would say the laptop is pretty good. One of the major issues that I had with the laptop was that the fans tend to kick in randomly when nothing was going on and then continue on forever until the laptop had to be restarted. This bug is rare and happens randomly. For now only restarting the laptop fixes it. Other than that issue the laptop is solid. Unfortunately the RTX 3080 is not the highest wattage model so there is some performance left to be desired but for the price of $2K I'm not complaining about it. CPU is an absolute beast of it's own class. No slouch at all, I've also upgraded the RAM to 24GB to handle multitasking with ease. Upgrading the laptop was easy and simple. There is also an additional M.2 Slot for adding an extra NVMe SSD. One extra point I would like to note is to never re-install windows by yourself as these laptops come configured by ASUS with special tuning software for the CPU and GPU. Due to me doing a fresh install some of them were lost and I couldn't get them back to how it was. It wasn't a huge deal for me but for many it might be. If you ever want to do a fresh start simply use the ASUS Recovery method and do a fresh start from there

The graphics and power of this laptop for gaming is really unmatched. Its very powerful. the computer gets so hot though! I can see why reviews in here have said not to use the keyboard while you get that GPU going to play a game because you will burn your fingers for sure.

Great build for a laptop and really portable. I had no issues with quality but RTX 3080 in this laptop seriously unpowered and handicapped by its low wattage. Some laptops with a higher wattage GPU will out perform this one. Otherwise a good laptop that can run all AAA games but don’t look here if you want RTX 3080 power.

This is one of the best computers I have used in a long time, you'll be able to achieve over 10 hours of battery easily once you fine-tune the settings, it can easily outperform some modern desktops., and the screen is a crisp 1400p and a fast 165hz refresh rate.

If you are a poweruser looking for a perfect balance between functional & performance this is it. It beats the Razer & MSI models in that as it is both upgradeable & easily modded.

It's not as fast as my 3090 desktop or even a stock 3070, but this is a portable laptop with a smallish power brick, that does an outstanding job of productivity with a design resembling a 15 inch Macbook Pro. It runs VR titles at their max settings on a Quest 2 with a Link Cable or Air Link with a generous amount of Supersampling. MSFS 2020 even runs remarkably well, flat or in VR with a few settings tweaks. Any game you run on the laptop screen will run at a decent frame rate with a good amount of eye candy. If you connect to an external GSync or Freesync monitor it will be even better.

Broke within 4 months. Had a fried out screen but everything else worked. When you spend over $2100 on a laptop you expect it to work. At least manufactured warranty covers it for the time period. Solid laptop, wish it didn’t run so hot.

This laptop really is incredible. I have an Asus g14 with gtx1650 and 1080p60hz screen. It's a budget/light gaming laptop. However, this laptop is a gaming beast! My brother bought this one and it's everything a gamer wants. The screen is insane, the graphic card has the frame rate maxed out on every game we played. Fans aren't that loud. The Ryzen CPU is screaming fast. The screen size and chassis size really are in the sweetspot for portability and functionality. Ryzen and rtx 3080 aren't power sippers so don't expect that with a gaming laptop.

Goods: 1) Looks nice and minimalistic for a gaming unit. 2) Nice selection of I/O. 3) Good cooling, and OC is very easy to do for performance needs. Bads: 1) Fan runs at 6800-7100 RPM in silent mode. (Armory Crate, BIOS, and drivers are updated.. I even reset the computer thinking it was Windows and other bloatware causing this. CPU/GPU temps are under 45 C when fans ramp up to max speed for no apparent reason. A hard restart or hibernate helps out with this issue for few hours and the issue resurfaces.) (Also, when fan ramps up to max by itself, the performance DRASTICALLY decreases... it has trouble loading chrome pages when this happens, CPU issue maybe?) 2) Above issue seems common on Zephyrus series as I browsed through internet looking for solution, I found people complaining about same issue ~1-2 years ago, but there has been no real solution provided by Asus yet. (as far as I know). I believe it is a software bug, but I can't say for sure. Considering returning it if I can't fix this within the 15 day window BestBuy provides.

      Dear SadFace,

      Thank you for your comment.

We do understand your concern about the fan noise. It is normal just like any other brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the laptop is under heavy load like gaming, especially during the initial WINDOWS setup and WINDOWS Update installation. Also, the fan noise will be louder while antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. Please ensure the system was not compromised by viruses or malware by doing a full system scan using an internet security software or application. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down. If Windows, drivers, BIOS are up to date and no third-party application is not casusing high resource utilization, this may be a random hardware issue. We recommend sending the laptop in for service in order to determine the root cause so this can be resolved.

Overall a good gaming laptop, it's been 2 years now, useful for popular videogames, only problem is sometimes screen goes black (all keeps running) seems to be a driver related problem (not a major issue so far)
