Customers are saying

Customers commend the ROG Zephyrus G14's impressive performance, vibrant screen, and surprisingly long battery life, making it ideal for both work and play. Its compact size and light weight contribute to excellent portability. However, some users note that the device can become quite warm and the fans noisy during demanding tasks.

    Impressed G14 - Size & Power

I am impressed with this laptop. It does not run super hot, it's smaller, you can upgrade one of the ram stick with a 32gb (mine is at 48gb), upgraded the 1TB to a 4TB NVME drive, and has a great Bluetooth module (this matters using Nintendo controller switches). I am abit biased against AMD for graphics, so the 4070 fits the bill. This computer does not lockup, ghelper is better to use over asus controlling software, and the screen is very clear. I tested the 6700s, 4070 16 zephrus, 4070 acrynmn, 4060 gs14, and this 4070 perfectly fits the bill. Timespy scores sit around 11500 total. It may not be the best upgrade for some, but runs very very efficient. This computer also makes sense as an extension if you already have a powerful desktop. Part of the problem is you have people talk down the 4070, but people forget it's a 14 inch laptop. Not an 8 pound, 18 inch laptop. I would buy it again if I had to.

This is a killer gaming PC! Hasn't had an issue running anything I've thrown at it so far. Beautiful, super fast, super convenient. Everything feels premium and the keyboard, trackpad and screen are second to none even though these 2023 models are OLED it is just as nice minus the OLED blacks which most people wont notice. I would love to give this 5 stars but there have been some issues with it. It seems sometimes these have issues with powering on. Mine has and so have others on Reddit. ASUS seems to not really address it. They seem to tell everyone to send it in. Who wants to send in a brand new Laptop? Not me. I will if I have to but hoping not. There's so much to love about this laptop but ASUS QC and support makes it hard to feel like you really made the right decision. There's a ton of updates and quite a learning curve if this is your first gaming laptop. The ASUS software is useful and frustrating at the same time. My ASUS is great for keeping track of warranty status and updates but you will have to use multiple softwares for updates. MY ASUS, Armoury Crate and Windows. Its a bit much but you get used to it. I got this on sale and am willing to figure out what I'm not happy with to certain point but ASUS may have to get involved. Just know its not a simple buy and off to the races you go. Tons of updates and software management as well as hardware. The AMD Processor with integrated GPU is nice as it allows for much to be done without the power consumption of the dedicated GPU which is Nvidia. The processor is powerful enough to handle most things and the RTX 4070 has let me run every game on Ultra on my Alienware 34 inch OLED monitor on Ultra settings. The optimus software used to switch between the (AMD) processor and integrated GPU and the Nvidia RTX dedicated GPU works pretty well fingers crossed. Just know what your are getting yourself into for roughly $2000 unless you get it on sale like I did. I'm an engineer by trade love to figure things out but if you're looking for a simple gaming laptop Alienware may be a better choice for you. I do love it and wish I could give it 5 stars but 4 stars due to the issue I am seeing. I will update if if it gets worse.

    Best 14 inch Gaming Laptop

This is a great laptop if you already have a gaming pc. Would not want this to be my main gaming setup. Pros: When in Eco mode, battery life is great, gets well over 10 hours surfing the internet and doing less intensive tasks. Internals are upgradeable unlike other laptops its size. Screen is bright and colorful. Plays games smoothly when plugged in but would recommend lowering the resolution to 1080p. Build quality is excelent and in my opinion this is the best 14 inch gaming laptop Cons: Laptop gets very very hot when playing games, it can not go on your lap. Limited port selection as well as strange locations for the ports. Key backlights are garbage. Not going to put that playing games with GPU drains the battery as con, there is no gaming laptop that can game a long time on battery its not a thing that is possible right now. Overall great laptop no matter what GPU you pick, but I wouldnt bother with the 4090 option.

I’m an engineering student who used to haul around an 18” gaming laptop for school. After 2 years of that, the ASUS G14 is a huge upgrade. Sure the screen is smaller but it’s so much lighter and runs way better. I have found I can run cad simulations faster with this laptop over my slightly older laptop. Gaming is great too, I haven’t encountered a game yet where I can’t run at max graphics with 60+ fps. I did add an additional ram in the ASUS G14 with a Corsair 16gb chip and it works.

I used to have a Dell Alienware 11th gen intel, nvidia 3080 desktop pc. I felt I was overpaying and I will need to move soon. I realized a laptop suited my needs best, especially because I do not need to play the latest games at max settings. This laptop is the most compact device you can get that does not look too extravagant and packs solid performance. No complaints from my side. I did upgrade the SSD to a samsung 2tb drive and also upgraded the ram to 32GB, everything felt much smoother like that. You can output HDMI at 4k 120hz in Windows and also DP from either of 2 USB c ports (left uses Igfx by default and right uses Nvidia gfx by default). DP can run at 144hz. Make sure you get good wires. Lastly, sometimes these machines do not want to boot up and you only see the keyboard lights flashing. Just hold the power button on for 60 seconds to clear up any charge confusion.

I am currently reallllllyyyyyyy enjoying the ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS G14. It handles both heavy work loads and long playtimes like a dream. It came quickly and beautifully packaged. I actually love the trackpad for both overall feel and accuracy of latency Whenever I play BG3 of course the fans will kick on to regulate the temperature but they are quieter than i expected and i can still hear all the audio over the speakers. When it gets warm its not unbearable but whats even better is how quick it cools down. I think its a great laptop.

Performs similar to a desktop with similar specs. Smaller and lighter than many other gaming rigs, but still as powerful. Runs a little hot, so pickup a cooling pad if you are going to hammer on it for extended periods.

This laptop has met every expectation ive had and easily money well spent. Its able to run any game ive put it through on maximum settings. Something else i love about this laptop is the micro sd port that i honesty didn't even realize it had until i got it. With that i put in a 1TB micro sd and made this a 2TB laptop. The only things i will say is the battery life isn't necessarily impressive but i tend to always be plugged in anyways and the fans tend to get loud pretty quickly but these dont bother me personally. 10/10 laptop

Awesome laptop. Screen, trackpad, and keyboard are all quite good in a (relatively) small and light package. Having the ability to charge over the barrel OR USB-C ports is super convenient. Asus has also pushed multiple bios updates which I hadn't expected as most laptops don't get any. Battery life isn't MacBook level, but it's still good enough for a thin and light laptop with a 4070.

Once I first it, it was really good! The performance was better than my gaming pc and the battery life was wonderful, lasting a full day of classes with charge left to spare. However, the build quality had some flaws. The corners of the bottom plate opposite of the screen side have cracked open, almost as if the screws were on too tight. Also, the right fan began rubbing against the body and now makes an unpleasant noise and vibration.

Beautiful gaming laptop under the lights at first but is now chipping away at the front near the small holes. I use it for word documents mostly. It gets very hot and after about 5-8 hrs will tell me its had enough. Gets overheated quickly when using VR headset. Buying a cooling fan is a must! Would also recommend a case for protection or screen cover. Had some issues with manufacturing errors the first buy around. Gave it another chance. Slight elevation of the bottom half feels comfortable on wrists than flat laptops (think apple). Pretty lightweight. Has a good amount of storage. It uses microsoft to set up. Battery life depends on use, for me i can go 8 hrs without charge.

Mostly decent Gaming PC with lousy Wi-Fi

I'm *mostly* pleased with this purchase. It runs all the games I've thrown at it with no issues that seemed to be the PC's fault. The screen is nice, but nothing to write home about. I pretty much had to upgrade the RAM to 32 GBs as the system is always running 13-14 GB of RAM and it was *only* a $50 purchase to upgrade. It was as easy as others have said to upgrade, I'll add. The typing is fine, though I predominantly use a separate mechanical keyboard, so it's probably fine. I'm really used to the MacBook experience, so the keys don't have the same travel and whatnot, so it's not as nice to me, but it is likely just me. Though, I really do like the RGB on the keyboard, though a darker color is better otherwise you can't see the keys. As I got a white PC, the colors don't stand out as well as on black keys, like on a Mac. The biggest annoyance is the Wi-Fi card. If the computer goes into sleep mode, you might as well just reboot the computer, as the Wi-Fi dies and just doesn't work no matter what you do. Rebooting seems to fix the problem, but after 3-5 times of rebooting in a day, I'm pretty much at the point of just not putting the dumb thing to sleep. I also keep reading mixed reviews on the suggested wifi card that can be used to swap out what comes with the PC. Some say it works like a dream, others say it doesn't. I don't know. It's not my daily driver so it's not the biggest deal to reboot a billions times a day, since I'm really only using it for gaming. This next point is probably simply because I'm a Mac user predominantly and I don't know how to really fine tune Windows 11 to get this point to work better, but the battery life is atrocious. All the various apps to manage every part of the PC can be overwhelming at times; I'm still figuring this one out. I had hoped to replace my M1 MacBook Air for work, but so far no dice. I've also noticed that the right side (when looking at it) USB C port doesn't work with a separate DAC (digital analog converter) I use for headphones. It just doesn't power the device whatsoever, which is a drag and it also seems to be fussy when I use a Pluggable USB C HUB. It's a juggling game of where to place each USB A device so each device works. All in all, this is a pretty solid purchase, though much of it is lost on me graphics card wise (as I mostly play old games, but being able to play something like Helldiver 2 with no graphical problems, though the game is buggy, is nice), I just knew I'd regret it if I got a lesser computer. Of course, your mileage may vary, but just understand that the computer gets hot (don't use it in your lap when gaming or you'll get scorched), the battery life isn't great (it is a gaming computer, after all), the Wi-Fi is garbage and the thing that knocks the overall rating down a star, and if you get the white one, you're limited on the colors you can use on the keyboard to make sure you can see the keys.

Love this laptop and I just got this, ~ 1 hour ago and already quality issues with it. If I place my hand on the right palm rest to type, the laptop emits a brrrrr sound as if my hand is pressing causing friction with the fan. If only I didn't have to go through the hassle of returning it/exchanging it again because they are not available.
