Customers are saying

Customers commend the ROG Zephyrus G14's impressive performance, vibrant screen, and surprisingly long battery life, making it ideal for both work and play. Its compact size and light weight contribute to excellent portability. However, some users note that the device can become quite warm and the fans noisy during demanding tasks.

    Great and cost-effective upgrade!

I upgraded from an MMSI G64 Stealth -- the battery was beginning to expand after 5+ years and it needed to be retired. This was my choice and I'm so glad! Amazing, solid, and light-weight laptop. It's incredible being able to carry around a laptop and still be able to game on it. My MSI did not last 10 minutes off charge, but this thing can go for at least 6 hours on Power Saving mode. I wish i had it back in school. Playing games or doing resource-intensive work is a breeze. The specs are solid. I was afraid the 4070 wouldn't be a significant improvement over the 4060 model, but the 4080 was hard to find and the 4090 too expensive for me. The 4070 does fabulously. I don't play intense games, but heavy multi-tasking while gaming runs flawlessly. The laptop barely heats up too. The lid's rainbow effect is gorgeous as well. It's not as pretty as a Razer, but i'm glad I have this device. I have upgraded the SSD to a 4TB, and added another RAM slot so I have 32GB total. Those upgrades went smoothly -- a simple precision screwdriver set was all I needed. for my first upgrade ever, not bad at all :) Overall I love this laptop, and I can't wait to use it for 5 years like I have all my previous ones. Solid budget choice especially if you're upgrading from a very old device.

All day battery. It’s good that nVidia is back in the G14 because it’s way better than the Radeon RX6800s/6700s. If you have a 2022 model, skip the 2023 unless you plan on getting the 4080 or the 4090 w/OLED. Also, not much of a performance difference between the 4070 or 4060, so save some money and get the 4060 and avoid the 4050 unless you don’t game. For a big difference, get the 4080 or the 4090 if you can afford it. I returned this 4070 model to get the 4080 model because I wanted power. And if I didn’t want the performance bump, I still would’ve returned this for a 4060 when it regularly goes on sale for $999. The price to performance makes the 4070 model an odd duck.

14" Gaming best "bang for the buck"

Egads - just what I needed - yet another laptop! LOL! No seriously, I had purchased a number of generations ago and was looking for something current for 2023. I like the 13-14" form factor and after researching a bunch of reviews I decided to give this Asus a try since it 'clicked' all my requirements boxes: QHD non-touch screen, AMD R9 and at least RTX4060 (with at least 8GB) and 512GB storage. While I was looking at the above configuration I see that Bestbuy had one with a 4070 & 1TB storage for the SAME PRICE. I jumped on it. Once delivered it was the same-old-nonsense with MS machines, get control of the box, delete all the bloatware and then start installing the applications that *I* want. Thankfully there was little to no software (other than MS bloatware) so I got to installing Firefox, OpenOffice and Steam (and some games) fairly quickly. Sadly, Nvidia's 'GEForce Experience' still requires you to have a 'account' to make use of the automatic driver updates, there is a AMD app (for the iGPU) that likely needs a account as well as Asus comes to the party with their own 'account' silly ness.

Fantastic Portable Productivity/Gaming with 1 flaw

Trying to use this as a productivity device that also games--and it almost works fantastic! Just one fatal flaw: the touchpad is hyper sensitive and a little finicky. So, it really hinders productivity. Other than that, this is an excellent compact system--it's impressive how much power they're cramming into laptops these days. While certainly not an ultraportable, the compactness rivals 'regular' laptops. Great keyboard (which made the touchpad all the more disappointing)--really good for typing on. Very nice anti-glare screen. Though I will say the 2560x1600 is a little overkill for a 14". The extra crispness was noticeable (just barely) but not really worth the hit to battery and performance.

I love this laptop, and use it daily for university work, gaming, entertainment, etc. I had a heating issue with the laptop originally, but that was due to a faulty liquid metal application and the Best Buy will cover an exchange. It’s small, relatively thin, and looks really sleek. It also charges by USBC which is super convenient when I need to charge with a small charger while on the go, but I never really even need to charge it because when browsing the web and watching videos/working since the battery lasts about 7-9 hours depending on your brightness. Definitely one of the better looking “gaming laptops” as well.

AMD with RTX you get both worlds of Battery Life and Gaming Power, of course this model does not beat the previous year G14, but more than makes it up with the new GPU power and efficiency. I get there of 6-8 hours of battery normal use, though i know you can increase that with changes in the settings, i just like to keep it simple “middle” way to not be changing things whenever i game or not. Love it, great option, price is lower than i expected originally because of nigreedia. Lets see what competition offers at same size factor, so far this one wins it

Amazing Laptop. Faced no problems at all since I have received it. The screen res is amazing and so far, haven't faced any issues with the software unlike some of the official reviews. I use for like browsing, watching movies, doing a couple of data science projects here and there, Dota 2(0 lag whatsoever) and RDR2. Don't overthink it, there are many choices on the market, but I haven't thought about it since it landed at my doorstep.
