This laptop is absolutely amazing! It has very very good performance for a steal. The 4070 chugs along with the 12700h which makes a really good combo. The only real problem with this laptop is the battery life is a bit sub-par. This is due to the intel chips drinking much more power. I personally don't mind this issue considering you get 99% of a really good laptop. So there's no point in looking for the other 1%. Nice Job Asus!

This is a really great computer for the price paid ($1k). The laptop RTX 4070 is roughly equivalent to a desktop RTX 3060ti at half the power usage and with the addition of DLSS frame generation. I updated from a RTX 3060 laptop and it feels like a pretty big upgrade while using less power. The screen has pretty good colors but doesn't get super bright (300-ish nits). To get the best battery life, I had to fiddle with the included Armoury Crate software, turn off the discrete GPU and a few other tweaks.

If you're looking for a system to play everything at max settings and 200FPS then this system isn't for you. However, I love this system for my needs. Please read below. Pros: I'm impressed with the quality and capability of this laptop. The processor, video card and screen combo are paired nicely. I can play many games at medium to max quality using the onboard 1080 monitor. When at my desk I hook it up to my 1440 gaming monitor. It performs well at that resolution with a few changes to settings. I'll get 90-140 FPS in MW3 using medium-low settings. For FPS type shooter games I turn quality settings to low to keep the FPS consistent. Cons: 16GB memory and 8GB graphics do have limitations. I noticed hitching while playing with graphics turned up high in some games. GPU memory was nearly used completely which most likely caused the hitching. I also noticed system memory was always at 85-95% used. Recommended Upgrades: this isn't required but I recommend picking up a kit of DDR4 32GB or 64GB Memory (your choice on speed/size/cost. Do your research. I put in 64GB as I use this for running VM's). Asus says max supported or 32GB. The system can use more, they say max supported as that is what they tested and qualified with.

It's great to hear that you're satisfied with your ASUS TUF 15.6" Gaming Laptop. Based on your experience, here's a positive feedback summary in paragraph format: I recently purchased the ASUS TUF 15.6" Gaming Laptop, equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB Memory, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, and a 1TB SSD, in Mecha Grey, and I must say, it has been a perfect choice. The Intel Core i7 processor offers robust performance, handling demanding applications and multitasking with ease. The 16GB of memory is more than adequate for gaming and productivity tasks, ensuring smooth operation. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card is a standout feature, delivering exceptional visual performance and making this laptop ideal for the latest high-definition games. The 1TB SSD provides ample storage space while ensuring fast boot and load times, which is crucial for gaming and professional use. Additionally, the Mecha Grey design gives it a sleek and stylish look, complementing its powerful internals. Overall, this ASUS TUF gaming laptop has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, design, and reliability, making it an excellent choice for both gaming enthusiasts and professionals.

    Best bang for buck

This laptop is a great balance of performance and features for the cheap price tier. It has no compromises on any of the nice to have features/specs for me. Pros: 1) It is very compact and light weight for a 15.6" gaming laptop. There are a few models that weigh slightly less, but they are much more expensive 2) The power brick is also quite compact 3) It has lots of ports, including thunderbolt and usb-c charging 4) MUX switch! 5) Large battery and good battery life. 6) Pretty nice keyboard and good trackpad, especially for this price tier. 7) Fans are not overly noisy. Silent mode keeps the fans off most of the time while just web browsing, although they will burst on every so often. 8) Good clean, compact design without much of a gamer look. 9) Intel 12700H seems like a great value choice. Speed about same as the AMD 7940HS chips, and has decent power usage for intel. Great pick for high value for a lower cost. And the 13th gen intel seem to use more power without much benefit for gaming. 10) Max power for Nvidia 4070 (not that any of them use more than around 100W) Cons: 1) Screen is decent but not excellent. Plenty good enough for this price tier, though. 2) ASUS bloatware. The laptop has around 20 ASUS software services running in background. I hate all this garbage that they install, but in order to control the performance modes (slient, performance, turbo, etc) you need armoury crate and lots of its services. I've spent many hours trying to find any better deal than this laptop and really nothing comes very close. ASUS A15 line with AMD looks good too (it is identical to this F15 in every way except AMD instead of intel CPU), but currently nothing available with a 4070.

I have owned over a dozen laptops in my life and this is by far the best in almost every way. Gaming performance is surprisngly good and plays evey single game I have. Stays nice and quit and cool even with the lid down as usually play with an external monitor. I cannot understate how nice it is to have super quiet laptop. Battery life is good and it's an overall good size and wight for travelling. It even runs/charges on USB C so you don't have to lug the giant Power Supply brick around. A dedicated numpad and customizable backlit keys are icing the cake. A super solid machine for all around use.

I’ve had an acer nitro 5 for years so this was a major upgrade to begin with but the ability to run all the games I wanted to previously on ultra with little drop in frame rate is impressive. Yes it does get a little hot with some games but is expected with any gaming laptop really. Battery life while unplugged and playing any game is really optimal but never play unless it is plugged in. Having a cooling tray will help with the heat but overall an easy 8.5/10. Also got it on sale so worth it imo.

Solid Gaming PC fo: Complex but Capable

I purchased this computer for my brother's birthday, as he's delving into more demanding "professional" games. By that, I mean games requiring higher performance, a strong graphics card for optimal gaming experience, ample storage, high refresh rates, and so forth. After researching online and considering other reviews and specifications, I settled on this PC. It's indeed an excellent computer, fully supporting all his games without lag. However, I want to highlight a point not mentioned in other reviews: this isn't suitable for beginners unfamiliar with computers, in my opinion. The computer offers various game and operation settings alongside a complex Armory Crate interface. It took me a while to navigate it, and even after watching numerous YouTube tutorials i sometimes struggle to remember everting. Additionally, there was no prompt or included tutorial upon unboxing. While this isn't necessarily a negative, it's important to note that for first-time users, the initial operation might be somewhat challenging. Nonetheless, it's definitely something that can be mastered over time.

Thanks to my Little Brother, he found this laptop on sale and I tracked one down to pick up. Wish I could have found one with a larger display, but it's wicked fast. I've bumped up the RAM (to 32GB) and tossed in an extra 2TB SSD.

I bought this laptop on black friday of 2023 and I’ve waited until June 2024 to write the review to give a full picture of a realistic user. This laptop is pretty great. Build quality feels solid, specs are great for the money especially if you can find one on sale. Laptop has easily upgradable storage and memory.

Caught it on sale and this thing is a beast for the price. Runs MW3 perfectly as well as all the casual games I play. I did swap the RAM for two 16gb sticks and added an extra 1TB m.2, but even with the upgrades, this was hundreds cheaper than the next closest option. Nothing can touch this as far as bang for the buck.

Fast and able to complete high performance tasks, but lacks in build quality and horrible battery life. Only worth it if you only plan to leave it plugged in at home, but that defeats the purpose of a laptop.

Both pros and cons are thought from a "I dont need to install software to fix it" point of view. Pros: -battery, I use it unplugged when not gaming and I've gotten 5 to 6 hours constantly. - Gaming performance, only game to have hit 100%gpu so far has been monster hunter world with a 144fps cap. -GPU temperature, just great, hasn't exceeded 70C. - Display is beautiful. -Keyboard is clicky and very responsible. Cons: - CPU temperature, there is a way to bypass this but right out of the box this boy gets hot. - only 2 usb type A (may not be a con for you) -Camera is ok, nothing fancy. -Mousepad is bland. Sometimes you have to click it like you mean to break it for it to work. -Need to install a different software for manual fan control. How to bypass CPU overheating? Look for a review in how to install and use "Throttle stop" or other softwares that can limit your CPU. In essence I'd recommend deactivating turbo boost on your CPU. Believe me, 1 or 2 fps less for 30 to 40 degrees less is a great trade-off.

Loving it so far! Runs games at max graphics with no problem, can handle multiple virtual machines running at the same time, and the design just looks cool. I only have 2 problems with it so far. The first being the boot time is not great but it seems to be getting better. Also the armory crate appears to be designed more for the asus ROG brand more than the TUF so some things are not compatible. But overall a great laptop!

I decided to treat myself to a birthday present this year and I could not be happier with what I chose! This laptop runs every game I've downloaded at max speed and at the highest quality! The biggest downside is the battery but it does not bother me too much as I keep it plugged in at all times.

Was a little hesitant since the sale price was only $1099. Looked to good to be true but I was wrong. Absolutely best bang for your buck with the Asus gaming laptops. I run whatever games I want with 0 issues. Just turn the setting down if not gaming so the battery last longer

It's a good gaming laptop overall. If ur considering for budget gaming laptop, I'd recommend this. The quality u get form play this is absolutely awesome with the price you have to pay ofr it. it got the functions from the other gaimg laptops that I've reviewed before. Just a thing is that, since it is a gaming laptop, it lags time to time if the power is not connected.

This gaming laptop has excellent performance on both CPU and GPU for the price. The keyboard has excellent feel and response. In performance mode the fan noise is minor and the heat seems very acceptable. I use it on my lap playing games and am not uncomfortable with it. The only downside is the screen resolution is 1920x1080 but it is very acceptable for laptop gaming.

This is my second gaming laptop in my life (first one was bought back in 2012 so it's very long time ago). I have my main gaming desktop with RTX 4090 so I was obviously looking for alt option that I can use when traveling or going to my friend's house or let my wife use it when she wants to play video games with me. I bought this when it was on a deal and it was around early 1000 I believe. The quality of the build is very nice and the keyboard seems pretty responsive. We hooked it up to 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor to play Overwatch and it works very similar to my main desktop so far (at least on this game) and I really love it so far.
