“Open box” purchase but has dead pixels out of the box. Not the first time this has happened purchasing from Best Buy either. Didn’t bother returning as it’s just a secondary monitor, but they really need to do a better job inspecting their “Open box” products because this has happened to me and several other friends in the past. Not just a one time occurrence.

First let me start off on how to set the monitor to it's Max Refresh Rate of 75hz under Windows 10 as it set it for me at 60 when I 1st tried it. Right Click your desktop -> Display Settings -> Scroll all the way down to Advanced Display Settings - > Choose the monitor under Choose Display -> Scroll all the way down and change refresh rate to 75 under Refresh Rate Package ========== Monitor it self is in the heart of it's sturdy box with super thick Styrofoam protection. Mind you the base of the stand is not attached yet but the arm is out of the box. Display ========== Color accuracy out of the box was great. Just needed a little tweaking for my personal preferences. Again Win 10 sets it at 60hz and you must manually set it to its full potential of 75 (stated at the beginning). FHD content albeit games/movies/streams were great for it with the 1ms response time. Though it might suffer from hardcore competitive gaming with it's 75Hz max refresh. Other than that, it's still a great display. On the my pics, it's the one on the far right. I use it for surfing the web, watching FHD content and when gaming, I turn it 90 degrees for Discord. Inputs/Features ========== Pretty basic - 1x HDMI, 1x VGA, 1x Audio Jack Being FHD @ 75Hz doesn't require DP (Display Port) at all and the HDMI connection will suit everyone just fine. I am pretty shocked to see a major blast from the past VGA connection. Who still uses that or even has a GPU that old with it lol. Audio jack can be used for a headset if you use HDMI as the hook up. Stand is really great. Screen can Tilt, go up and down, and rotate as well for portrait display. Screen is VESA compatible but you need to unscrew the arm off 1st before you do it as it's attached right out of the box. ASUS has been making great displays for years and this one is a great choice for budget gamers aiming at 1080p gaming.

Purchased Two of these monitors, one failed shortly failing shortly after a couple months. It started as one line, then two lines, now the entire monitor is pretty much a paper weight.

The screen keeps changing color mode and the menu constantly pops up. All on its own so that’s annoying while trying to work.

This budget monitor provides a great gaming experience at an affordable price without compromising any gaming experience. This Asus FreeSync VG246H 23.8" is a Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 with a 75 Hz refresh rate (the more refresh rate on monitors, the less resolution they offer). This is a Freesync monitor, which means it works with an AMD video card if you want to get full advantage of the 75 Hz refresh rate and have a better picture rendering experience as the video card syncs simultaneously with the monitor to produce an adaptive frame of videos for low latency of picture experience based on the refresh rate of the game. My gaming experience was outstanding on this monitor. I have not had any pictures lag or screen tearing when playing games. My game is a 60 HZ refresh rate, so it is still below the monitor's capability but worked flawlessly. The screen is glare-free, and the picture is clear, and the colors are bright. The monitor stand is sturdy wisely designed to adjust the height and preference of viewing position; it can be tilted, swiveled, pivoted. Connectivity, this monitor has HDMI version 1.4 and VGA ports. Great monitor for the price point. Note: If you have Nvidia GPU and want to connect this FreeSync monitor to it, you need to download the latest version of the Nvidia G-Sync driver to unlock FreeSync monitor support.

This is a really good and affordable gaming monitor with excellent color reproduction and response times. If you look at my pictures you will see I have a standard 60hz 1080P monitor on the left and the 75hz 1080P ASUS VG246H on the right. Clearly, on the VG246H, the blacks are darker, the colors are brighter and the picture is more solid. Aside from the excellent picture quality there are some things I liked about this monitor and a few that disappointed me. What I liked about the monitor is that it included some premium features that you normally don't see on other monitors. Primarily the 4-way stand. The stand can tilt, raise and lower, twist to either side and even be used in a portrait mode. Also, if you aren't a fan of stands it's also VESA mountable. Aside from that, it has a built-in adjustment feature that allows you to align the display to another display. As well as, the other game plus features, which can come in handy. With game plus, the monitor can display crosshairs on the screen, FPS or a countdown timer. Additionally, it includes gaming visual modes for racing, first person shooting, cinema and RPG games. Each mode changes the calibration of the display to give you the best visuals for the type of game you are playing. Then there are the things I didn't like. For some reason, ASUS added a VGA input to a gaming monitor. I don't know of any recent graphics cards that use VGA. Also, they placed too many buttons on the bottom of the screen. There are 7 buttons which are used to toggle the monitor settings. The same job could have been accomplished with 3 buttons. As far as gaming on the monitor, it performed really well. With FreeSync and the 75hz refresh rate I didn't notice any tearing, dropped frames or artifacts. With all that being said, I like the monitor and recommend it to anyone that wants excellent color reproduction, fast response times, only needs one HDMI input and wants the full adjustability that the stand provides.

Nope. It came with no Monior Display chord ( just a 2 ended HDMI one) and NO Power chord at all SO I don't even know if it works. I am going to scronge for appropriate chords or I will have to return this.

I got this on sale for about $120. For that price this is the best budget monitor. Accurate colors, sharp pictures, adjustable stand and cool design. Only complaint is no speakers.
