This laptop is incredible. My only wish is that it could had had a built in webcam in the lid of the screen but it's still an amazing laptop at it's price point.

Dear Pixelproject, Certainly, we understand your disappointment with the unit and I'll be happy to assist. Just to confirm, is windows fully up to date? You can also update the following drivers. This is one heck of a fast laptop!
I knew that when I first turned it on and it booted up in about 6 seconds this was a high performance laptop!
Right out of the box it doesn't come with much. Basically the laptop, charging cable, and a little paperwork. Very minimalist packaging.
As I said before, when you boot it up, it is to the desktop in under 10 seconds. That's where the extra RAM and solid state hard drive really make this thing shine.
This thing is spec'd out really well. Lots of RAM, big SSD hard drive, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX for graphics. They went all out on loading this up with some very good hardware! The laptop itself feels very solid and like it was made from some good solid plastics and metal.
As far as the performance goes, I cant say I am a hardcore gamer, but I do know about benchmarks and how they can affect the gameplay. So far on this I have tried Total War: Warhammer 2, Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Far Cry 5. They all played flawlessly. Not a single hiccup in any of the games. I was getting very solid frame rates and the laptop was very responsive. Having the WASD Keys in a different color from the rest of the keyboard makes it easy to navigate and see where your hands are positioned. It was a little weird to get used to when doing regular typing, but after a little while I got used to it (I'm a touch typer that has to look at the keys).
I have no doubt that you can throw any game at this thing and it will perform just as good if not better than it does on some PC's....its that good!
As far as everyday use. You could totally use this as a everyday computer as well. Under normal use with the screen on most of the time I was getting 7-8 hours of use out of it before needing a charge. Its very lightweight and compact so it would be easy to carry around all day as well. It has all the usual ports, HDMI, USB, Ethernet, even a Thunderbolt port that was nice to see. The only gripe I have is that there is no card reader, but I have noticed a lot of laptop manufacturers aren't including those anymore even though they are still widely used.
The screen looks amazing and can get nice and bright if you choose. There is also a TON of different settings you can customize and tweak to get it to perform just how you want it to in the included Armoury Crate and My Asus software.
Overall, while a little pricy, this is an amazing laptop! For people that are just gamers, or even part time gamers that are looking for a work or school laptop as well this would be perfect! it is by far the fastest laptop I have ever used!

Okay so i purchased this laptop simply because it was cheap 3070. Single color backlit keyboard was nice and bright, screen was amazing to look at. I was a bit skeptical of the quad core i7 considering last gen had hexa- and octa core processors. Now the computer worked exceptionally well the first week. Played whatever i threw at it beautifully. No lag, no hiccups, nothing. After the first week I noticed there were some updates I was apparently ignoring. I update everything and shut it down for the night. Next morning i boot it up to check some things on steam before i head to work. It doesn't boot. Everything lights up but the screen is black. I shut it down and try again and everything boots no problem. After a few other weird moments like this throughout the week it finally just refused to boot. Everything lit up, power button pulsating, and battery light blinking twice and stopping then blinking again and the drive activity light being completely solid.

Dear Joseph,
Indeed, the laptop has a good design concept.
We do understand your concern regarding the laptop not booting up properly after a Windows update. If the unit didn't completely shutdown, it will go into hibernate mode, the power button needs to be pressed and held down until the unit wakes up successfully. Or, if a recent WINDOWS Update was just installed, the unit will go into a black screen temporarily while updates are being applied in the System Registry. Another solution is to perform a power cycle by pressing and holding the power button until it powers off completely. Wait for at least 10 seconds then press the power button to power on. Wait until the unit boot up normally into the Home screen. Another power cycle may need to be initiated if it still blackscreen. Ensure all Windows update were installed completely.

So I've had this for awhile, I initially got it for work (but wanted the power incase I ever did want to play games while travelling), only to just now realize after finally wanting to get games on it... that it does NOT have a 3070. it doesn't even have a GPU, it has the Intel Iris Xe Integrated graphics. don't buy. please don't make the same mistake I did.

Decent laptop. The price seems high. The screen is nice and the keyboard feels good too. No RGB, that sucks. Also, this laptop has 4 core which is not enough for 3070. Good, be better. Look for better options.

Best budgeted RTX gaming laptop you can find currently with the newest i7 11th gen processor, only thing is that performance wise is a little lacking but other than that its really efficient.

The laptop is an aesthetically pleasing device with a nice industrial build that works well for non-GPU intensive tasks. However, I would not recommended if you are hoping to execute GPU intensive tasks such as 3D rendering or reservoir simulation. Once the project was executed the GPU rapidly ramped up and the laptop would get extremely hot. Shortly after this occurs, the laptop would shutdown and refuse to restart until it was back to room temperature.

Bottlenecked performance by proprietary software

The TUF Dash, on paper, is amazing. It comes equipped with everything you need, a 3070, a i7 11th gen processor, 1 tb ssd, and 16 gb ram. To add on, it's way cheaper than other laptops with its specs. Yet, even with it's amazing hardware the practical performance of this laptop is far lower than its potential.
Many ASUS laptops that have released in 2021 are hard wired with software called Optimus. You can't turn it off and the only way to bypass it is either to use the USB-C port to a monitor or to turn off your integrated GPU inthe device manager and connect an external monitor through hdmi. This defeats the purpose of the amazing 240 hz monitor the laptop comes equipped with.
Surely it can't be that bad? NVIDIA says the iGPU works as a throughput for the dGPU. But no, the iGPU bottlenecks it hard, and it really is that bad. Using an external monitor doesn't result in a minor increase in performance, but rather, nearly doubles it in some games. Popular games like Overwatch or Valorant will see 150+ FPS boosts if you use an external monitor and without an external monitor, the laptop won't even get close to reaching framerates that can utilize a 240 hz monitor effectively; even when it's on turbo mode, with Overwatch on lowest graphics. If using the laptop monitor, it barely outperforms my Dell G3 15 from years ago, which is equipped with a 1050 ti. That's a graphics card two tiers lower and two generations prior to the one in this laptop.
In conclusion, if you want to play single player games like Monster Hunter or Far Cry, it shouldn't matter too much. But if you want to stream or play a competitive game, this laptop isn't for you, unless you want to hook it up to a monitor 24/7 in which case, you might as well buy a desktop instead.
