      Dear TheWorst,

We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience if you are experiencing slow system speed or performance issue with the laptop.

This issue is temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service. Also, laptop will do several system reboot, black screen temporarily or restart during the update process. Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance.

If the above-mentioned steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.

I'm 51 years old and my first computer was a 75HZ Hewlett Packard. That should give you an idea of when I started playing with them. During the time since I've had a quite a few. I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like this. This 11th gen i7 paired with the GeForce 3070, and all the other features make this the new standard. I have been running this computer, playing games non-stop for the past 18 hours, got up and started again. Everything from Fortnite, Star Wars, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Cold War and others and some of these games require a lot of power. This thing didn't miss a beat, nor did it get as hot as I thought it would I did not experience one glitch, freeze, loading problems, I mean nothing and it is sooooooooooooooo clear, like watching a movie. The sound is fantastic too. The computer wakes up fast, everything is easy to find. ITs not full of bloatware (Things you will never use). In a word its fun. From the many hours I've used it, it seems very durable, because I really put this thing through the ringer, hard. THere is a reason its sold out. So look out for price gouging elsewhere. I've never seen such a responsive display of game play. The 240hz display makes the old 120hz look like the difference between VHS and Bluray and no more blurring when things are moving fast. You can't go wrong with this machine. Hopefully BB will have more instock very soon...

    Great Value Gaming Computer

The computer is well built. I've never seen such a sleek looking gaming machine. it looks more like an ultrabook than a gaming machine. The screen is pretty good; it has a high refresh rate but is only 1080p. I personally think I will use an external monitor, which they made super easy to do with the inclusion of an HDMI port. The keyboard feels nice to the touch. Gaming on it was great for a laptop. I like that it's backlit. I tried out quite a few games on this machine and had overall pretty great results. This system could run anything I threw at it. Fortnite, Spellbreak, DOTA 2, Skater XL. In many cases the game was able to run at ultra settings at 1080p and I'd still get over 100fps. The 3070 rips as much as you think. I think the processor is a bit limiting since it's only a quad core but overall I'd say it still gets great performance. My favorite part about this laptop is that it was really well thought through with the gamer in mind. The input/output port selection is great--the inclusion of an HDMI port is great. It also includes thunderbolt 4 which should provide some future proofing. Speaking of futureproofing, the RAM is upgradable up to 24gb which is a nice feature considering how common it is for all RAM to be soldered onto the motherboard in laptops. The exclusion of a webcam was an interesting choice. This may not be of concern to you if you don't video chat often. Overall I'd say this is a pretty great value machine for someone looking to game but is also looking for something portable.

I have spent two weeks with the new ASUS TUF DASH as my primary machine and have come away thinking it could have been so much more. The build quality is quite good, but the plastic housing doesn't exactly scream premium. Also, the graphics on the display lid make taking it into a more serious setting a tad questionable. If you are buying it for straight up gaming then the looks will be right up your alley. Overall fit and finish feels good though. The machine is also fairly thin and reasonably light; Very portable for the power inside. Let's talk about what's inside. The quad core processor right off the bat threw up a huge question mark in my head as to how it would effect performance. After running benchmarks and playing some Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Cybperpunk 2077 I determined my concerns may be reasonable. In both instances the RTX 3070 appeared to be the bottleneck (>95%) and the CPU could be seen running 75% with no throttling. This was using max quality settings with both and ray tracing turned on in Cyberpunk I was seeing 45-60fps. Obviously with a less graphically intense game you would see far higher frame rates and be able to see more benefit in the 240Hz display. Despite the sub 60fps average frame rate in both games the variable refresh rate helps substantially in making it feel smooth. It is immensely playable and should fit the bill for all current games. My concern stems more around future titles. The TUF DASH is just barely able to hit 60fps maxed out with current titles and creates real pause for future titles that would be assumed to be more advanced than today's titles. Just don't think the machine has the legs for a long run. The 15.6" 240Hz 1080p display looks great and offers solid on and off axis color reproduction. Very responsive and only minor flash lighting in the bottom corners of the display. It is a variable refresh rate capable display, but does not directly support G-Sync despite the RTX 3070 inside. The PCI-E 3.0 1TB nVME SSD is fast and responsive. Nothing of note to say aside from it gets the job done... quickly. The TUF DASH has WiFi 6 (AX) and a gigabit ethernet port which is a nice plus on a thinner machine. Keyboard has backlighting with adjustable brightness and pattern control, but single color. Keys feel good and I found the typing experience solid (minimal typing errors) with long periods of use. The trackpad is smooth, very responsive, and reminds me of my Razer. Battery life is decent at around seven hours with medium brightness and running basic applications such as web browsing or Word. If you opt to fire up a game expect less than two hours from the notebook. Overall, ASUS has built a competent gaming notebook in the TUF DASH. I believe the choice of the quad core 11th gen i7 was a mistake long term, but overall the machine gets the job done. So why only three stars, well, that is what it is. In the very competitive gaming notebook market the TUF DASH is simply average. There is nothing that sets it out from the pack and has a questionable longevity in exactly the market it aims for. Add it to your list if you are in the market for a thin and light gaming notebook, but research the competition first.

This laptop needed to have a system restore to fix a corrupted windows it came with, and after the bios update the temperatures under peak performance became stable. First out of the box cpu hit a max temp of 88 Celsius, which is very concerning. Why did I give it 5 stars? because the build is good, after the bios update the voltage was adjusted in ASUS armory i noticed and temps dropped to 68 cels under peak loads. Which is actually pretty cool for an INTEL processor. Best thing about this laptop though, it hit an average of 170 FPS on ULTRA settings heaven 3d benchmark. thats AMAZING! Its max fps it hit on ultra settings with heaven benchmark was 341 fps and its lowest was 58. Being said its all new hardware I am sure graphic drivers will come out and even out that low dip. Assassins creed games hit 80 fps on average on max settings. Ubisoft titles are hard af to run. Buy one before these sell out, make sure you update the software before gaming though or it will overheat.
