Great value if you have an external monitor.

Awesome laptop for the price. As other reviews have stated this things runs like crap if you use the laptop monitor but runs like an asbolute beast with an external monitor. Also found that if i close the lid while playing a game on my external monitor it switches back to the onboard graphics and runs like crap again. If you have an external monitor and are ok leaving the lid open when you game then this is the best laptop you can get right now for the money. If you plan to game with this laptop monitor i would look elsewhere as i get about 60 fps with the laptop screen but 140+ on a 27" external monitor at 1080p.

This is a great gamming rig. It is very fast and great display. I was a little disappointed with the absence of an integrated camera. That is my fault for not looking at the specs prior pre-ordering.

Great laptop with 3070 RTX. The 3070 is a little underpowered when compared to other laptop's but the cost is lower also which makes up for it. I would recommend for a portable gaming device.

The latest “mid-range” gaming laptop from Asus, the TUF Dash F15, is a great entry into the market for a lot of reasons, and one you should consider if you’re looking for power, sleekness, and performance on the go.
Starting out, unboxing the laptop was easy and typical in a brown box. You get the power cord and brick, start up guide, and the laptop itself. Standard fair.
Once everything is out and you take the laptop out of its protective sleeving you’ll see just how sleek the grey looks. Make no mistake: the F15 is slim, doesn't look too “gamer”, and at 4.4lbs stacks up against the likes of a Macbook Pro, from an overall size perspective. It’s made of aluminum and plastics, which you’d expect in this price range.
You’ll want to perform a BIOS update upon first turning on, along with a few other system updates recommended from Asus upon initial power on.
Starting off, the screen is pretty good, not the best calibrated out of the box, but will do for most, and with the RTX 3070 the 240hz refresh rate can really be unlocked provided you play on lower graphics settings. During my testing, I found that the F15 really stood up with High or Ultra quality games at 1080p above 60fps for most AAA titles. Putting it in perspective, my own desktop is outfitted with a RTX 2080 TI and 32GB of RAM, on a 1440p 144hz 34” monitor, and at 1080p the difference wasn’t as profound as I expected.
Speaking of general performance, the battery during my week so far with it has been great, honestly. One unique feature is that you can actually charge via one of the USB C ports if you want, to mitigate the poor power port placement. Hard tasks you can expect the usual 2-3 hours worth, but other, standard usage I consistently got 6-8 hours out of it, which to me isn’t bad at all.
Of course, if you’re worried about a quiet gaming laptop this probably isn’t your best choice. The fans and computer tend to run a bit warm, which should be expected from such a small chassis and power underneath the hood. Ideally, this isn’t on your lap during power sessions, as the metal can get warm to the touch. Again, nothing out of the ordinary, just something to note.
WiFi is also fast with the new ax adapter included., and audio output is adequate, or good enough, with the two speakers.
Should you want access to the components, you can do so by removing the bottom panel via 14 screws. Upgrades to 32GB RAM, different storage, etc, are all doable.
The biggest minus, to me, from making this a really good buy is the omission of a camera. The other cons, to me at least, are the placement of the power port and processor. Right in the middle of the chassis is never really thrilling placement. Added on, I think the quad-core processor is a solid entry, but also seems like a potential bottleneck down the line.
Overall, I think this laptop is great, and if it was priced roughly $150-200 cheaper I think it’d be a great buy. Either way, I would recommend.

I'm not really a computer savvy person now a days but this computer turned out very well. Lightning fast, great screen. I use headphones so i don't really know how well the speakers are. I bought one of those laptop cooling mats which i think is needed. The only place i know of that gets pretty hot otherwise is at the top middle above the keyboard. Playing warzone not quite max settings but pretty close I'm getting 90-110 fps.

I have been buying components from Asus for about 20 years now. Their motherboards and video cards have been solid as was their support at the time. The same being said for Alienware laptops as build your own isn't quite as flexible there yet. I had Alienware laptops for the last 14 years as I liked the 18" and 17" laptops that often had SLI as well with space for adding drives/SSD.
That being said, I decided to try out this laptop since it had a 3070 in it and I couldn't get a card anywhere. I was about to go on a road trip so it was a great time to test it out. Some of my findings were:
Light and smaller at 15" so it had some room when I opened it up in the car.
I liked the easy adjustments on the CPU/GPU toggle to conserve battery life.
But the "automatic" would not always switch to GPU when triggering a game making it more manual in the control panel.
The ASUS command did a great job updating drivers and flashed the BIOS. There are a lot of options in there I have not fully explored.
My bi-weekly Zoom DnD game while up in the woods did not go as well since there was no webcam.
The audio is okay. Very basic.
Backlighting is a greenish hue no RGB.
The speed and game quality are great when plugged in.
There was a difference when not plugged in as I found playing Cyberpunk in the car.
Non-gaming several hours showing in the battery life, gaming a little over an hour maxed out.
Overall is a solid performance with a good screen and refresh rate. While 2K at least would be nice, they put the money into 11th gen CPU, 16GB ram, and 1TB SSD. To make this work under $2K had some sacrifices, but I'd say if you can live with them you will not be disappointed in this laptop!

You're getting pretty good performance here but don't expect anywhere near desktop 3070 results. Other 3070 laptops will do much better than this but cost more.

What do you get a 18 year old gamer wanting to start learning how to do gaming graphics? A laptop that easily handles both! The ASUS TUF system cranks through games without breaking a sweat, and easilyconnects to external monitors for the art side. Having military grade toughness specs, it survives bumps and thumps that come with belonging to an 18 year old. Best laptop I've bought in a long time.

First gaming laptop for me, not a Pro but I'm quite happy with my purchase pricewise.
A friend recommended this one to me, haven't had the time to make full use of all it's capabilities but so far i'm happy with it.
For the price of the components it's a very good deal, a little noisy when playing only.
Also I was sad that I missed the free game that was included with the laptop.

It's a really good laptop for everyday use as well as gaming. The laptop however does run hot and even hotter if you set graphics to ultra and utilize the full 240Hz panel depending if its a graphically demanding game. I only recommend 240 HZ if the it's an older or lighter game, and 60HZ if going for a power hungry modern game. Overall it's really good for everyday use, however you may need to buy an external webcam if you need to do a video call but external webcams are pretty cheap if you find the right one.
