Solid budget gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4 stars because my model has somewhat annoying coil whine and because it is pretty hot as far as gaming laptops go. Will otherwise run most esports and last gen games pretty easily at 1080p at 100+ fps

Good for the price, with mostly fixable issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR; great performance for the price point with relatively easy upgradeability. Absolutely should add more RAM. Pros: Fast screen refresh for competitive gaming Decent wifi card for fast internet connection (with Ethernet port option) Nicely sized screen Decently performing graphics cards with pretty decent heat transfer/dispersal Good hinge and has a decent quality. Cons: Shipped with a large performance bottleneck for multitasking with limited RAM Screen backlight issues. Integrated “armory crate” software native to Asus, but overall is a pretty awful experience. Okay. For the majority of people who want to game on the go this is a great deal. If you’re trying to play CS:GO or Halo at a LAN party or any modern title (with varying settings) with your buds this is an easy, low-cost no brainer. It functions well in singular tasks and with its integrated graphics/dedicated GPU functionality it gives you the ability to save your battery and shut off the dedicated gpu when it’s not necessary. And with the Ryzen 6000 series it’s hard to go wrong. This is a great idea and would be a great feature… If it was noticeable in the slightest. Windows has had an ongoing issue with “standby battery” modes and unfortunately this laptop is no different. “10 hours watching video or browsing” is almost realistic. I actually get about 8-9 so not too much to complain about there, but there’s no point in including an extra long battery life in the marketing if it will drain in standby in almost the same amount of time. As for the screen, I get great fps on low settings in Darktide, warzone 2.0. And of course older titles are much more capable. With the 144hz refresh rate and the stable 3050ti it’s a smooth experience almost always. However, the back lighting for the screen is uneven in different parts of the display, to a degree where it’s noticeable in darker screen environments. Not a deal breaker, but could be easily fixed by sealing the casing to the screen properly. With the SoDimm ddr5 ram at 4800 mhz it does have very good task loading/cache loading time, however with modern day applications absolute thirst for RAM space I HIGHLY recommend installing a second slotted RAM. There is one empty upgrade slot, so you don’t have to worry about dual channel compatibility. Adding one 16gb Corsair vengeance ddr5 sodimm improved the performance while multitasking between discord, browsing, and gaming considerably. It’s a great buy if you’re looking for a great, portable, gaming station. Even good for plugging in and running vr in different locations, but if you’re looking for something to match your desktop I would consider upping your price point. If this laptop is on sale absolutely buy it.

Nice Laptop so far
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I'm happy with this laptop. I'm not much of a gamer but I do a lot of graphics and it's perfect for this. The RAM is expandable to I did add an additional 16GB of Ram. I've had no issues with it and love the feel of the keyboard.

Some Like it Hot!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a ASUS K501U that I bought 7 years ago and love it. It was then the top rated budget gaming laptop. I bought it because it had two fans to keep the computer cool and your lap too. I figured after 7 years I better buy a new ASUS and this model was on sale and rated by many mags/reviewers as the best for the money. Please let me preface I never use the computer for gaming. Performance is great-very fast. Monitor is a flat screen so no reflections. You need to buy the 32 GB RAM - particularly for gaming. According to the TUF screen I was using more than 8GB to stream a Prime football game or in a Zoom meeting. BIG BUT! The Tuf screen also showed temperatures running between 52 to 90+ C degrees. Mostly between 65-80C. So I bought a Safe Sleeve to put on my lap to prevent me from burning up. I took it to Best Buy and they stress tested it with a game an they said it was operating within manufactures parameters. I called ASUS and they said the maximum temp to operate safely is 150F degrees. That would be 65C or less. It was frequently exceeding that without gaming. I was using it for just everyday operations. The backlit keyboard is hard to read on the upper rows because the characters are not contrasted enough. The keypad response was very good though. The touch pad is very touchy. A brush by with a finger and you are in a whole different location or tab. I returned the computer after realizing I wouldn't be as happy as I am with my K501. I hope next year they come out with a better design that is a true Lap top. Rather than a gaming Desktop. Many have liked it.

All in all pretty fantastic
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Run’s everything fantastically, the ram can be upgraded but even by itself as the one stick of 8gb at 4800mhz it is very fast and doesn’t slow anything down. Very easy and smooth to set up and upgrade too.

Great for gaming, solid workhorse for small office
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use this laptop in our office and it runs 24/7. It’s a solid workhorse and we can play games when we aren’t busy working. It multitasks soo good and the monitor is smooth at the high refresh rate. It also sounds great and games perform well at 1080p high settings. I have no complaints at all, this laptop is fantastic and would recommend at this price to anyone looking for a light and portable gaming system that doesn’t empty your wallet!

Upgraded RAM/New Keyboard for Power but worth $
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the laptop. Of course had to upgrade RAM. But power button was an issue from the start. Bought Dec 2023 and wouldn't power on at end of 2024. So having to buy new keyboard for laptop only year old sucks! But I got it on sale so not bad!

Best laptop all around, not too pricy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is surprisingly quick and powerful. Plays apex at max settings with no problems, and with an extra stick of ram handles most things applicable on a laptop. Very satisfied and great build quality.

I love it!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great first gaming laptop! I was using a PS5 and then moved to a gaming laptop and am so happy I did. It’s just flawless and very easy to use. In my opinion better than a PS5. I would only recommend that you upgrade the ram. I got a crucial 32gb ram ddr5 card and installed it into my system. Works great! Love that I can do the upgrades myself and that it’s very easy to do. Battery is good. I normally do have to plug it into a power source to game, but for all other activities it last a good while. I’m cool with it. Highly recommend if your looking for an affordable laptop. This is it!

Nice portable gaming system
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent gaming Laptop. It's pretty fast with beautiful graphics, but will get heated up quickly. A table fan will resolve the heating issue.
