Love this computer, how big the screen is and how good the graphics are

I recently purchased the ASUS VivoBook and have been really impressed with its overall performance and value. Right out of the box, the design feels sleek and modern, with a lightweight build that makes it easy to carry around for work, school, or travel.
Performance-wise, it handles everyday tasks smoothly — browsing with multiple tabs open, streaming, working in Microsoft Office, and even light photo editing all run without any noticeable lag. The startup time is quick, and the system feels responsive thanks to the SSD storage.
The display is bright and clear, with good color accuracy for its class. It’s comfortable to use for extended periods, whether I’m working on documents or watching videos. The keyboard is also surprisingly comfortable, with good key travel and a solid layout that makes typing easy and efficient. The touchpad is responsive and accurate.

I purchased this for Black Friday at $279. At that price this is a very good value if it meets your needs.
The CPU is the standout component, it being a core 5 series 1 (14th gen.). It is noticeably fast with its 5 GHz Max frequency for its 2 hyper-threaded performance cores. It has 8 efficiency cores with Max of 3.8 GHz. All in a 15 W nominal package. The other notable feature is the extra ram slot for a DDR4 sodimm (3200). I added a 16 GB ram module for a total of 24 GB. As a test I took a 1.8 GB GIMP file and did a simple rotate 90 degrees. On my 8 core 16 thread 65 W Ryzen 5700G it took 8 seconds and on this thing it took 8.5 seconds. I'm very pleased.
The storage is a standard 2280 nvme drive which can be replaced. The wifi card is also replaceable if you wish to upgrade from the wifi 6 module that it comes with.
The screen is actually good being an ips panel with decent off angle viewing. It's not bright enough for sunny outdoor work but is much better than any of the other budget screens from ASUS I've seen. It has a glossy finish, so reflections can be an issue.
Ports are decent with 2 type A USB at 5 Gbps, 1 type A 2.0 (for mouse and/or keyboard dongle) and 1 type c USB at 5 Gbps. It has a full size hdmi port and a headphone/mic port.
It idles (electrical power) a little higher than I would have thought.
Overall, at the price I paid this is a great value and workhorse machine for a variety of purposes. Just be aware of it's limitations.

We gifted the ASUS Laptop 120U to our daughter, and it’s perfect for her studies. It’s lightweight, durable with US military-grade (MIL-STD-810H) build, and runs smoothly on Windows 11 S Mode. Ideal for online classes, assignments, and daily use with reliable performance and battery life.

Everything working well so far. Got it for $279.99 between Black Friday and Cyber Monday when it was discounted. Having the newer Core 5 (and not the older "Core i5"), even if it is the low-power class chip (120U) for this price made this purchase worth it. I just hope the comments about this unit having an empty slot for another RAM stick are true so that I could upgrade this later. The size and weight are also awesome for travel and the screen size still displays a lot of detail. I'm not sure if it really had Windows S mode as default as when I tried to switch it to Windows 11 Home, I couldn't. When I checked carefully on Windows settings, it said that it was already on 11 Home, so I did not have to do anything. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

Light, compact, and easy to carry. Performance is smooth for everyday tasks, and the SSD makes it feel fast. Great value for the price a solid choice for daily use.

The ASUS is a good basic laptop. I bought it for Windows programs I could not run on my Macbook and it does fine for that. The screen is muted so not as vibrant for gaming or videos. The speakers are quiet so be prepared to use headphones for any sound. If you know what you're getting at this price point, you will be fine.
