Powerful enough for just about anything i throw at it (multi tasking, photoshop, audio DAW with low latency recording, other photo and video editing) The reason i take a star off is that the screen doesn't have that great of picture (really washed out blacks) and no backlit keyboard which would be nice. Ultimately, for the money,it's a good quality laptop

thus far I have been pretty well pleased with this laptop. The screen is great and the speed is good with my Internet server. The one thing I am surprised is the speaker is under the laptop does not make sense to me.

2 of these - on Dr. Jeckyll and one Mr. Hyde

This seems like a nice computer for the price point. Everything pretty much plug & play & not a lot of bloatwear. However it is a bit of a Jeckyll & Hyde machine.
Why do I say that? I bought 2 of these machines a few months apart. The first I bought because a Dell would not boot after an update, said contact the manufacturer for a new copy of Windows & Dell, in their infinite wisdom did not want to know me as the machine was 3 or so years old. That one is Jeckyll. The second one I bought to replace my wife's much older HP. Although it was a fairly expensive machine with an Intel i7 processor, it would not update beyond Win 7. This was, of course, causing MS Windows non-support/update issues. Set up on this one went pretty much as the first one and all seemed well. However, it is Hyde as anytime there is an unexpected shut-down (e.g. not through right clicking the Windows logo) it looses internet. Trouble shooting tell me to do a, b, and c to get it back which would be all well & good if the choices I should be seeing were actually there. I have to fumble through steps which I don't think I managed to do the same twice to finally, eventually, get internet back.
So, for anyone else buying this machine, hope you get the Jeckyll version and not the Hyde version.

Very surprised by the quality and ease of use and setup. It is lighter weight which makes it easier to take along when necessary. On start up, Windows 11 was downloaded and installed. Took it out of "S" mode right away...we are using it mainly for email and some basic games, so it's fast enough for us and the battery lasts long.

I've used this computer for two months now, and I'm still happy with the purchase.
Battery life remains very good - I get maybe 6-8 hours of constant use, with the brightness maxed (outside use) and the bluetooth on (normally a battery drainer).
Speed is fine for basic stuff. I'm not a gamer, so I can't comment on that stuff, but I experience no computer-centric hiccups running normal programs (web, word processing, etc.).
The case, while plastic, is stiffer than my old laptop, which gave me a little shock whenever I picked it up with one hand and it flexed. It's pretty thin (I'm used to laptops with DVD players), and I'm warming up to that tradeoff.
Cons: the speakers are weak. One (the sub?) fires from the bottom of the unit, which is muffled in most circumstances. External speakers are a must.
I recommend this product.

It is an excellent budget laptop for someone with less workload. SSD and 8 GB RAM make it smooth for browsing and school work. It is pretty lightweight to carry around. The Battery backup is more than expected being a low-end laptop. I bought it for my dad. I am sure he will like it!

Have been surprised and pleased with the ASUS laptop. Previously had an HP (older) 17", which was very heavy. This 15" is very light but still has a solid feeling shell. Was worried this size screen might be too small, but with the quality of the picture, haven't even noticed. Start up and logging on is very fast as is page loading. Only negative at this point is the sound...not very loud. Believe speaker is on the bottom so also can end up muffled.

This was a replacement for an 8 year old ASUS laptop that wouldn't migrate to windows 11. Past experience with brand influenced purchasing the same. Much lighter weight/thiner. Great screen size and keyboard feel. For the $$$ and build/hardware, I would recommend. Very pleased! Was glad Best Buy got more in so i could purchase.

Excellent value laptop, does everything I'd need if you don't game this is fine. The battery is internal, lasts a long time on one charge. I'd say using it continually from a full charge I got 5 hours on it.

Keys type very accurate, but feel like plastic. Case looks good, but handles and feels like a hollow plastic shell. For the budget of $300, it performs well. I had to take it out of S mode, located within Windows settings. It's free to do. Keep it in S mode if it's just a Web browser only for you and you don't need to install any other software... it will run faster in S mode. This isn't a machine for heavy gaming, or intense photo rendering but during a pandemic where everything is ridiculously expensive and over-priced this was a good buy. It doesn't leave me impatient, and the solid state drive in it makes up for the i3. Keep in mind this i3 is 1.2ghz, so 8GB RAM and solid state was 1,000% necessary and a redeeming factor in me getting this one over the 14" which only had 4GB RAM comparatively. Lastly, the screen is ANTI-GLARE. I love anti-glare, most people hate it. The viewing angles are terrible so make sure you don't need to share your screen with someone. Otherwise, I can have sunlight directly shining in on it without disturbance and if I put the brightness up it's a good outdoor unit too.
