Disappointed! Had taken in old laptop, had data transferred to new laptop. That seemed to go ok When picked up, Tech told me I could download Chrome if wanted. When I try to download Chrome, new laptop crashes. Looks like I'll have to take it back to techs!

I did not like this computer. I am not very computer savvy, but I can definitely assume that with upgrade this computer could be a better product. The computer boots are very slow and sometimes is very slow to accomplish certain basic task. I personally have had issues with their freezing from time to time when doing schoolwork.

Poor efficiency despite configuration ASUS ASUS - Vivobook 17.3" Laptop - Intel Core 10th Gen i5 - 12GB Memory - 1TB HDD but works like Pentium II in speed. May be okay for use if use is just for basic tasks . Once you install apps as small as SPSS, you will be sleeping off waiting for the computer to respond. Unfortunately Best Buy knows how worst the product was that when I went to trade in they offer $54 for the system if with charger and $43 if without charger. The system is as new as when I bought it no repairs has never been done it. The charger only currently cost up to $40 but the whole system and charger is $54 in trading at Best Buy. SMH

Gave my laptop to my daughter for college so I needed a new one. This has lots of memory but runs kind of slow. It is very large and is not touch screen but overall is a good laptop. It is easy to use and set up but even though I have fiber internet it still runs slowly.

The only reason why I got this laptop is for the 1tb harddrive, spent over 400 and this thing is not worth that much, its slower than a laptop I had in 2016 (that I got for the same price), the laptop dies after 2 hours or charge, the speakers are garbage and ALSO on the bottom of the laptop (meaning it will always be covered/muffled), this is literally the only laptop I have had where if I close it instead of going into sleep mode the laptop has to boot back up, and this is the only laptop i have had where it freezes after booting up (where it shows the home screen and you have to click to get to the sign in) meaning after waiting 5 minutes for it to come on you have to restart it and wait another 5 minutes to try and sign in I honestly wanted to try and do some basic editing on the laptop because I thought the cpu and 12gb memory could handle it but the laptop vomits trying to run with 2 browsers open and I gave up I honestly cant wait to replace this thing

      Dear Bruce,

We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused.

If you are experiencing slow system speed or performance issue with the laptop, please check if Windows is up to date, keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. It will handle basic or light editing as long as Windows and drivers are up to date. The battery life is approximately 4.5 hours of light to medium workload. In order to improve or prolong the battery charged time, please try to do a battery calibration manually. To start with, please drain it completely then charge it fully without using the system. Once fully-charged, please use the laptop, without the AC adapter connected, and drain let the battery drain completely again. Regarding the laptop not going into sleep mode when the lid is close, please configure power options in the Control Panel Power Options. While accessing web applications, please make sure the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor or unstable internet connectio will definitely affect system speed and performance.

If the above-mentioned steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. I purchased my 17in Asus Vivobook a couple of weeks ago last minute for work. I was traveling for work but I needed a wide screen. This laptop is perfect for that. I love that it is lightweight so easy to fit in my bookbag as a carryon. I also like having a 10-key pad. My only issue with this laptop is that the keyboard does not have backlight so it is hard to see your keys in dark or low lighting. The battery life is not as long as I would like so you do need to carry your charger but at least that is a reasonable size. Overall it's a great purchase and it's reasonably priced.

Fast and efficient, suits the desired level of use. However, there are three issues with it that I personally have encountered. First of all, the black print on silver keys makes it difficult to see the letters when it's dark. Second, the laptop charges fast, but also drains quickly. Lastly, there needs to be an indicator light when the nums lock is on, which is my biggest gripe with the product and is a baffling design flaw. Despite these issues however, this laptop has been great and I am quite satisfied. Would be rated higher, but the nonexistence of a nums lock light is a big problem that is hard to overlook.

Its a good laptop my wife likes it. The keyboard is hard to see. The designers went with beauty instead of functionality. Get a silicone keyboard cover for 15.00. The hard drive is a bit slower compared to a ssd drive, but not a game changer for the average adult. For about 50.00 you could switch is ssd drive. All in all the other reviews are pretty spot on. This is good laptop for someone that wants a big screen, browse the internet, read emails, print, do QuickBooks. Anyone who has a etsy shop or online store. It’s prefect for that.

I have to agree with the masses. The hard drive is a done deal for any windows OS past windows 7. I bought this with the plan to immediate replace the HD with an M.2 SSD which really brought this laptop to life. Yes it is no gaming PC but it's fine for my intermediate usage. The Core i5 and 12 gb ram really help push this thing. My only complaint is the contrast between the keys and the printed symbols on the keys. In certain light and/or reflections it can be difficult to read. For this and the fact that it did not come with an SSD I took away one star. I will note that I tried it with a SATA 2.5" ssd and it also performed well. I will recommend this but ONLY if you plan on upgrading the HD to an SSD. I am luck that I can do it myself, so all it cost me is $50 for a non-gaming 1TB ssd.

For the Sale-Price of $399 apiece, Nice Laptop with large 17" Screen & 10th Gen Intel-i5 Quad-Core Processor, with 12 GB of Memory for decent performance.. In fact, I bought 2 of these Laptops, one for my wife and one for myself.. Couple of minor "downside" issues.. First, the Hard Drive is a Mechanical 1-TB HDD, spinning at 5400 RPM's, Quite Slow.. And the "Light Grey" Alpha-Numeric Characters embossed on the Silver Grey Keyboard are difficult to see.. However, with the Sale-Price being so low, I ordered two "1-TB NVMe SSD's" for the Laptops for only $90 apiece.. Cloned the HDD's over to SSD's which Improved the performance Immensely.. Overall, quite impressed with this Laptop (after adding SSD) and would highly recommend, especially when they are on Sale!!

    1. Battery, even at power setting doesn't last more than 2 hours. 2. Sound is very low 3. Extremely slow to boot up. 4. Keyboard lettering is close in color to the keys, making them hard to identify. I could have survived with all the above, (1)kept it plugged in,(2) didn't purchase it to watch movies/listen to music/(3) patience is a virtue/(4) can touch type What really tipped it over into "worst laptop/pc purchase ever" is, Less than 4 months after purchase, keyboard became unresponsive. Updated Driver. Uninstalled/Reinstalled Driver, Reset to factory setting...still no keyboard function. I have spent more time attempting to solve the issues, than I have using the laptop (No exaggeration!). The only positive note is the screen is bright and large

So I have had this laptop for pver 3 years and it has been a good one for me and my family. I bought it for my son for his school work and projects. It has done its job. I recently updated the RAM and the hard drive as it was beginning to act slow. I installed a 32GB DDR4 RAM and a 1TB SATA Harddrive and this laptop is like new again. If you have this laptop just install a new ram and ssd harddrive and this laptop will be new again. This laptop will last me a good time.

I bought this computer for simple work use but wanted a big screen and something that was speedy. This claims to have the same internals as my HP of the same size, but it takes a lot longer to boot up every day and tends to lag at times. Otherwise, it does the trick for being cheaper.

Aside from the obvious weight and bulkiness you get from this large of a laptop, the battery life sucked snowballs. Also, my mouse disappeared all of a sudden and it took me a while to adjust the settings... super puzzling. And this is just from the start so it wasn't because I had "too many files or apps" on the hard drive.

It's an ok computer.....DO NOT TAKE OFF THE S MODE if that's what it's called. I immediately did this and my computer is kinda of slow so I'm assuming it's because of this. Not unbearably slow but still slower than I would like it to be considering I've had it for less than a year. NOT A GAMING CPU.....this thing is strictly for web browsing and streaming, very light gaming capability so no call of duty lol. Big screen is OK. ALL in all does what it's supposed to do and also the battery is TRASH. If I have this thing off the charger literally for an hour this thing will be somewhere below 50 percent and I bought mines brand new. So definitely keep charger on hand, I basically treat mines like it's a desktop and KEEP it plugged in for home use only
