I got it as a potential backup if my desktop, now over 6 years old, goes out unexpectedly. I am very pleased with thus far. My only concern is that the Best Buy associate said it would probably last only 2-3 years.

The keyboard makes it easy to type on and it has some nice features. Got to get use to having a Windows 11 and the amount of space is excellent. This laptop doesn’t run that slow; perhaps most computers run slow, but this is not so bad once you get use to using it. This is a great buy.

We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience if you are experiencing slow system speed or performance issue with the laptop.
If a recent Windows update was downloaded and installed, and are being applied in the System Registry, the laptop will boot up longer than normal. Once Windows is up to date, bootup time will be faster and this will maintain optimum system stability and performance.
If Windows is updated and laptop still booting up slow, please try to disable processes and services not being used in the Startup menu in the Task Manager. Also, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased Laptop on special, right off noticed extreme lag and slow performance, which is odd for a new system with specs. Checked the task manager and sure enough the the mechanical 1 TB was working at 100%. A quick google search and the issue is resolved with swapping out or adding an SSD drive. Do a search on you tube on how to open the laptop and where the SSD slot is located, a 25 dollar 256 SSD is enough to clone the OS over to it. You can use Macrium Reflect free version to do the actual clone its a few clicks. Make sure to disable the Toshiba HDD on the Bios f2+power button (boot sequence). The first boot will be slow but you'll see the speed difference after a boot or two. The boot goes from a minute or two, to seconds..... you can always have somebody do this for you if your not confident in doing it yourself... hope this helps.
