We certainly understand your concern regarding the short battery life. The battery life is approximately 7 hours of light to medium workload. In order to improve or prolong the battery life, please try to do a battery calibration manually. To start with, please drain it completely then charge it fully without using the system. Once fully-charged, please use it, without the AC adapter connected, and drain it completely again. Please repeat the charging process thereafter. Also, please verify if the unit is running with the most current system update and third-party battery draining applications are not running if not in used. The housing is made of a high quality plastic. It is the same standard material being used widely today in the industry.
