There's a possibility that there are background apps and Windows updates causing the unit to perform as it does. What we've observed with the Windows 10 operating system is that once the unit is not being used all background and installed apps including Windows updates will fire up. 1. Unplug the charger
2. Press and hold the power button for 1 full minute
3. Plug in only the charger and start up normally

Didnt work out of the box junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got home powered on can only get a setup screen and it will not let you do anything on it no one could help over the phone now i get to waste another trip to the store to have a brand new out of the box computer fixed and almost guarantee there wont be another laptop to replace it so will have to wait another day or just get a refund i do not recommend

stay AWAY from this laptop

We do understand your disappointment if you are experiencing slow system speed or performance issue with the laptop.
Certainly, video streaming through YouTube channels is smooth without issues with the laptop. The speed or performance issue is temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service. Also, laptop will do several system reboot, black screen temporarily or restart during the update process. Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. If these steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/. While accessing web applications, please ensure the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will definitely affect system speed and performance.
