Great and durable laptop, it does the job write. The screen size is amazing, the processor has been suffice, only downfall I see is it not having a keyboard light, but for the price this laptop is great, compared to my Samsung galaxy book 4 which is double the price, smaller screen size and more fragile, this one def out beats it.

Replaced my 8 year old 15" laptop that started with Windows 8 and as Windows upgraded to 10 was highest it could work on. ASUS - Vivobook 17" FHD Laptop - Intel Core i3-1215U with 8GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Quiet Blue has been awesome experience. The larger screen, full access to Windows 11 Home without having to remove the "S" restrictions, very quick start-up. No regrets having bought the ASUS brand and Best Buys special price on Black Friday made this a real bargain. Even having to pay full price would have been well worth buying for improvements. Downside is all new laptops have removed the disc drive, ethernet system and mechanical hard drive. However the electronic hard drive works perfectly and didn't brake the bank buying the ASUS disc drive to enable loading of my disc programs. I do wish the 1-year parts and labor manufacture's warranty was at least twice the time. If your looking for an affordable laptop buy the ASUS laptop brands and don't get stuck on major brand names.

Nice beautiful All-Can-Do laptop

I give it 5-star because of the price. I paid less than $300 for this 24GB RAM (8+16) computer. Another reason for the 5-star is there is an empty slot for one additional RAM and no existing RAM needs to be removed. The third reason for the 5-star is the nice big 17.3" 1080 screen for the price. Lastly, it was also easy to replace the MediaTek WiFi card with the RealTek card because MediaTek does not work for Linux. Due to I used the BestBuy 5% cashback to buy the 16GB RAM, I literary spent about $300 for this all-can-do nice laptop. Even though, there is no keyboard light and the charging light indicator is on the another side of the charging plug.

Great 17" laptop. Screen clarity and refresh rate are very good (test with few games). 8GB memory and processor speed are good for daily routines. Product is value for money.

I got my 17.3" Asus VivoBook Laptop on Black Friday. It came with an Intel I Core I3 12th generation, 8 GB of SODIMM RAM, and 512 GB SSD. The machine can be upgraded to 40GB, and I am waiting for the extra memory to arrive. The machine is very light, well built for its weight, and is fast enough for what I want. I run some Embroidery Editing software programs at the same time without any glitches, switching between them with no problems, and without getting hot. The screen is very clear and large. The keyboard is very tactile and I have no problems with it at all, but it is not backlighted. The only thing is that the battery is small and only lasts 2-3 hours, but that is OK with me coz I maintain it connected to the outlet. ASUS have been my brand since 1999, and they work until they die, even during harsh conditions, hope the same with this one to last me for at least 8-10 years.

Regular Person Un-Techy Review

Before I begin, I'm highly intelligent, but this is going to be the most un-techy review on here because I'm a regular person who uses computers for regular stuff. I don't know what the processors do and don't care as long as they show up for work.
I had to buy this computer under duress, as my MacBook became obsolete and out of the blue my browsers wouldn't work because I couldn't update to mac11. And my money was funny and this was on sale. Anyway...
I haven't used a Windows-based computer in about 10 years, but that's not my issue with this particular computer (it's like riding a bike, it came back instantly). First the nice things:
-The screen size is excellent.
-I love the font on the keyboard.
-I've missed having number keys to the side, so that's nice.
-Te sound is good enough for regular stuff.
-It has preset screen configurations to help you set up your open items at different sizes, like you can have a big rectangular browser and two smaller rectangular apps nicely for across the large screen. It's convenient if you're into that kind of thing.
-Free screen has nice colors.
-It starts EXTREMELY fast. It's practically instantly. I press the on button and 3 seconds later I'm at my lock screen.
Now, this computer irks my personal nerves. What annoys me may not bother anyone else, but here's the real deal.
-WHY WOULD ANYONE MAKE AN UNLIT KEYBOARD??? I thought it wouldn't be THAT big of a deal because I know how to type. Newsflash, it IS that big of a deal. I'm a "vampire" and only turn on lights when absolutely necessary, so this becomes problematic. As large as the screen is, the keyboard takes up the ENTIRE space. There's no room for error. This annoys me MUCH more than I thought it would.
-So about the keyboard configuration. While I love having the number keys, they're so close to the Qwerty that I hit the Num Lock key trying to backspace several times a day. Then, that made the track pad off center over the qwerty only, so I have to almost angle the laptop to function right.
-HIS TRACK PAD IS HUGE. It's entirely too big for normal use. I don't know what kind of other purposes it serves, but it's unnecessarily large. I'm used to clicking anywhere on the track pad to make it click, but since it's Windows, if I click and it's too close to the right side (I'm mostly right handed) it pulls up the right-click menu (as a reminder, I've been on a Mac for a decade). I have to consciously move further to the left than is natural to use the track pad effectively, and I have large hands. That sounds minor, but it greatly affects the functionality of everything because if I'm trying to click on something or zoom or whatever, the computer does other actions because of my hand placement on the football field sized pad and it affects my overall functionality.....and annoyance level.
-He battery life is kinda raggedy. It will not last all day. Not even half a day, and I'm not even doing heavy duty stuff. This is not a laptop you can charge and travel with.
-The computer itself is very flimsy. You can press into the top and the bottom. If you drop it or accidentally sit something on top of it, you're screwed. If it's not sitting flat on a table or desk, it won't work right because it almost bends inside and the keys won't press right (found that out the other day).
That's all I can think of right this minute. It does get the job done....with some frustration and colorful language.

A basic laptop, but love that the 17” configuration is back, seemed this was cer difficult to find just a few years ago. Plenty of storage, RAM and the processor has enough power for easy-medium tasks.

Replaced my 8 year old Asus with this one and the difference is night and day. I usually only use it for basic computing as well as surfing the net. This laptop is very fast and lightweight. I connect it to an external monitor so that I can use the dual monitor set up and it’s perfect for all my applications. The only issue that I have is that there is no SDHC card input reader so I had to use my old Asus to reformat a card that I use in my surveillance cameras. I’ll have to purchase an external card reader to perform these tasks in the future. Overall a nice laptop for the price. I purchased it on a Daily Flash sale. Well worth the price.

I wasn't expecting much being an i3 processor but today's i3 processor is not the same as yesterday's. It is much quicker and with the nvme ssd, it loads up pretty quick. The wifi card is also quick and surfing and watching videos is no problem. I did notice that its memory gets used up most of the time so I added additional memory of 8 gigs. The initial 8 gig memory is part of the motherboard, so there's an extra empty slot for extra memory. The 17" screen and being thinner was what we wanted and this was perfect. The only bad experience I had was the initial use and start of the laptop. It took almost an hour to get it up and running. I don't understand why I couldn't just start using it while it was updating in the background. The keys are ok but could be better. They feel a little light and hollow (best way I can describe it). I prefer the feel of gaming laptop keys. Other than that, it's been a great basic laptop for surfing and watching videos.

This is a budget friendly laptop under $300. For a 17 inch display, Core i-3 processor, and 512 GB SSD at this price, this computer deserves a rating of 4+ stars to begin with. My first impression of the packaging and PC itself was less than impressive. They look like a low price laptop should be, period. After unpacking, I was so impressed by its speed when it was turned on for the first time. The display is so crisp. The CPU runs quietly even at full throttle. The 8 GB RAM on board works just fine, though I wished it came with more RAM. This is a perfect laptop for web browsing, spreadsheets, word editings, and zoom.

This Asus laptop is very good and works the way I want.
It is fast and easy to use. The pictures are great and really show up clear and enjoyable to watch. All in all this is a very laptop to use and would recommend to any who wants by this model. The price out the was $339 plus the sales tax which came to $389 total and was on sale and normally for $529 This is a great value for a great name brand laptop.
