Good specs and performance but terrible track pad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually really liked this computer, the keyboard is nice, the screen is good, boots quick, barely any bloatware. But after using for a few weeks I had numerous problems. The trackpad would occasionally (4-5 times in my ownership) just stop responding or randomly click all over the screen and scroll up and down. Also, one time when I pushed the lid open the front plastic where the screen is separated from the top and I had to snap it back together. So I did not trust the build quality of this, even if mine was possibly defective, I ended up exchanging for another machine.

Please install cumulative WINDOWS Update periodically In order to maintain the touchpad responsiveness and system stability. If you are accessing web applications, please verify if the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will affect the responsiveness of the touchpad. Also, try updating the ASUS Smart Gesture utility and try to configure the touchpad within the application. Very fast laptop

I know they are trying to make everything thinner but there are thin DVDS out now as well. Everything is going to download. Physical media is almost obsolete. Anyway the ksotop is real fast with the SSD. If you need more storage you can always throw in a 256GB USB 3.1 flash drive which makes this laptop a good purchase for the price. Hinges see built well. I always open my laptops from center, never from corners.

The battery lasts all day, and it is extremely quiet even when running videos. My only issue is it is hard to open one handed, the bottom wants to just stay up with the screen. Other that that I am very satisfied.

Overall, it keeps up well and does everything I need it to. It’s very light and the SSD is much quicker than an HDD. 4 stars because the track pad is a little too touchy and sensitive.
