Slightly confusing interface compared to other sound software. Excellent amplification and clarity compared to realtek hd audio. For the price it was a good buy.

Dedicated audio cards are quickly being phased out by the rapidly improving integrated audio on modern motherboards and thus, unfortunately, this is no longer in stock, similarly to many other audio cards from its era. Older boards, however, can still take great advantage of audio cards. I bought this card about a year ago as a substitute for the abysmal onboard audio on my now-ancient Z97 motherboard. Going in expecting little from a $45 card, I set it up, plugged my headphones in for some testing and... wow. I had gone through several headsets on previous occasions, believing that the empty audio and scratchy mic were the fault of the headset itself, but after plugging into this card, all my audio problems were solved. Highs were high, lows existed, my mic was clear and audible. The improvement was so huge over my integrated audio. My only complaint is that the topside of the board is entirely exposed, making it easy to either cut yourself or damage it with mishandling, but once it's in, it faces down on a standard-oriented board, so it isn't that big of a deal. This review may seem pointless because of the aforementioned phase-out of dedicated audio cards, but I wanted to share my opinion about this great product regardless. As an extra tidbit, I have never had a bad experience with any ASUS product over many moons of tinkering with devices. Well done.

I am using this as a monitor and tv. It will allow me to stream stuff from my phone which is fantastic.

Was using the sound connection that came with the Asus board, when that went out purchased this Asus sound card. Dropped it right in tailor it to my likes and no problems. Very easy.

Great card and easy to install and setup Using this with an old altec 5.1 system and it sounds awesome

This is a great sound card for 5.1 surround sound. It is go for moves, tv shows, and games.

Needed this for my 5.1 sound system. This sounds great.

Great if you just need to replace a broken sound device or a general upgrade from most on-board audio.

When i play my games on my pc the sound is amazing sound i can hear everything now

This is what most people would call a cheap card. It may be that but it gets the job done. I have a tritton pro+ headset with the tritton ax pro's analog adapter (same plug) and it uses usb for power and I HIGHLY suggest an external USB adapter from a phone charger to prevent the grounds being common and making a loud buzzing sound.

This sound card does everything it says it does, it was easy to set up. Sounds great!

Have been buying and using ASUS DG cards for years and they still provide the best rocking sound of all. This was my first DGX card since the old PCI cards don't work on most newer boards but they still provide the smaller PCI slot. These are no different in sound quality than the older models and still rock on. Can't go wrong with these if you want some great computer sound!

I needed a new sound card as the new computer I bought did not have 5.1 which was needed for my current speaker setup. It took a little bit to get it to register on all programs but it now works on everything. This is a cheap effective option if you need/want 5.1 surround sound on your computer.

I purchased this after the MB sound chip failed to work on a recent Gaming Rig I built. It went in quick and works like a charm. It's been installed for over 3 months with no issues I'm very pleased

I bought this sound card to replace the on-board audio on my new computer. Great choice! The price was right, the installation was easy and the quality is topnotch!

I ended up returning the card and exchanging it but the new card worked perfectly.

Have not been able to get HP support to assist in the installation of driver compatible with Windows 10. Have previously been on the phone with Microsoft support.
