I like everything about this laptop EXCEPT the keyboard backlight. The light is really really dim and just turns on and off on it's own, which makes the keys hard to see because its gray on gray. I've spent a ton of time online trying to fix the light issue but nothing works. I also installed The Sims on it , just one game, and the laptop gets really hot and the fan gets really loud.

This thing is a great laptop if you don’t plan on actually typing on it. Why? Because the keys are impossible to see. The grey color and letter paint is a horrible contrast. I don’t look at the keyboard when I type, but every once in a while I look at the keys to type. Otherwise the laptop is fast and small. Would be fine if you connect to a docking station and separate keyboard.

First of all the build quality it very similar to my MacBook Pro. Love that. The face unlock is pretty decent as well. I can even do light gaming on here! The value is good to me. Only complaint is that the keyboard is a little mushy in my opinion. Overall though 10/10

Like the weight, size, good screen clarity, and it's quick. The keyboard is hard to read at times depending on the room lighting. It has also gone to a black screen and had to power down a few times to get it off the black screen. Fan seems to run more often then I thought it would. Still, overall I have liked the laptop and it was a good value.

I was surprised at how light this laptop is. It is pretty fast, and has been great for playing Civ VI online with friends. When playing games, the battery life is short, so it needs to be plugged in. I was a little disappointed with how short the charging cable is, I have to use an extension cord/power strip to charge when using the laptop on the couch. The keyboard is very comfortable. I would highly recommend a mouse instead of using the touchpad unless you are very comfortable with windows gesture, since there are no left and right buttons for the touchpad. Overall, I really like this laptop and would recommend it for folks looking for something easy to carry around and/or play some less demanding games.

Finding myself working from home during the crisis of 2020, I felt it was time to get a pc that could be dedicated specifically for that purpose. A longtime Mac person, I decided to purchase my very first PC laptop to separate the business end of things from the creative, and I am happy that I found this extremely affordable, high-powered, light and modern machine that fits in nicely amongst its Apple cousins. The screen is crisp, it comes loaded with enough essentials, and it was extremely easy to use. The only downsides I have experienced so far have been the backlit keyboard -- The lighting is so dim, you can't make out the keys in any lighting. After a Windows update, I had an issue with the video camera (which was resolved in a subsequent update). And I also found that it did not support a USBC dongle I wanted to use to hook it up to a monitor (this is done through HDMI). I love the light portability of it, and it seems sturdy enough for everyday use. I found out it has gone on sporadic sale throughout the year, so I would heartily recommend a the below 500 range, if you find it. As I mentioned, PC specs are new to me, but upon research, it seems it comes with all the necessary bells and whistles.

Pros: Good processor, I haven't had any lagging yet. Does not feel cheap. Camera and audio are good, no issues with video conferencing. Cons Keyboard color. Even though the keys light up the color is so similar to the keys it is had to see them. Keyboard intermittently stops working. I am waiting for a response from ASUS support. I think it is a driver or other software issue. If I reboot the problem goes away. I new I could upgrade the ram going in, but I am rethinking my thoughts on this. It is always better to be able to upgrade a laptops ram.. Bluf Not a bad computer for the price I paid.

For this price it's just hard to warrant anything else. It's lighter and arguable more compact than a macbook air, with better specs, and a discrete GPU. I haven't noticed it get too hot or loud, even when gaming (the top gets a little but it vents out toward the screen instead of the side which is a good thing). The design is nice, and a little unique though nothing crazy. I do like how it doesn't have a big hump on the bottom or top of the screen like most other ultrabooks, which makes it even more compact. The screen is great, viewing angles aren't an issue. Battery life seems to get good enough to 7 or so hours with normal use from what I can tell. The only real negatives are the keyboard color and backlighting choice are obviously a poor decision, though nothing crazy for anyone who can type half decently. The keys feel nice, but a little stiff I suppose, and some of the keys are a bit smaller and will take time to get used to the layout. The trackpad seems to work decently though doesn't seem like the best. I really really wish it had USB-C charging, but that's also not a deal breaker. It's really really hard to be mad at anything for this price point and the quality got.

This device handled the basic everyday task like a pro considering the size this little dog here has some BYTE! Cringe tech puns aside this is a sleek quality feeling notebook and it surprised me how well it handled games. I did end up returning this because I came across options for $20 to $50 more with so much more gaming power + VR support. I have to say this device is better looking than the other budget gaming laptops but was the only one in stock so admittedly and without shame I gave in to my impulsive behavior… If you don’t care about graphic hungry games or VR then this laptop is honestly perfect! I would recommend this to the budget gamer & as a perfect gift to youngest gamer of the family FOR-SURE! *** make sure you update the graphics card driver from the GeForce app or website for an improved gaming experience. Trust me.

So far I have almost no complaints with this laptop. I was able to snag it on sale for $550 and have no regrets. The screen is probably the main attraction with it being IPS and 300 nits, as well as having 100% srgb coverage it’s a really great screen. I got this for school work and light photo edition which this is handling great. Having the dedicated nvidia gpu in here is also a blessing in disguise that allows me to play very light titles like valorant csgo and Brawlhalla. And since the gpu is dedicated it won’t take away from the only 8gb of ram you have. Which leads me to my only gripe of this laptop, which is non upgradable memory, since it’s soldered you cant upgrade it if that is your thing. Overall very happy with my purchase.

I love my new Zenbook. I was deciding between a chromebook or a laptop, I'm so glad I bought this laptop. It's very fast, responsive, battery life is amazing. Lightweight, the screen is amazing, matte screen which makes it perfect to use it outdoors. Love it, I don't regret buying it.

Great performance! I love it! I appreciate my son choosing this product! But The only thing I would change is the backspace key when I try pressing the backspace key I keep on pressing the home button. Another thing is the lighting on the keyboard a little bit hard to see so maybe a little bit brighter.

Performance: The Ryzen 5 CPU is extremely fast and runs relatively cool with fan noise not being noticeable. No noticeable thermal throttling has been detected. The Nvidia MX350 is good for light gaming such as Minecraft and CS:GO and gets the job done on an ultrabook. The only thing to be aware of is to absolutely make sure 8GB of RAM is enough for you. Windows Hello makes sign-in a breeze and the webcam while not amazing, it gets the job done. Display: Not terrible. The colors are accurate which is a huge plus compared to its rivals however the laptop is mostly only useable at max brightness. Battery: I can continuously get 8 plus hours and have no issues here whatsoever. Keyboard: The typing experience and feedback are quite good however for those who aren't touch typists the backlighting will bother you. The white LEDs against the silver keys provide literal contrast, making the legends hard to read. Build: The exterior and deck are solid with minimal flex. The display as well shows no sign of worrisome flexing.

This computer is really good lightweight. Great Key touch. It’s solid state and very reliable. On the downside I did not research enough to know that it didn’t have a separate keypad for numbers which I use all the time and the gray lettering on the gray keys does make it hard to see at certain angles

I bought this laptop while on sale and have used it for roughly 1.5 months. It is pretty good for light/moderate usage (checking email, browsing Youtube, etc). Compared to my last (much more expensive) laptop, I like how solidly built it is. In the first week of use I did run into an issue where sound stopped coming out of the speakers, but for whatever reason, attempting to reinstall Windows to take it back to the store for an exchange resolved it. For things like Discord calls with screen sharing, it does struggle a bit with the CPU maxing out and RAM usage at an all time high. As a light user, I do not really run into loud fan issues nor overheating issues, which is always a plus. The warmest it's ever gotten was during the aforementioned Discord calls and while playing casual moba games. Disclaimer - I've become someone who regularly shuts down their laptop for the day, which I think immensely helps. The screen also runs quite bright at max brightness, I've noticed a lot of business-type laptops tend to look very dull despite being plugged in so this is another plus. The downside is that once it is unplugged, the contrast takes a nosedive and everything becomes washed out. I have not looked close enough to see if this is a power saving setting. If you're looking for a laptop with a well lit keyboard, this is not the one. I usually find myself staring at the lights under the F row and generally cannot read any of the labels. Lastly, I recommend taking the advice of the other reviewer and take advantage of the preinstalled audio equalizer app, even with the app's presets the difference is like listening to sounds coming from a closet and not.

I am still learning to navigate on my new computer. I can't really see the Keys as well as I would like, but I love the size and weight of it. The sales people were extremely helpful and very knowledge; would recommend the "geek squad"!! I will soon turn 75 and they were very respectful to me.

Very zippy. Good for games if you are casual. Beautiful design. Solid construction. I worked 8 hours a day with this laptop at my office WITHOUT bringing the charger to work and it pulled it off for about a month and a half so far (I'm assuming there will come a time when I cant get through a work day).

I wanted a laptop that I could use to stare at spreadsheets for 8 hours a day. I am incredibly miserable, but the laptop functions well. It can play most GTA V on medium-high settings at 60fps, which is pretty insane for a laptop at this price, assuming you get it for the $550 deal.

Great product for the price! It was on sale at Best Buy for $200 off. Love the size and non-integrated GPU. So far, it’s met my expectations as far as performance and durability. So good I bought one for the wife. About the only thing I’m missing is a touch screen.
