Great little laptop. Very snappy and light weight. Dropped a star because would like letters/numbers to be a lighter color than dark grey on medium grey which is occasionally hard to see. But that is personel preference. Getting 10 hours battery life under normal load.

I really like the size and weight, the 14" screen is edge to edge, full 1080p and can get bright! It weighs about 2.5 pounds. No lag, Ryzen 5 seems peppy, NVidia GT350 graphics card is good. Sale price was a bargain! Now the cons: It is a little hard to see the keys at times, they get grayed out once in a while. Micro sd card slot instead of full size. It plays games, like Xbox Game Pass games pretty well, but the bottom panel gets very hot while doing so. Only during games. And last, the camera is pretty fuzzy, even tho 720p. I like the front firing speakers, but the sound is pretty weak. I'm keeping it to watch movies with headphones (great picture!) and for fast day to day internet use. 3 stars.

Lightweight, Small, Fast, and works great. My wife loves it as her daily work PC. Only issue is that if you put it in sleep mode and then bring it back on sometimes it will run the fan at 100% until you restart the pc. Screen is good, keyboard feels nice.

the screen on this laptop and the CPU are the standouts for this machine. the lighter color keys are not something I am a fan of but the keyboard feel itself is very nice. at 550$ on sale this is really the best you can get in this price range. I should have bought 2!!

So far I'm really liking this laptop, it was well worth the money and I needed a new one badly. Everything works pretty well and I've been using it a lot for gaming and school. I try not to download more than 4 or 5 games at a time just because I'm cautious and they all run well. Sometimes the fan doesn't chill out after I close out of a game and I shut it down for a minute so it's not overworking itself, but that's an easy fix so far. I will say that I don't like all of the extra functions on the keyboard because I at one point must have hit F10 and turned off my camera and for about a week or two I could not figure out why my camera wasn't working. I couldn't even turn it back on through settings, I had to press F10 to turn it back on. Other than that though, I do like this laptop, it's pretty versatile in it's functions, lightweight, and (so far) pretty durable.

I purchase this laptop to use while my other one was getting fixed. I am pleasantly surprised with this laptop. It is much faster than my other one being fixed that i pushed 7 months ago. Even after getting my more expensive laptop back, i still prefer to use this one because of the speed, it's smaller and much more lightweight than my other HP laptop.

This is the first review I've given, and I wanted to do so to reiterate what folks have said before me. This thing's fan howlsss. When you turn this thing on, it's either completely silent and amazing, or it sounds like the laptops about to take off. There's not anything that I found online as far as a long term fix - like countless others experiencing this problem, yours likely will too. My solution is to power the device off completely and then turn it back on, which works most of the time. Some have suggested to turn off high-CPU intensive start up programs, but this happened fresh out of the box. Otherwise, it's a fantastic laptop and really is a great value. If you pick it up on sale, it's probably worth it. Otherwise, the fan feature is really quite annoying and it's up to you as to whether you can handle that.

So far I love my new Asus Zenbook! I am still getting used to the differences from my old laptop; the major difference is there is no number pad to the right side -- I need to "remember" how to type numbers across the top. My Zenbook is faster than my old (7 years old) laptop and much lighter. It's so easy to just pick it up and carry it elsewhere.

This laptop is almost perfect. Got it on Black Friday sale. Light weight. Superb LED display. Super fast processor and SSD. Very nice battery. The only drawback will be the keyboard. The alphabets are difficult to see without the backlight.

The laptop is functioning better than expected. It's my first Asus laptop and I'm not too disappointed. Games that work really well were Fortnite, Warframe, and Overwatch. Warzone plays alright at the lowest setting but doesn't lag. Turning it on and Windows Hello is pretty fast. The only con I can think of is the fan noise. After gaming (and sometimes just browsing) the fan continues to run for some reason. So far I haven't found a workaround it other than restarting the laptop.

I use my ASUS almost everyday for work and it is great! The battery life is good and the loading times are fairly short, of course depending on your internet. The only downside I have experienced is the fan in the computer can be a bit loud.

At first, the laptop was great. It has all the features I wanted in a daily use laptop. I use the laptop for web use, office. It's compact in size, keyboard is great, adjustable back lit keyboard is a plus, mouse pad works well with no delays or issues. Speakers are what you would expect for a small laptop, nothing extraordinary. It has an Asus program which allows you to set battery capacity to full charge, 80% or 60%. This comes in handy when preserving the overall life of the battery. Battery life is ok, 8+ hours on full charge. The only gripe I have is the CPU fan. For some strange reason, when waking the laptop from sleep, 2/8 times, the CPU fans will blow at full speeds. This isn't due to excessive heat. This will even happen after the laptop is in sleep mode for 10+hours, with the laptop cool to the touch. There's no rhyme or reason as to why the fans blow at full speeds. I've unplugged the computer and left it plugged charged at only 80% capacity. Both ways, the issue still occurs. I tried every update provided by Asus however it does not resolve the issue. The only way to resolve the issue is to do a complete shutdown, wait a couple seconds, then start the computer. A restart from windows doesn't work either and placing the computer in sleep for an extended period of time doesn't work. The build is good. The screen isn't perfect, but then again, I'm not paying MB Pro prices. When it says "Military Grade", it makes me laugh since Military Grade does not mean the greatest quality. I digress, it's still a decent built laptop. Owned the laptop for almost 2 months and I still have the issue with the fans.

      Dear William,

Indeed, the laptop is a great product.

Do understand your concern about the fan noise. It is normal for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal when the laptop wakes up from a sleep mode since all processes and services, including the fan, will auto-start.

Also, the fan noise will be louder while Windows Update or antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. Please make sure the system was not compromise by viruses or malware. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decreases or normalizes once utilization goes down.

Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I will be more than happy to help. Or, call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

After owning a Macbook for many years, I decided to switch to a PC and I am glad I did. I have been so impressed with its simplicity and great features that my Macbook was lacking. I use it primarily for online school and web browsing, but handles the occasional game really well. I am taking one star off because of the fan. Typically after prolonged use (or sometimes not) the fan will switch on and it is extremely loud. I know computers need to cool down and the fan is important but this is like audible in another room, almost distracting loud and it doesn't stop until the computer is shut off. This is bearable for me because I'm currently mostly using it at home, but if it started making that noise at a co-working space or a lecture hall I would be worried that it was bothering others.

Good computer. Has it’s flaws. I use it for light cad work, spreadsheets, and web surfing mostly. Keyboard seems to not want to work occasionally on wake-up. Needs to be restarted to fix it. I dislike the power button as a regular key. Very annoying to bump power when trying to delete. The power cord is pretty crappy. Not sure why it’s not USB C. But overall still a solid computer with 2gb dedicated graphics for a great price. No complaints with Ryzen not keeping up.

Nice lightweight and fast. No problems so far. Only complaint is that sometimes the keyboard letters are hard to see since it's a white on silver colorway, which does not contrast as much as I'd like.

Perfect little machine for my kid’s virtual schooling on-the-go. It’s fast and does it all as expected. One detail that bothers me a little: the color of letters/numbers on the keyboard that blends way too well into the color of the machine, making it a little challenge to see it all, even with the backlight. But still worth it!
