Customers are positive about the lightweight, price, battery life, and performance of the Zenbook 14" Laptop. They appreciate its portability, affordability, long battery life, and ability to handle daily tasks and simple gaming. However, customers are negative about the keyboard, fan noise, soldered RAM, heating issues, and key visibility. Nod bad for a mid range laptop

Was looking for a budget mid range laptop and this Asus checks out most things I wanted. Only gripe is the backlight keypad can be hard to read in daylight. They should have darken the letters for easy to read but that shouldnt be a hold back point to not buy this laptop if price is in mid $500.

Love this computer. We replaced another well known brand with this one and this one is so much faster and easy to use. We purchased it for distant learning and my 5th grader navigates it with no problem. Very happy!

Great product at great price. Light and great battery life for my usage. I mostly use it for office work, light web browsing, and some videos. I have not really measured battery life but roughly about 7 hrs with my daily usage. Got it for $450 during a best buy sale. For that price, this is very good.

The metal of this laptop is darker in color than the image. It's also more rectangular than it appears.
It feels good.
A fan starts running sometimes when I first open the laptop when it has been sitting on it's side, vertically resting against the sofa with the vents angled out - totally free from obstruction and cool to the touch. I shut it down and manually restart to stop this.
There have been a few times when the prompt for my PIN won't appear.
Sometimes when I open the laptop it has powered off (when there is plenty of battery.) I just turn it on again.
I haven't contacted anyone about these issues. I don't know if it's software or hardware related.
All in all, still a nice laptop.

This is my third Asus laptop (other two lasted 7 years each). As far as quality, it's what I'd expect from an Asus. The only problem I have with it is the keyboard lighting is too dim even when set on bright. I've had to set it at an angle and even then still need a light on it. This is not a problem I had with my two Asus Republic of Gamers. Their keyboards were plenty bright enough to even use in the dark.

This is a great little machine given my use case. I'm not a gamer so 'leading curve' components aren't required. This machine provides 'at the curve' components for the price point. Do I wish it had more RAM, yes. But, it is not upgradeable. Storage is upgradeable, if needed in the future. Screen is bright enough as I do not plan on using it outdoors. Size is perfect for me. I/O are sufficient since I can connect an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately, it has a proprietary power source connection (no USB-C), but, the battery life is more than acceptable. All in all, this is a good value given components and performance and the price point.

The pros:
Lightweight, portable
Very fast
Screen resolution is sharp.
The cons:
Webcam is simply awful. Since I'm taking online classes and need to show my face, I'll have to purchase a separate webcam. I know this computer isn't the most expensive laptop on the market, but the webcam is worse than the one on my $180 Chromebook.
Fan can get really loud. I'm not sure how to adjust that, so I have to power the laptop on and off to make it stop.
Keyboard letters are difficult to see. The keyboard backlight washes out the gray lettering.

I just needed this for everyday use but not like serious use: serval tabs at the same time, youtube, spotify, the occasional racing game. They all held up nice. I’ve only had to restart it due to small bugs twice and it was back to normal. At first the fan was too loud but after some updates it’s fine. you can adjust the loudness but i think that caused my restart problems. would recommend!!

I love this laptop! The MX350 is powerful enough for moderate gaming. Ryzen 5 is quick and smooth. I like the matte finish screen, and the face recognition unlock is habit-forming. The machine is very lightweight and thin, about the size of a legal pad portfolio, but the build quality is excellent. Track pad and keys work well and feel great. I purchased an Asus TUF for comparison, and this little Zenbook held its own with everything except minor sharpness in the graphics. The only con is have is the keyboard backlights arehard to see due to light under white letters. The screen is dimmer than some computers, which others may see as a con, but I actually like it.

Great laptop for the money. Capable of light gaming with its GPU. Form factor is nice with a 14" screen and small bezels. Keyboard layout is slightly annoying with the row of keys on the right. You may want to disable the power button from doing anything other than powering it on. Backlit keyboard isn't the greatest; it needs to be enabled or disabled depending on the light in the room, unlike some other keyboards on which it can always be kept on and still be visible. Fan sometimes maxes out when waking from sleep, requiring a power down.

For the price these are great laptops. We purchased them for the kids to use for mainly school work. And not as gaming computers. With that said they appear to function well for online games as well. I would say for 75% of people these laptops would meet all of your needs.

I purchased this laptop to replace an aging Mac Book Air, and had a few requirements for it: It needed to be able to handle Zoom (for distance teaching), several statistics programs, and some basic gaming (Civ VI, Terraria, etc.) First, the good:
- It can definitely do all of that. I'm able to play Civ at "not the base level" graphic settings. I've never been able to do that before. and so I'm thrilled.
- It is SUPER fast. Camera works quickly and accurately for Windows Hello, and all programs run very speedily (even SPSS!)
- Keyboard is nice to type on. No problems there.
Weird Quirks:
- The keyboard light is awful. During the day, the backlit keys blend in with the rest of the keyboard, making it impossible to read.
- The fan...blows upwards. At the screen. It's strangely placed in the hinge, and has the side effect of getting the screen nice and toasty during heavy lift applications.
- The trackpad is AWFUL. Seriously. I have to use a mouse with mine.
Other than that, I highly recommend this computer. It's solidly built, has good specs, and will hopefully last awhile.

This notebook is well balanced for everyday usage in the office. It is lightweight, fast, has decent storage, and good battery life. The new Ryzen 5 4500U CPU runs very well, and the 8GB of ram should be enough for most people. It does sometimes run into issue when waking up from being asleep, but it has not happened enough to be a deal breaker. Plus, it is competitively priced, especially when it is on sale.

At sale price of 550, this laptop is the best value in its range.
This is NOT classified as a gaming laptop, but it is on par with GTX 1050 gaming laptops. The new Ryzen 4500U is a beast combined with the MX350 2GB dGPU. I can play GTA V on my lap, since it is only 2.5lbs!
This is an ultrabook meaning it’s value comes from its form factor. Light, sleek, nice screen, and ergonomic.
Cons:
Keyboard light not that clear with white keys, but not a deal breaker.
Thermals: only one fan and one heat pipe, so definitely not a gaming laptop. But I am still happy with it as a casual gamer.
