I love everything about this laptop except the keys. Great size, good display, plenty of storage, and incredibly thin and lightweight. But the grey lettering on grey keys is very hard to see, especially at oblique viewing angles. The backlighting helps some, but only in complete darkness. Otherwise it is not bright enough.

This computer is small, fast and works well for our purpose. Needed something compact and fast to browse the web. It was very simple to update and start using it right away.

I love this little laptop It's sooo light and plays random games I love online. It's not a heavy gaming laptop but it can do a casually web browser/indie game

I’ve had this laptop for a while now and very happy with how it holds a d performs as a “semi-daily driver” to replace my old workhorse that died. Only take away I can almost like without is the touchscreen, converting to tablet and the very fast DDR4 8GB of on board RAM for the discounted sale price I paid while becoming a converted strong Ryzen believer, it’s more than worth it to never go back to Intel again

I really wanted to like this and replace a seven year old Zenbook UX32A with it. However, after a few days, I returned it. Why? The keyboard! First, the keys are gray/silver and the letters are simply see-through (to let the backlight shine through). So unless you have a light source that shines straight down on your laptop (e.g. in a store, you can’t make out have half the keys are. Having light come into a room via a window from the side makes all key inscriptions “disappear”. Second, the backlight is very weak, and not uniform across the keyboard, so it makes things worse. Also while the discrete video chip comes with its own RAM (so when using it, you don’t take away from the 8 GB system memory), its performance is roughly in the same league as the processor integrated Vega graphics unit, but it consumes more power than the integrated graphics (so you’re trading RAM for runtime). See youtube videos how much that discrete graphics chip throttles down after just a few minutes of load (as the laptop only has one cooling fan for CPU and the discrete video chip). Make the keys black and remove the (useless) discrete video chip and I’ll try again.

I really like the size and ease of use of this unit. Everything worked right out of the box except I cannot figure out how to make the backlit keyboard work.

I love Asus brand laptops, but we could not use this one because the lettering and symbols on the keys are impossible to see in low light and difficult even in bright light. I purchased this for my son to do distance learning from home, but I had to return it. Even I, who can type by touch, sometimes needs to see the keys. I am sure that otherwise, the laptop is great, so I am still giving it 4 stars.

It has the size and weight of a tablet yet it can run my 3D software just as well as the higher end computers of three or four years ago. I always choose a machine with an Nvidia graphics card to allow proper display of assembly drawings. This card is as good as ones in the machine I bought for twice the price back then. I don't experience any shortcoming in this machine for the work I do. It gives great definition for sports watching on TV. For me its size is ideal for travel and daily off site situations due to battery life which is excellent. Great job ASUS!

Got this for use with an online college courses. BY far the best and fastest laptop I have owned for this price range. Very pleased with the performance.

Wow, super fast. I had to connect my second monitor with a $45 adapter (from gofanco) for usb3 to vga, but it seems that most new laptops only provide one connector for one extra-monitor.

I saw this little bugger at Best Buy at 23rd Street and the price attracted me. I decided to buy same day evening but the store closed. I woke up the following day earlier and check Best Buy near my home and it's in stock. I went there and bought one. It's pretty speedy and it's much faster than any laptop I have. Screen is really good for my taste and I don't believe the screen can be that large for the laptop size. 256GB storage is not really enough as my main laptop, so I checked video for disassembly for SSD (warning: doing such can void its warranty) and it looks rather easy. I checked many stores and hopefully I can get it ASAP, and finally I found one has 1TB NVMe 2280 in the store. Since I bought USB finger so I used it to store recovery image. You need Torx T5 screwdriver and a + screwdriver. There's 2 screws hidden in back rubber feet. Remove them and you will see them. RAM is soldered so you cannot upgrade, but 8GB dual channel is more than enough for my daily use (I am not a gamer) Keyboard is comfortable to type, but its backlight is rather useless. I'd leave the backlight off and put something reflective on top of the screen and it looks better. Audio is loud enough for watching TV, but bass isn't that much even I turn it to max, but I can use headphones for private listening USB C port is for data and digital audio only (no charging), so be aware. This laptop is much more classic style (no touchscreen nor the screen can flip backwards), but I actually prefer classic style This laptop is pretty good as basic - intermediate type. If you don't mind the shortcomings mentioned above, this is definitely your choice especially it's pretty light and easy to carry

Noisy fan and the key lights are not very bright so a little hard to see sometimes.

Got it for my grandma to do taxes/invoices on and some web browsing. Setup was simple enough, the track pad is pleasantly sensitive, and screen quality is nice. Case quality is very nice being brushed aluminum. Only complaint is the backlight on the keyboard is not bright enough and the white letters easily blend into the silver keys. Overall a pretty solid laptop!
