Excellent little tablet!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great tablet with a great picture!! I love the dual speakers. It is fast also. A little Asus bloatware is included, but it isn't too intrusive. This is a great value!

Great bang for the buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried several tablets before I decided to stick with this one. I was looking for a reasonably priced tablet and tried a Digiland Windows 10 tablet which was underpowered, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 - 7 inch which was really pretty decent, but came with only 16 GB RAM and the older version of Android. Then I came across some favorable reviews for the ASUS and gave it a try. It's really quite snappy and comes with 32GB RAM. The construction is solid, yet light. I have had this for almost 2 months and am very happy. It's great for about half the price of the iPad Mini, plus it allows for expanding the memory.

OK but get it when it's on sale
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tablet last month but returned it.. It's a very nice tablet with great screen but no accessories in sight..even on amazon trying to find a case. The battery life wasn't that good but not bad..the front speaker are not that loud as the yoga tablet but work fine. I seen it recently on sale for 150$ but I bought it for 199$.. Good thing I took it back and bought an open box Samsung Galaxy tab 2 9 inch for 100$ more.. If you can find it for 150$ its a good deal..

Great tablet, but with some new competition.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When this was purchased, it was hands down the best android tablet for the money, and still is a great tablet. The screen is great, and I don't feel the ATOM cpu is really slowing it down at all (vs past atom based tablets). I'm not a fan of the look of the Asus software on this one and prefer a more stock android look. However, if buy again today ... I have to say I would strongly consider the new Nvidia shield for its hardware specs and similar price of $199.

Nice tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tablet for my son whose Samsung tablet broke. I usually do research prior to to purchasing but I decided to look at for tablets at Best Buy. I compared them by features and price and decided I liked the Asus. My son primarily uses it for videos and web searches and he is very happy with it.The screen resolution is very good and its operating system works fast. If this is what you are looking for, I highly recommend it.

Good tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to by this as I have had good luck with Asus. I have a couple of samsungs and a apple ipad This is a very nice tablet for the money.Got it for 150 dollars, good deal for a 32 gig.Overall works well Despite being somewhat bloated with bloatware. Just disable as much as I can. Actually it looks as good as my other tablets, and runs smoother.Im not that fussy with the display. It's fine for me! Definitely recommend.

Still the Best brand by far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ASUS has been making top of the line tablets for a while now. This one is no exception. It has an incredible HD screen with plenty of internal memory (32 GB) and an SD slot to add more. In my opinion nothing can touch ASUS in overall quality on their tablets.

Great replacement for my Nexus 7
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Nexus 7 was getting slower and I needed a replacement. This is much lighter and I like the aspect ratio of the screen. Much quicker and the screen resolution is great

Perfect size and love ASUS products
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing quality and design on this tablet, great speed and graphics are really sharp. Have an ASUS PC and love their products. I ended up returning it because it did a lot of things I would never use. I'm old and not up to date on the high tech stuff. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice tablet.

Pretty good tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a cheap but good tablet, and it's exactly what I got. Not too shabby display and not much bloatware. I just wish for better battery life, with around 5-6 hours of use without running out of juice.

Premium specs, build for budget price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the ZenPad S 8 Z580C for two weeks now. It is easy to use and the performance has been great. I use it for web browsing, reading and streaming some video content and the it has been perfect for these uses. The build feels nice, and I don't really have a problem with the side buttons like some reviewers do; they feel just fine to me. The etching on the back makes it very fingerprint-proof, but since you're going to put it in a case anyway, it doesn't really make a difference. The screen is gorgeous with an amazing resolution for the pricepoint and a comfortable 4:3 aspect ratio, which is what originally drew me away from similarly-priced models with inferior specs. When auto mode is off, the screen gets plenty bright for indoor use, but as others point out, it's maximum is not the brightest out there. There have been a momentary screen flicker or two once in a while, but not enough to bother me. I have had no problems with the wi-fi whatsoever. It has picked up signal and connected without complaints in my multi-level home and at my workplace. The guts are premium at a budget price and that's all there is to it. This base model starts at 32 gigs of internal memory AND has a micro SD expansion slot- yet another selling point for me. I do not like to be limited for space since I prefer to keep my files with me rather than on the "cloud". The battery life has been more than adequate for my light to moderate daily usage. In fact, the level hardly moves at all when not in use. I have not used the camera much, but it has been easy to use when I have. Other reviewers have voiced disdain of the bloatware and the pre-installed launcher from Asus. My answer to that is... what did you expect? Unless (and even if?) it's a "Nexus" product, there will be a custom launcher and licensed apps. I find the Zen UI easy to navigate with a variety of customization options, particularly for interface/display. Most of these are intuitive to find, but my only gripe is that a few of them are difficult to interpret due to poor grammar on the part of the programmers (for example, the wording for the "do not disturb" settings is particularly confusing as to what you are and aren't allowing during various modes- probably just need to experiment a bit for myself and it will make sense). As for bloatware, there are about a page and a quarter of pre-installed apps. Don't like them? just uninstall, disable, or force stop. I find the Android experience to be overall very satisfactory, as I suspect most users will. In my opinion, the Zen UI doesn't get in the way of the Android. But, if you're an advanced user and like a "pure" experience, you may want to install your own launcher (thus the appeal of Android). This model ships with Android 5.0, which was another seller for me. By all accounts I read online, this model (the "C") will NOT be supporting the Asus Zen stylus like the ultra-premium "CA" version will. This is slightly disappointing, but when I am honest with myself, I will probably not use the stylus. A regular, cheap, capacitive stylus works just fine with this tablet. I also initially bought an Insignia brand 8" universal case (no custom options available in-store yet), which worked great, but I then switched to a slightly more streamlined custom-fit "budget" case from a major online retailer. It was cheap, fits like a glove, and uses the auto-wake feature that is built into the tab. For me, an educated consumer but not a gadget fiend, the selling points for this slate were the awesome specs and screen resolution for a budget price, and it has not disappointed.

Great cheap Android tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price this tablet is perfect. Not the best battery life, not the fastest. Does not support the z Stylus. Does have nice screen and thin form factor. Good value and a step up from the Nexus 7.

Should've been the nexus 8
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.right now I consider this my baby nexus 9! for $200 this thing is a steal. beautiful bright screen easy to hold for reading, decent size for comics but perfect for books, generous storage AND a micro SD slot which Asus added a cover to this time... there's almost nothing wrong with this tablet. without a case it's feather-light and the partial rubber back keeps the tablet from slipping while holding. speakers are surprisingly good. they're not nearly as tinny as I had expected and a bit louder, not nexus 9 good, but better than note 10.1 2014 speakers. while there are a lotta good things about the tablet, there are also a few drawbacks: no 5ghz - so if you need it then wait for the CA version with the stylus and bump in CPU and RAM. stutters a little when scrolling fast. it's not really an issue for me, but if stutters bother you then you may again wanna consider the beefier version when available. weak WiFi radio- it's possibly the weakest of all the tablets/phones I have. so if you've got a big house you may wanna think about getting a repeater... we've got three routers, rt n16, ac66u, and ubiquiti unifi and I still managed to lose signal in one spot in the house. the "best" version is just around the corner. for $100 more you can get a stylus, bumped up CPU and extra 2GB of RAM (but this one's good enough for me). i wish this tablet came out before the nexus 9. it would have saved me $400! not saying it's a nexus 9 killer, it's just that this tablet filled the need for a reader after selling my note 8. the only things I need now are root and a case! another thing, one website said this tablet can use the z stylus also. it must not be a wacom digitizer if so because my s pen and bamboo pen don't register. it's possible the z stylus will have a capacitive tip to work with this stylus... nothing afaik is confirmed yet.
