Wish I had the VTech Styling, but BETTER BUCK BANG

So, I was about to get the stylish VTech LS5145 Bluetooth phone, but at the last minute, found this one to not only be cheaper, but more feature-rich, so I pulled the trigger. After a week of extensive use, I have found this phone to be a sound investment. I love being able to pair my personal cell phone and my new unlimited-minute-plan cell with the phone at the same time and be able to name each line separately and have the phone system tell me what calls are coming from which line. Calling is a SNAP-just dial the number like you would on your cell, then hit the "Cell" button and select the cell to dial from. It's a pretty hot little phone. Drawbacks: Ok, so it isn't the ugliest phone in the world, but it isn't the prettiest either. The style is growing on me, but I wish it was the VTech LS5145..sometimes. Right before I dropped my landline for the new cell, I was able to try 2 cells paired and a landline and found out that either my home phone provider or this phone system had problems with the time-sync. It uses CID to read the Caller ID information through the landline and use that to set the time and keep it synced, but I was always an hour off. I am thinking that there might be a problem with someone's Daylight Savings Time settings (either phone or provider, so I can't really place fault until I hook it up to another landline, but FYI). The time, however, can be set manually, but it WILL change back to the CID time each time a call comes in, as there is no option I saw (maybe in manual) that would override CID time for ALL CALLS. The last gripe I have about the phone (a minor one for me, but maybe not for you) is the inability to use the keypad once in a Bluetooth-linked cellular call. I'm not sure if this is just a Bluetooth issue or what but the handset is pretty much a glorified earpiece for the phone, so it's JUST for talking. If you have to place any call that requires automated menus (credit card, bank, voicemail, "For English, press one", etc.) then this WILL NOT WORK. I just got in the quick habit of going to pick up my cell and using it for calls like this, no big deal for me, but it may get annoying for others, so....F..Y...I... All in all.. GREAT PHONE!

Great phone, excellent sound quality and range. Eventhough the instruction book is quite large (for a phone) the phone is very easy to use - don;t really need to read the book. I like the spare battery charging feature that provides back up for phone if you loose power. The speaker phone has mute...most don't. Bluetooth connectivity is great, but it really drains the cell phone's battery. Agree with the other reviews on the down side of entering phone addresses in each handset/base station independently. However, saving numbers from caller ID helps reduce the work load. Started with the base-station, now I am ready to expand my system through out the whole house.

Just switched from an LS5145. This phone was most likely made for AT&T by VTech. Even the screens are the same. The phone is not as stylish and you can't transfer calls from one handset to another. However, it was extremely easy to set up. The display is brilliant. The phone is sturdy and the sound is clear. There are more features than most people will use. It is nice to be able to link both my wife's and my cell phones. Calls can be placed and received from the handset using the cell phone line. All the settings are intuitive. The picture displays are cool! The kids love them. There is no interference with my WIFI and the DSS encryption means my neighbor and I no longer battle over phone channels. I would love to rate this phone at a 4.5 but that's not possible. Except for the previously mentioned inability to transfer calls from headset to headset. The only thing this phone is missing is a way to download my contacts from outlook. It's a great phone!

First of all I would like to clarify an issue brought up by the last reviewer. That reviewer mention that you could not use the phone keypad when connected to a Bluetooth cell phone, like to use a phone menu system. I am guessing that this limitation was with that reviewer's cell phone, because I am able to interact with phone menus using the handset keypad when dialing through my cell phone. . I haven't had a landline in a long time, I've been using cell phones only. So when I decided to add a land line to the party, I did not want to give up the rich feature set I was used to. The options I was considering were the Panasonic KX-TG8232B DECT phone with color LCD, and this phone. I have found this phone to have equivalent range and a greater feature set with a better interface. . Range is excellent. I am able to reach about a hundred feet outside and down an apartment hallway, down to about 30 feet when cutting through heavy walls and interference. . The bluetooth feature is also a wonderful addition. I am able to place long distance calls from my home phone without paying for any additional service, simply by dialing through my cell phone. We can also use more than one handset to talk to somebody on the cell phone, something that was not possible before. I have not tried using a bluetooth headset with this phone as that only works with the base. . Some of the ringers this phone comes with seem a little weird for a phone ring, but you can delete them and record your own! I've never seen a home phone where you could record your own ring before! . If you ever use a cell phone, you will likely find this interface very easy to use like I do. It is a similar layout to many cell phones, and a very graphical and friendly interface. I was able to pick it up and instantly know how to do what I needed without looking in the manual. The base doesn't have as nice an interface, but I mainly use the handsets. . In addition to having custom ringers for each directory entry, you can also have a picture or animation display when they call, making it even easier to identify callers. You can't provide your own pictures or animation unfortunately, so no picture caller ID like on cell phones, but it's still neat and beats the "different colors" option of the Panasonic I was looking at. . In addition to those specific features, this phone has everything I would expect it to have. It has an intercom, you can page all or a single phone, you can expand up to 12 handsets and name each one something descriptive, it has an answering machine with remote access and everything, and just about every feature I was expecting it to have, it did. . The only major feature this phone is lacking is a way to transfer directory entries between individual handsets, and to/from the base. It holds 100 directory entires and each one can have a picture and ringer associated, so entering them all into each phone is painful. If they come from caller ID however, it's not so hard since each phone has the caller ID log. . If you're looking for a nice phone system and are willing to spend a little for some useful features, look no further, this is your phone.

All kinds of junk was on sale... But I was looking for something diff, something nonstandard and new. Purchased this phone on sale which makes it even a better deal. Here is what I like about it: -works great with Comcast cable modem (VoIP). -large base display with clock. -very easy to set up with single in/out keys. no confusion. -can conference cell phone with bluetooth. -zero noise line. -loud and clear speaker. -ppl friendly ring tones. my previous phone sounded like fire alarm. -cool and very easy to use handset. -price below $100 Great buy.

This AT&T phone actually works the way it said it would. It consolidates my cell phones and land line so that I only have to have handset extensions located throughout my house to answer any call on any line. Our two cell phones linked up easily. The directions are intuitive, if you have ever made a Bluetooth link with another device. The handsets can be used simultaneously. You can “party line” with two or more persons on individual handset “extensions”. Or you can have some folks on a land line call while others are on a cell call. Too easy !!! This phone is slick! You can make or answer a call on either your land line or you can do it on one of your linked cell phones. Just push a button to answer any call. And when you want to call out on a cell phone to take advantage of late night long distance or weekend rates, you push the cell connection button and the phone asks you which cell phone you want to use. Each handset and the base have their own directory, which is great if you have handsets in the kid’s rooms, they get to program in their own friend’s numbers. Sorry, there is no USB link available to your Outlook contact list. If you want to have all of your phone numbers on all of your handsets, too bad ... so sad....you need to add them the hard way on each device, if you must. I don’t. I use one handset as the main directory and make my calls using it. If you have caller ID on your land line, that makes it easier to store incoming phone numbers in the directory. And, you use the directory to call out on either your cell or land lines. You can listen to a missed land line message on any handset. If your cell is like mine, you can call your cell number on your handset, through your cell phone, to get your cell messages. The speaker phone feature on the base and handsets works wonderfully well, so much better than the speaker on my cell phones. I just place the handset on speaker and I can set it down while talking and I don’t have to worry about keeping that little cell phone close to my ear. And my bluetooth earpiece works great too. I did have to "un-pair' it from my cell phone and then pair it up with the AT&T base unit. If you don’t have any land line and have fully converted to a cell phone for all of your “at home” calls, then you need to get a phone like this, instead of carrying your cell phone with the whole time that you are home. Put a handset in the kitchen, bedroom, garage and office and the base somewhere central, such as the family room, along with your cell phone charger, and you can leave your cell phone there while you are home and access from any of the handsets scattered throughout the house. And just in case you didn’t pick up on the basics, the handsets don’t need a telephone connection to link to the base. And if you use cell phones only, you don’t even need to connect the base to anything but the power supply. This AT&T phone is sooo much better than sliced bread !!!

This is a great phone. The calls are crystal clear all over my house. I need a phone that can accept a headset or with a great speakerphone. The handset speakerphone on this phone works great! People I've spoken to say they can't even tell I'm using a speakerphone. The speakerphone on the base is not quite that great, but still works really well, also. I also have a Bluetooth headset for my cell phone that I have set up to work with this phone. It doesn't work quite as well as I would like because there is a little bit of a humming noise and echo, but it does work okay. I have not tried using the feature where you can sync your cell phone to this phone. The other great feature about this phone is you can assign ringtones to different phone numbers in the phone's directory. This enables you to identify callers without even looking at the caller ID. There are a ton of different ringtones to choose from, also. You can even record your own into the handset. I would say this phone is worth the money hands down. It's the first phone I've ever bought that worked as well as I hoped.

I recently bought this phone to replace a Panasonic Cordless phone for our house which after <2 years stopped working. Additionally, while using the Panasonic phone people could not hear my as I have a deep voice. So, I went out to buy a new phone and came home with this phone plus one of the additional handsets. Out of the box, the phone is a snap to setup. I even setup the Bluetooth feature to receive and place calls from my Bluetooth enable BlackBerry. The phone is quick to react to requests (make calls, receive calls, scroll menus, etc.) as opposed to some phones where there is a delay every time you push a button. Calls received through my cell phone were also a snap and the phones layout is simple to figure out not requiring even reading of the instruction manual. Overall, this phone is fantastic. Color screen that you can put your own images on, clear sound, ease of use and flexibility make is a clear winner.

I really like this phone. The menus are easy to understand and the color display makes seeing it anywhere easy. The handset holds a decent charge. It is also very ease to review messages o nthe handset as they are linked to the caller id log. The bluetooth feature with my headset has been good and bad. It seems to pick up interference from my wireless router which causes my voice to sound like I am speaking from miles away with som humming. I am trying it more now that I have moved the router some distance away from the base of the phone. The other negative about this phone is that the directories can not be transferred between the base and the handset like my old Uniden phone. So you program all the numbers into the handset and can't dial any of them from the base. No one wants to re enter all those numbers.

I have had no problems with this system. I tried it just with the base and a handset and it linked to my cell phone flawlessly. I thought by the ads i could not make calls out on my cell phone but I can, easily, just no addres book . So i use the address book on my ATT handset For the inbound calls i can add two different ringers so one is my biz line another is my personal line. its hard to turn off all the biz lines at night though so i have to forward to my cell phone and then turn that off, not a big problem but one nontheless the answering system is flawless and systematically works. I wish the phone had the talk button for the cell phone closer to the top ofthe phone near the other one but its not a big deal. I am just impressed thaat the range, batterylife and all other details that others have complained about are having so much trouble. I'd recommend it highly for functionality and looks RFD

I don't get it - a phone that is for the SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) environment that only has one landline. This phone needs two line operation PLUS the cell phone integration line. So close but so far away. I am tired of wires all over the place and this does allow you to have not only your cell phone integrate with the phone but also use a Bluetooth headset. Very handy when you spend hours on the phone. Bluetooth is still not as good as it can be. Noise comes and goes in the background once in a while and level can occassionally change. The overall phone quality seems good enough, the functionality is great it just misses the mark in a few areas as noted. No problem getting everything to set up and work. Separate directories in the handset and base might be a bit of a pain but you can keep Personal Contacts in one and Business in the other. This is a deal if you need the Bluetooth, not much else to really choose from out there. It is 5.8 GHz so unlike the Panasonic it won't mess with your wireless equipment. With a few changes AT&T could have a really great Home Office Phone.

    Great Phone for Bluetooth

I have tried many phones but this one is nearly perfect for my needs. I had a Plantronics Calisto Pro at nearly 3 times the cost and this phone totally out performs it. The screens are easy to read, the bluetooth paring and syncing is very easy and works great. But most of all the audio quality over my Motorola H12 with this phone is crystal clear. I have never had a headset combo that was so clear. This beats out any of my Plantronics extremely expensive headsets. I do have a Motorola H12 bluetooth headset which has noise cancelling which will contribute to the . However even with my Plantronics Voyager 510 it is very clear as well. The only gripe is not being able to download contact lists from my computer. I am on this phone about 5 hours a day, and have had it for about 2 months.

The base and handsets are very easy to setup. I also paired both my wife and I's cell phone so that we can receive and make phone calls via our cell service. There is no interference with our wireless 'N' network which was a serious problem with our previous 2.8GHz phone system. I really like that you can change the ring tones based on which phone is ringing (i.e. cell or base unit). I also like the fact that you can label the individual handsets (i.e. Living Room, Kitchen, etc). The only thing I wish this phone system did different is that the caller ID and phone directory was centralized. Meaning, the base unit and handsets maintain individualized lists (which I find a little annoying). Overall, I'm very please with the reception and looks of this phone. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for an easy phone to setup that is feature packed.

I bought this phone after I activated my landline phone service mainly for home use and so far after owning this for a month, its been great so far, no problems what so ever except every once in awhile if I am talking to someone over speakerphone on the handset and the volume is set all the way up, if the person your talking to is talking, it cuts out ALOT! (possibly feedback from the person talking is bouncing back and fourth), but easily fixed if you turn it down just a notch. Other then that, its a great phone, im considering buying additional handsets! If your looking for bluetooth connectivity for headsets or cellphones, this works perfect!

Purchased from Best Buy on September 3rd 2007. I also purchased one handset, and will be adding one or more and you can add up to 12. Works great with the Bluetooth cell phones, the reason for purchasing this phone. Only one phone to carry outside, will not miss any landline or cell calls. One can be using an extension for landline call and another can be using another extension for a cell call. The quality of the cell calls are great. Many features.

    Great Phone and Concept

The AT&T EP5632 phone system is the most innovator one I have seen. It allows me to pair my cell phone (via bluetooth) to the phone system as a second line which is accessible (outgoing and incoming) from any handset (up to 12). In addition, I am able to pair my bluetooth headset to the phone system to use it as I would with my cell phone directly. While I haven't found any cons yet, there is one minor thing - the phone directory on the base and on the handset can not be sync so you have to re-enter it on each. This could be a pain if you have 12 handsets, but it does allow you to create 13 separate phone directories. Also, the number of rings for the digital answering system is only 2,4 or or 6 rings - I prefer 3 rings. Finally, the handset has a vivid color LCD display. It would have been nice if there was some software that would have allowed me to download photos for a real photo caller identification system. Maybe on the next release...

When buying this phone the box said that you could receive and send cellular calls through bluetooth. I thought this meant that you could answer home calls through a bluetooth cellphone. This is not the case, you can make cell phone calls through your cellphone, by using the telephone handset. This function is useless unless you leave your cell by the phone. You could just as easily make the call from your cell. The speaker phone and caller id is clear, but that doesnt make up for the expensive price of a phone that is misleading.

The concept of this phone is great: Pair up your cell phone with it via BT and it becomes your cell phone. Make and place calls from the wireless handset and it's routed through your cell phone. Receive incoming calls either from your land line or cell phone. The ultimate if you're like me and have a home phone and cell phone that you take calls on. The problem is that when I sync this up to my Moto Q, I can't answer incoming calls on the handset - inevitably I need to just use my cell phone to answer the call. Very frustrating and basically diminishes the whole great idea. Overall, the concept is great but they fall flat on execution.
