Good Buy For The Money

I've had three different makes of cordless phones and this one is the best by far. I don't use the answering machine because I have the phone company's service so the blinking indicator showing a message is waiting is great rather than having to pick the phone up and listen. The voice is clear; the ease of use is great; being able to pick up the phone and have a two way conversation with someone else in the house on the line is a good feature. The intercom is wonderful. I can take one line outside and call my husband in the house. I thought the set was so great I went and bought another for my sister-in-law. This is the first cordless phone set I've actually enjoyed.

Better than the Panasonic DECT 6.0

I bought the Panasonic KX-TG1033S system for my home since it said it could be mounted on the wall. Well, yes and no. They do include a wall mount, but it's really like a 90 degree bracket that puts that phone on a shelf so you can't easily see the lights or buttons unless you're right on top of the phone. I returned that Panasonic to the store and started looking for other phones instead.
This AT&T phone is REALLY a wall mounted base phone which snugs up against the wall and you can easily see if there are messages or not from across the room. It's a much better design (mechanically) and doesn't protrude from the wall very far. I'm not all that familiar with DECT 6.0 technology, but this system does a lot more (information sharing) than my previous digital phone system did from about 10 years ago. For example, you can have multiple phones connected to the same outside phone call at the same time. The intercom feature seems like it will be pretty useful too. I gave it a durability rating of 3 since I've only had this phone for a day and I don't know if it's durable or not. The speaker phone option sounds fairly good for a speaker phone according to a friend of mine I called who is very critical of audio issues. The normal audio (non-speakerphone) is very good and clean as well. The intercom audio also sounds great on both ends of the conversation. I wish it had the ability to have different ring tones for intercom calls or outside calls, but that's a minor point in my opinion. It would have been nice to have the ability to type in 'user-friendly' names for each of the 4 phones such as 'Kitchen', 'Living Room', 'Bedroom', 'Rec Room', etc so that the use of the intercom would be slightly easier rather than having to remember that, for example, phone #4 is really the 'bedroom phone'. That's another minor point.

Some drawbacks

Good range, easy to set up. But no speed dial capability! Too bad I already ordered another handset (on back order) or I would take my wife's advice and take it back. She wants me to try to have the old set repaired. Also, no key to enter the phone book (directory) without going into the menu. Much more difficult to use than our old set. One other thing, no way to set a distinctive ring for individual callers set up in your directory. If all you want is a basic multi phone and answering machine then I guess it will do but for me there are not enough features that I am used to.

Best Cordless system yet

I went back and forth for a while on which system to buy and am very pleased with this one. The four handset are great the intercom system which was unexpected is awesome for calling up to my 11 year old son who often can't hear us. Didn't really need the answering system so that has the capability of being turned off. You can program a number in any one of the handsets and it syncs to all of the others. If there is one bad thing I can say about the system is that I need two more handsets and they are on backorder.....but that just shows you how great the phone is. The voice is very clear even almost a quarter mile from my house (yes I tested it I like to prove things wrong...)

A nice phone for little money

I bought this setup to replace a very poorly made DECT 6.0 panasonic phone that would die randomly. This phone has done everything I wanted it to, mainly work properly. The sound quality is not quite as good as panasonic, but my home phone is rarely used so that is a minor issue. The battery life is good, the answering machine works well and is easy to use, and the phonebook is shared with all the handsets. I will say that the speaker phone quality is better than most, as it is clear to hear the person talking. I have exclusively had panasonic phones for at least 10 years and after the last on I vowed not to get another one, it was a piece of junk. I made my descision for this phone based on price and user reviews, landlines aren't used that much anymore so there is no need to spend alot. Pick this up for $75 and I tink you'll be happy too.

The system is exactly what I wanted. Light weight, easy to set-up and numbers and controls are easy to read. Has more than enough features for me and the additional handsets give me coverage I wanted. Haven't really validated the range feel sure it will suit my needs. I'm a happy camper and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends. I would like to purchase a belt clip for the handset but haven't pursued that yet.

I bought this phone system to replace older individual phones and an answering machine. I have been very satisfied with my purchase as there are many nice features including the intercom between phones and the fact that you can check the answering machine messages from any of the handsets. The sound quality is great as well. I got this on sale for $60 but the regular price of $100 is still a good deal for 4 handsets.

These are beautiful to look at, but programming them will try your patience. I'm a fairly savvy technology person, but these phones are frustrating to program and use when it comes to the speed dial functions. The button placement is counter-intuitive. The features are also quite limited. I went from an old set of phones that allowed me to program individual ring tones for certain friends and family members to this set of phones, which seem stripped down, by comparison. My final complaint is that you only get a voicemail indicator light on the main handset. My main handset is in my computer room - on the second floor. Someone has to travel upstairs just to see if we have messages on our voicemail. My old phones that we had messages with a simple blinking light.

We had an older set like thisthat finally played out. We did some searching and ordered this set. It was easy to set up and I love all the features. It's been very easy to setup our calling lists and I love the speaker phone feature! All in all I would purchase more units for this set and recommend it to others.

Terrific phone system

Our children were so impressed by this system that we purchased a set for them for Christmas , last year. No echo when speakerphone is on. The party on the other end does not even hear the difference. Makes it so much easier when you need to write down information. Previously, with other phone systems, the speaker was almost useless. The overall system is very easy to program.

GREAT VALUE, EXCELLENT FEATURES, NEVER HAPPIER!!

FIRST OF ALL (AND THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO THE OTHER REVIEWERS) THERE ARE INTERCHANGEABLE (8 DIFFERENT) RING TONES AND THE INTERCOM AND REGULAR CALL TONES DO DIFFER FROM ONE ANOTHER! THE PRICE FOR SUCH A SLEEK/STYLISH SYSTEM WITH 4 INCLUDED HANDSETS IS AN EXCELLENT VALUE! I HAVE ALWAYS ROCKED AN AT&T PHONE SINCE AT LEAST THE LATE 70'S! I LOVE THIS SYSTEM AND COULDN'T BE HAPPIER WITH IT! ONE SLIGHT DOWNFALL HOWEVER IS IF YOU RUN A HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION VIA DSL, YOU MAY NEED TO PURCHASE A DSL FILTER TO CUT OUT STATIC. I HOWEVER DO RUN DSL AND DON'T GET ANY INTERFERENCE WHATSOEVER, BUT IT IS WRITTEN IN THE MANUAL SO IT MAY BE A POSSIBILITY.

Purchased phones for parents who complained it was difficult to hear (inadequate volume) and poor reception / interference with previous Uniden phone. This product has sufficient amplification, large keys, and good range.

This is a great phone system. Lightweight and easy to hold. Nice backlighting and large letters and numbers (great for seniors). Takes no table space and easy to set up. I have a total of 8 phones on my system and have had zero problems. The price was very reasonable for such a high quality product. I would highly recommend this phone system.

Easy to hook up. I like the details of it. All the good things like redilal, answering machine, check missed calls, etc.
Has excellent sound. When spring and summer comes around, I'll be checking out the range.
The only thing is you have to remember to set it up so it beeps when you get home and it has a message on it. Otherwise, the only way you know if it has a message is by looking at the main phone itself.

Bought this for an elderly neighbor (78). She had a single cordless phone that never seemed to be where she was when she needed it. The setup is a snap with only one phone jack needed for the base unit. Electrical wall outlet is all that is needed for the extensions. large, lit. easy to read buttons and screen and a simple to use answering machine. She now has access to a phone in each part of the house. Simple solution for her daughter to keep in contact and checking up on her.

My main beefs with this phone system is threefold: The total recorded message capacity is only 14 minutes, there is no battery backup of date/time, and the sound quality is awful.. So any time the power goes out, you have to go back into the system setup and redo date & time. With today's memory technology that is a pretty amazing oversight. The good part is that I have expanded the system to 7 phones and the "discovery" process works great.
