Love that it has an Ethernet connection plus WiFi
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First I gave this 4 stars based on this being our second purchase of this hotspot with the first one slowing down and giving us problems after a few years of use. With that said, however, I highly recommend this hotspot. We live 99% of the time in an RV and I work from that RV and have to have a reliable internet connection. I use the Ethernet connection for my laptop and even if I have a weak LTE signal I do not have an issue with my VPN connection. The WiFi bands are excellent as well but those speeds will vary with the strength of the LTE signal. Net gear has a mobile app you can use to monitor and control the hotspot which is a nice feature as well.

Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a truck driver, it’s nice not having to rely on my phone or tablet for a hotspot. The service is consistent and plentiful. Definitely worth it for someone who works away from home a lot. It holds a charge better than your average cell phone. It’s charges with micro usb so readily available.

Good hotspot
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using this for home internet in a rural area, have it under unlimited unthrottled plan and getting 40 Mbps. Best option when the only other option is overpriced satellite internet.

works great, setup is a nightmare
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took multiple escalations through AT&T Support to get the Nighthawk set up properly (BestBuy Support bailed immediately because it was a web vs. in-store sale). Once it gets properly provisioned on the carrier side it is quite fast and (so far) reliable. Set aside 2-3 hours of on-hold time first. Best approach -- get them to show it working before you leave the store, and don't bother with an online purchase.

Very good for travel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My experience with this product has been good thus far. Interface is clean and easy to use; WiFi speed and range are plenty good. 5G-ish capabilities.. Closer to 4G depending on who you ask, but this product delivers as long as it is being used as intended - as a mobile hotspot, not as a router for home network.

One of the best mobile routers available
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One thing that's not highlighted enough about this product is how AT&T will unlock it so you can use it on any 4G US cell carrier's network. I've been using it with my Google Fi account which uses mostly T-Mobile towers for data transfer. The speed and connection has been great!

It works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty easy to get it running once we figured out tapping the button gives different screens. It does not really seem to want to shut off, the five second hold is never enough, but it seems to work well enough

Great for RV life!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to use while in my RV the majority of the summer, it has been excellent. I use it with an OTR mobile truly unlimited plan and I couldn't be happier. I use all kinds of data while camping between the streaming of TV programs and music, the occasional working from my laptop and the temperature monitor that I use to make sure that my AC remains on so my dog doesn't overheat.

Great option for rural broadband
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Living in the woods in upstate NY, broadband internet options are few, too far from the highway for cable and our fixed wireless (~ 2Mbps) provider was shutting down residential service. It was going to be either satellite or cellular. SAT=high equipment cost, long contracts, data caps, high latency. Decided to go with this AT&T mobile hotspot router. With 2-3 bars of signal strength we are seeing 20+Mbps down and 15 up with 45ns latency, awesome compared to our old fixed wireless. For the data plan, we went with a reseller - $60/m unlimited no throttling! To extend the the WiFi signal , we set our old router to bridge-mode and connected it to the Ethernet port - awesome. BEWARE. Research suggested that these units can be flaky. The first device we received was a dud. I recommend getting the extra protection plan.

Great hotspot!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little hotspot works well and is very sturdy. Once when my home internet was not working, I plugged in my home router into this Ethernet port and was able to use my cellular data for the day! I have had one of these for 2 years and just purchased one for my daughter.

Best option for an AT&T hotspot
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nowadays there are fewer options for hotspots to push people into new more expensive plans, but if you have a grandfathered account with a hotspot on it you can get this and be up-to-date. Its pricey but it works well.

Nice little router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best CAT16 router by netgear. Make sure that you buy the MR1100-2A1NAS which has band 14 for AT&T. good speed as it support 5ghz ac channels.

It has issues.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only thing that gets this unit 2 stars is the amazing battery life. It can last for days at a time. It is also a very robust compared to others. This hotspot is AT&T only and cannot currently be used with an unlimited data plan . It took a few days to get it activated as AT&T was not familiar with it. The data meter for usage never works and always says 100% of data available while the on screen menu will show actual data used. The data usage numbers reset when the unit is turned off an on again so it is not a reliable number. No way to reliably monitor/manage data usage on the hotspot itself. You have to log into your carrier account online to see actual usage. There is a single button and anyone with access to the hotspot can push the button to see the password. There is no way to turn this off so physically securing it may be a consideration. The settings to restrict access to specific devices works perfectly. The LAN pass through feature seems to intermittently fail and you end up using data rather than using the LAN connection that is physically plugged in. I had one issue where the hotspot would not charge. Netgear support got me through that with a reset procedure.

Easy to setup. Connects to AT&T with no issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This cellular router works perfectly. Setup was super easy. Tested the router by connecting wirelessly to my smart tv and was able to watch Netflix with no issue. And that was with 2 bars on the cellular side.

When internet is not available
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Living in the country presents a challenge for internet. Having an att tower close around and an unlimited internet plan makes living in the country a joy. Awesome and stylish router.
