A: The $200 just covers the device. You will have to choose a WiFi data package with AT&T which has a monthly fee.
A: This device will provide you with much more reliable and faster internet compared to satellite. Satellite internet is not considered live internet, so it is quite limited. Even if it does work, the data limits will keep you waiting til the next billing cycle to do anything. I get my service from an AT&T reseller for $60 per month. No data limits, no throttling, not affected by weather, no large equipment to install. This particular device allows me to stream Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and more without any buffering. YouTube loads nearly instantly in 1080p with no buffering. I can stream my games and participate in online games and chats on my Xbox, and this device even allows me to work from home. I have a router connected to the Ethernet cable which gives me regular internet like when I lived in town. I go through about 1 TB (over 1,000 GB's) every month with no issues, no throttling, no data caps. I have had satellite and the best package you can get allows you 100 MB per month. Some Xbox games alone (such as Forza or Halo) are over 90 GB's alone, so data caps just don't work. HD and 4K streaming can burn through 100 GB's in just a matter of days. I am partially disabled and live in a very rural area that doesn't even offer regular home phone service anymore, so having the option of true high speed internet at home (which is also mobile) has truly changed my life. I have two active mobile broadband devices, one being this Nighthawk mobile broadband modem and the other is a regular netgear wifi hotspot device. They both use the exact same service. The Nighthawk modem consistently gets a stronger signals and produce a faster download and upload speed. It is well worth the extra money. Just remember to charge the battery before you use it. It can operate without the battery, which also reduces the chance of overheating when under heavy use.
Q: Do I have to have at&t internet b4 i get this hotspot?
A: No, this is a mobile hotspot for use on the ATT cellular network. You can buy the device without activating it but it is locked to ATT and you will need a data plan from them to actually use it.
A: The Netgear Nighthawk MR1100 Mobile Hotspot Router is basically a hotspot device for AT&T. It comes with a new (not activated) AT&T SIM card installed in it. The internal device settings are for AT&T, though they can be altered for Verizon or T-Mobile with their SIM card and other internal setting via the app. However, for me, there was no prepaid Verizon plans. From what I could find, no AT&T ones either. Therefore, I have a plan from another provider that uses AT&T (as in, signal from their towers). Plans offered from providers such as Wirelessbuy.com [T-Mobile] or Netbuddy.com, [AT&T] etc... for a monthly unlimited data plan that is also untethered, There are several more out there that the "mobile community" RV, mobile home, off-grid, boating, etc. use. The above are just a couple. NOTE: AT&T and Verizon broadcast differently. AT&T & T-Mobile are "GSM" whereas, Verizon is "CDMA" - thus the internal changes needed to be made to the Netgear Nighthawk if you plan to use it for Verizon. A: It depend on how you purchase it -- if the full price is more than you can afford in a single purchase; with a 2 year contract the fee is reduced significantly -- however, is you opt out before the end of the 2 year period you will be obligated to pay the full price

A: Yes, it can be used to stream those applications.
