i live in indiana and planned a roadtrip to visit my parents in arizona and they didnt have internet yet at their house. this unit is sooo simple to use and practically indestructable..perfect connection all along the way and even when i got there..cant say enough good things about it.the speed is remarkable as well

until I got the night hawk. Only had this joker a week and they released the new version. so now this one's going as backup. As for using it, the device has a pretty powerful antenna and the ability to connect to 4G (actually 3G WCDMA) or 4G LTE, which is important to me since the hotspots I have prefer the LTE connection which is weaker and slower than the WCDMA. It also provides a ton of info on connection quality, band, etc. Way more than what most people would want. Even though its performance is equal to the nighthawk where I live I've replaced it. If I wasn't so darn greedy and smarter I'd just stick with the Explore as it's one heck of a hotspot.

This mobile hotspot works great for me. I'm able to use my laptop, tablet and phone while a passenger in my vehicle, and most other places, too.

You can get the free unit from AT&T or you can get this one. I had the free one first. I don’t have great coverage in my area, but after upgrading to this unit my speeds nearly quadrupled. This unit also has external antenna ports unlike the cheap unit. I’m waiting for the antenna to arrive. Hopefully it boosts my signal and speeds as well.

I had high expectations for this device. I was left with a lot of disappointment. The first thing wrong is that the touchscreen locks up and takes a very long time to respond. The factory charger had issues charging the device when running. Compared to the Velocity and the Mobley, this was not any faster for connection speeds. I imagine in some tri-band areas it would be quicker. The only advantages this has over other hot spots is that it not only tells you signal strength, but which band you are using, has good battery life, has ports for external antennas and can support up to 15 devices.

I’ve used a number of WiFi hotspots over the years and this has been the best. It is incredibly simple, I just moved my SIM card into it and powered it up and BAM fast WiFi ready to go. But it also provides info that is useful to advanced users without getting in the way of the basic functionality.

This is the third one we have prchased over the las 1o years. We upgrade periodically to enhance connection and speed. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Other than having a few issues with devices connected to a previous MiFi of a different brand but with the same SSID (my choice), this device is a fantastic implementation of a mobile hotspot.

I absolutely love having the convenience of WI-Fi at my finger tips with a secure connection. Super product.

If you use a lot of data (streaming of ANY kind - music and video), this will NOT be the best (cheapest) plan, but this does provide excellent data coverage when you need to securely and quickly get online. This product is used best for email, web browsing.

I purchased for my ipad to stream movies on road trips. this performs better than your cell since it has a bigger antenna. in areas where my cell would not work, this hot spot would.

Gives me my constant great wifi in my rv and its fast

We used this on a car trip. My wife was able to read email and cruise the web with her tablet which does not have cell access. The signal was strong and consistent.

I don't have wifi at home, so to use this hotspot is great when I need the internet for research papers and anything school/work related and need to use a laptop/desktop. And with the AT&T Unlimited Plus Plan, I can use as much internet as I need!!!

Had to go out of town and my dad doesn't have wifi and it works very well mail,safari and connection is very good

Its okay its a 50/50 because wish their more data to my wifi contract plan then as you provided with money I paying per month

Needed a hotspot because hotel internet is awful. So far it has worked well. Set up was a breeze
