Sits perfectly over couch's armrest. It has a weighted rod that you tuck down into the seat cushion against the arm rest to keep it in place. Holds all of my remotes. Keeps the clutter down. I would recommend and buy again.

Since I delight in making my TV viewing, recording and playback system as complicated as possible I have four remotes. Where to put them when not in use has always been a problem. I thought the overarm remote storage unit would solve storage since it is advertised as fitting over all chair arms. It does not. Fortunately I have an adjustable table tray (for dining) next to my chair and have jury rigged the holder over the tray support bar with heavy clamps. It sort of works.

Much depends on the size of the arm rest that is involved.there is really nothing to anchor the caddy to and so it can come loose and become useless.

I love being organized and this item is perfect for that ! I'll be buying one of these for my father too !

IT DOESNOT STAY ON ARM.IF YOU RECLINE IT DOESNT STAY I MADE A MISTAKE AND BOUGHT TWO

This caddy serves its purpose but it's much longer than necessary. It either hangs way down or I have to double fold it and tuck it in my couch corner in order for it to be at the level that you would want it, which is just under the arm rest. Problem is since it's on a recliner, it doesn't stay put when I double tuck it in so you have to readjust it all the time rather than it just sitting there doing its job.

I was not sure the caddy would work with the style of furniture which is in the four season sun room, but I need not have worried. I tucked part of it under the cushion of the rattan-style chair and it hung over the arm without being pulled out by the weight of the remotes. We finally have a good place to store our four remotes. ;-)
