The sales person was very helpful and suggested I consider these headphones. I was not disappointed. I love the sound. I can now listen to music or watch my favorite videos on my iPad in the comfort of my living room while my wife watches TV. They are comfortable for an hour or so but probably wouldn't be for an extended period. The case is handy and very durable around the house but maybe considered bulky if you wanted to use on an airplane. I was impressed with the quality of the construction.

It took me a year and a half reading reviews and testing out different headphones to find these perfect pair of headphones. I based my decision on these criterias: over the ear, comfort, sound quality, noise cancelation. It really was an easy choice once I had these placed these over my ears. Noise cancelation was very important to me because I was working in a lab which produced a lot of noise due to the large number equipment we run. Even with no music on it helped to drown out most of the noise but still allowed me to hear and talk to my coworkers. Over the ear and comfort was also important to me because I worked long shifts and needed to wear them for extended periods of time. The sound quality is impressive. It is clear and crisp. Unlike the Bose noise canceling headphones I tried that stop the music once the battery dies for the noise cancellation, these Audio Technica's allow music to be played if you turn off the noise canceling button. Win in my book. One down side is that after three years the seams for the leather came apart on the inside. I haven't fixed it but the rest of the headphones are fine and functioning like new. I love these headphones!

Comfortable fit, come with nice carrying case. I am extremely sound sensitive and wear these at work to help block out distracting noises. I like that they are able to cancel some background noise while still able to hear some speech. In a perfect world they would have bluetooth capabilities rather than wired, but I don't use them frequently for anything other than noise canceling.

I bought these back in 2014. They have been great. Good quality noise canceling, while still being able to wear them (I can't wear Bose QC15, they create too much pressure for my ears). I so not use them supe often, and i am just now having to get new ear pads for them. I would definitely recommend

I researched and compared these headphones with HIGHER priced headphones, like the Bos__ . Sound quality for these headphones are BETTER, in my opinion!! I listen to Rock and '80s music, dating myself, and LOVE the dynamic total harmonic response! If you LOVE listening to louder, just a little, bass with mids and treble PERFECT, then these are the headphones for YOU!!!

I purchased these for travel, which I would not recommend. They're a little bulky with the case and takes up some much needed space when flying. The sound however IS incredible. I'm not sure if they're worth the retail price but on sale they were perfectly justified.

I tried these on at an airport shop, where they were very overpriced - however they did a great job of noise canceling. I work in an open office situation, with tons of white noise pumped in, and these do a great job of reducing that noise almost to zero. They are effective enough to listen to quiet electronic or ambient music on an airplane. I did do a head to head test with a coworker's Bose QC15 (?) not sure number, and will admit the Bose was better in cancelling the white noise - but only a small amount. But I strongly prefer the price, build quality and musical sound of these Audio-Technicas. My next pair will likely be the ATH-M50X for home listening,

I purchased these after reviewing a few and they work great. Sound is clear, they are really comfortable and don't cost near as much as the Bose.

I had purchased a pair of these about 4 years ago and they worked great. I purchased a new pair so that I could pass the old ones down to daughter. These work great. Every bit as good as the Bose or better than the Beats. Sound is great with no distortion.

I've had the Bose QC15 and Soul SL300 in the past, but I prefer my new ACN9 over them. I like the sound quality over both previous headphones and the noise cancellation is almost as good as the QC15. It does produce stronger bass which I prefer, but overall the sound quality is well defined. The headphones are very comfortable and appear to be well made. I’ve had them for only a couple of days so reliability is undetermined. I did recommend this same pair to my friend who travels often. He went with me when I purchased mine and he borrowed it over lunch. We went right back to the store and he bought the other pair in stock. I did purchase the extended warranty as I've had issues with my SL300 in the past.
