Without it it’s pretty flat. Another thing to consider is that if you use the headphones for a long period of time, it’ll be very uncomfortable.

They don't boost much so do your homework before you buy. (I went to the store to buy although I could have bought them online because I don't want these stores to close. Same price.)

Great studio headphones

Also I used them to get through my audio engineering school and they worked amazing. The headphones come with a carrying bag and many extra cables with 1/4 and 3.5mm. They receive a good range of frequency required for the higher end tasks!
