I had originally purchased a “Victrola” briefcase style turntable. That was my first mistake. Took it back right away and purchased the LP60. It was only $50 more and is a much better turntable. I have it set up with some cheapie amazon computer speakers and a sub. It sounds great with this basic setup, I can imagine how great it would sound with more expensive speakers! I may buy a second player in the red color (if I can find one!)

After a long while w/o a TT, I couldn't take it anymore and purchased the Audio-Technica. Very nice and I'm glad I did. Plays beautifully, is compact, looks well made and does the job. I'm pleased so far. Just get it and play on to the wee hours of the morning if like me you have a stack of LPs and haven't enjoyed them for lack of a TT.

Purchased for daughter, easy to assemble belt. Stock needle works well. Hooked up directly to her Polk audio speakers sounds amazing. Might pick up another for my self

I am very happy with this record player, besides the fact that the RCA cable is very short, you will need to buy adapters and a longer RCA cables

Numerous positive online reviews led me to the Audio-Technica LP 60 turntable. This product is good for someone whose looking for a fairly inexpensive turntable that offers better quality than other record players in the same price range. Being fully automatic makes it easy to operate. It's built in pre amp means no need for an external one. All you'll need is this turntable, speakers, and a source that has a phono, line, aux, even CD input and you're on your way to enjoying the vinyl experience. Everything one needs is in the box. There is some minor assembly required in terms of attaching the belt to the pulley and placing the platter. The sound quality is really dependent on your source. Mine is connected to a home theater reciever through the CD input and it sounds fine to me. So if one is looking for a really sweet, reasonable priced turntable, give the Audio-Technica LP 60 a spin.

If you are thinking about getting a Crosely or other lower end record player, pay a few more bucks and pick this one up. Nice design, and it plays several records that my Crosely would skip. Records play smooth. Make sure to have external speakers because this is just a bare bones turntable. Works really well with my external sound bar. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but you can't beat this player for the sale price. In my opinion this is the best entry level high grade record player for the price.

You wake up one day, and everyone around you has purchased a turntable. You tell yourself, they're a bunch of hipsters, and try to ignore them. It doesn't take long until you hear a record playing on a turntable and you're hooked! You get it! You hear what they're going on about. Now you have to buy a turntable too! Before you drop a ton of money, you need to know whether or not you're going to be able to really get into vinyl. This is what you buy!!! If you don't get into vinyl, no big deal! You haven't really lost much. If you do get into it, then you've got a pretty decent player without all of the new-fangled options, such as blue-tooth or USB connectivity. Nothing against those things, but I really think this is the best jumping off place. A clean, warm, truly analog sound, and it has a convenient built-in pre-amp so you can plug and play with almost any common receiver. I'm 100's of records deep now and I have my little, silver AT LP60 to thank for it. Audio Technica knows what they're doing and maybe my next TT will be another Audio Technica!

Looking to get back into the Vinyl side of music..

I used to own a nifty vinyl player as a kid. That's where my appreciation on the medium started and I kind of wished I had continued on to build a good collection. I own most of my music through digital purchase these days [just so darn convenient], but I always wanted to rekindle my vinyl passion. I went through several entry level record players [Boytone, Jensen; to name a few] and I was never really satisfied with the sound or features. These brands are in no way bad, but I found their integrated speaker system to be terrible and worst of all they never shut off [even though you might have nice speakers attached]. Save yourself the hassle and get this Audio-Technica player. It's a wonderful place to start if you are looking to get back into records again. There is some assembly involved, but it's as easy as looping a belt to a gear [30 seconds tops]. The design is solid and space saving for those that don't want a large player. I have mine placed in my office and it fits nicely with some Bose speakers atop a utility desk. Buttons are super straight forward: 33/45 rpm button for differing records [adapter also included] along with a start / stop buttons. Comes with a nice slipmat, but I opted fro an acrylic slipmat to minimize static and enhance low tones. The price is hard to mess with too; considering the quality product you get in return. Bottom line: if you're new to vinyl or looking to get back into it...this is your player. If you are already a vinyl collector and a bit more seasoned at this, you may want the higher end models this wonderful brand has to offer. Thank you and enjoy the music!!

Perfect turntable for just spinning records

I wanted a basic turntable to listen to my vinyl collection. It doesn't have bluetooth or a remote control or built in speakers...so it's perfect!!! The packaging was great and protected all of the components well during shipping. Set up was straightforward and simple, except I had to get a RCA coupler because the audio cables coming out of the unit are way too short unless you're going to sit your turntable directly on top of your tuner. The audio cables are also hard wired to the turntable, which I'm not a big fan of. I prefer plugging in my own quality RCA cables. You can start and stop records with the touch of a button and the arm lifts and moves automatically. When I first used the turntable the sound was very low and sound quality was poor...then I discovered the "Phono / Line" switch on the back of the case and it nearly blew me out of the room. It seems to be a quality unit especially considering the low cost. Sound is fantastic and needles can be easily replaced.

    Replaced old turntable

I bought this as a gift for my wife to replace our old turntable. I have only used it a few times but it sounds great. I was thinking of buying the Sony but decided on this one. It only has speed, play, stop, and up & down (pause) buttons so it is very simple to use. The RCA cable is very short. I have it sitting right against the side of my receiver and it barely reached. I'm not sure if you can use longer cords because they go inside the case behind a panel. It did reach so no big deal, but if you have it on a different shelf or farther away from your receiver you might want to look in to that or buy a simple extension for a few bucks. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS about placing the belt correctly and rotating the table before plugging it in.

Excellent turntable for someone just getting into vinyl. It's easy to setup and very easy to use. I love that all i have to do is push a button and it starts. Well worth the price. It's the best turntable you'll find at this price point.

First turntable arrived DOA. It would not run after being plugged in. Took it to my local Best Buy store and received very prompt, trouble-free replacement. (The unit was available only on line, so there was a week's delay in receiving the unit both times.) I have three minor criticisms (suggestions for improvement?) to offer. First, the power cord is very long, but the RCA cables were too short to reach from the unit to my receiver on the shelf above. I had to fashion extensions. Second, there is no lock down for the tone arm when moving the unit. You have to replace the twist tie that secured it during shipment. (There is a plastic stylus guard, but it would still leave the arm unsecured.) Lastly, the dust cover is very large. I am unable to open it fully in the allotted space in my entertainment center, so I have to hold it open while inserting or removing vinyls. These are minor items, but they might be of use to a prospective purchaser.

Easy set-up and easy to operate. Despite the lack of a 3-prong plug or separate grounding cord, I have not experienced and static during playback, which was a huge problem with my previous turntable. (We'll see if this continues to be true druing the winter.) Sound quality is very good, and the switchable pre-amp means that I can get great volume playing through my receiver, even though it doesn't have a dedicated phono port. Unlike some other turntables I have seen, the lid on this one doesn't flex or distort if you raise it by one corner.

I started out with a Crosley despite all of the poor reviews. Once I realized how horrible my records sounded, I immediately stopped using it and decided to find something else. I didn't have a ton of money to spend but I wanted something better. This has definitely been a huge improvement. I really enjoy using it. It's very easy to use, doesn't take up much space, and looks nice. The only thing you need to do is buy speakers for it, which obviously, is an extra cost. I'm extremely happy with this purchase and relieved I didn't waste more money.

Everything about this TT is great, the quality, look, the fact that it's automatic. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it spins the records just a hair too fast. Some people might not even notice, but I'm a very picky listener. I returned mine and upgraded to the AT- LP120 and am very happy that I did. Excellent decision, my advice is to spend the extra couple hundred bucks and get a much better TT that will last forever and sound amazing.

I've only had this for a month, but it's great so far. The sound is great and it has its own preamp. I've heard mixed reviews about how it holds up over the longterm, but I can't speak to that yet.

I wanted a new turntable with magnetic cartridge of good quality and this unit fit the bill very well. It is a belt driven device that gives good clean sound from LPs. I am very pleased with this purchase.
