This is not true, hdmi is not passive, it requires an electric charge to keep the 0s and 1s flowing. Connectors are also important for breakage or improper connection. I used monoprice and it broke, the picture and sound was OK but this Chocolate HDMI with the 5% silver (the best electrical conductor is silver) improved picture and sound. The connectors are cold solder in and can't break as the cheaper hdmi cables. These are better than Monster or Dynex or Insignia because of the components and connectors.

Conductor and termination quality are two of the most important aspects of a good HDMI cables. And sound quality is the probably the most noticeable improvement that hits you right away with a cable like the Chocolate HDMI. Long live good picture and sound!

I always wondered if these particular hdmi cables really worked and worth buying. I took a chance and I was pleasantly surprised! First off the audio quality is a lot better, I had to turn the volume down on my Marantz receiver from 37.5 to 31.5 when watching movies or tv. The picture quality is great as well. The colors pop and the picture looks cleaner and sharp on my Lg 4K curved tv. If you want to try or upgrade your hdmi cables get these! Yes they are pricey but they are great! I guess not all hdmi cables are the same.

But these have a noticeable difference in connection speed & clarity. Shocked me. If you change the cables back & forth you can literally see the difference.
