I just love these headphones! I did a lot of research and read lots of reviews before I bought them. So many people said these were very comfortable headphones and that was really important to me. Now that I've tried them I have to agree that they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever had. They're not too heavy -- only weigh 12 oz. The ear cups go around the ears and are very soft and comfortable. The leather piece that sits on top of the head is padded underneath and has an elastic band inside of it which allows the ear cups to be easily adjusted to a comfortable position over the ears. The elastic really makes a difference in how comfortable they are. And they sound fantastic! I love everything about them. These are very high quality headphones and a really good value at $400.

This is the most expensive and best pair of phones that I have ever owned. They are so comfortable and sound so good that it is hard to not have them on for everything. It says to break them in for 150 hrs. That is so it will sound their best. I put them on a radio station for a week and then used them. They are just great. The sound is excellent with the space between the instruments are apparent. The bass is all there and not overpowering. I would buy these again.

Very natural sound, comfortable and the only complaint I could say is that the cable is a bit stiff, but not a deal breaker

The Audioquest Nightowl-carbon headphones have very pleasing audio with music and vocal sounds that bring out the notes and instruments in a mellow pleasing fashion.Also, the headphones are very comfortable which is important for one's listening pleasure.

Had a pair of original Nighthawks and wanted to experience the closed back Night Owls. Still breaking in but my impressions are a neutral presentation with tight bass that will only get better with additional break in. The downside is the cord which is far to short as referenced by many others. Other than that, for the sale price highly recommended.

Mixed... some things sound wonderful some not so great these headphones image pretty well but cant compare to my focal utopias. Make sure to break them in atleast 130 hours before making any judgements.

The clarity of these headphones are worth every penny. Highs are detailed but not over powering. Great natural sound with no fake bass.

These headphones are very comfortable and one of the best sounding I've heard. They aren't a sterile sounding studio monitor but very musical, rich and detailed sounding. They have a strong accurate bass that blends well with the rest of the music without being bloated or overdone. Vocals sound wonderful on these and the treble is detailed and smooth. The Nightowls also seal out noise very well and don't radiate any of your music if you are listening at a reasonable volume. These and the Sennheiser HD660s are two of my favorite headphones even out of some very high end ones like the HD800s, HD700, Beyerdynamic T1, HiFiMan 560 etc which I have owned. I recommend that you have a good headphone amp and source to drive these otherwise you are wasting your money as these are true audiophile headphones. I love these and highly recommend them. They are truly a great value for the price you pay.
